The white line on the sides was a good move. The roll bar could use some Hella lamps up there for show! Good job Gavin.

Get some Canopy or clear fix glue, to remove masking tape residue use some lens wipes or a little tamiya acrylic thinner on a cloth and gently rub.

Use PVA glue for gluing clear plastic parts - used by model kit builders as doesnt damage the plastic and anything that seeps out is easily removed with water.

I use Revell 39608 for all my builds and works well comes out nice and thin and dries pretty quick after applying it

Did the same with fitted Re-Re Blackfoot body onto a King Blackfoot had some old decals but made the main red and yellow sections from vinyl sheets. Looks much better. Top job buddy, looks awesome! Scary that First run with a newly finished hard shell! 😱

Looks awesome!!. After all that I hope we're going to see a bit more of the Brat in action.
I never knew about the Blazing Blazer.
The filling of the seams on the rollbar and the T top and window gaskets really set it off. The little details count. Looks sweet.

The issues I had are my fault vs the body itself but yes this one has a load of detail so it does take a while.

hi gav, I teach aeromoddeling for the RAF Air Cadets, if the new glue doesn't work on the clear plastic, I use PVA as that doesn't stain clear plastics or melt them :)

  • @OliversAviationvideo

Next time your in Halfords pick up a can of the polyurethane clear coat for your next build. This stuff is super hardwearing and gives a very high gloss finish. Much better than the standard acrylic based one you used here. Just bare in mind it can take up to a week to fully harden and needs at least 2 coats.

I always wished Tamiya would have done full interiors, instead of just driver figures-- Just for that added scale realism

  • @andyraven6219

In armour modelling they paint the camo, apply the decals and clear coat. Then you do all your weathering, safe in the knowledge if you get something wrong you will not muck up your base camo scheme. Great looking Brat by the way.

Nice touch on the roof hatch. Lacquer takes up to a week before I go near it. Sounds like you went in too fast with the masking tape. Done a great job. I have disasters all the time. Nice to see a real honest painting experience.

Looking sharp! The Brat always looks like a simple one to do but the details are quite fiddly to get right, once it’s done though it looks great , nice work. ;)

  • @jamesclark9502
    @jamesclark9502 2 роки тому

Nice job Gav, the small details make it pop - very box art! Question about the mention of T-Cutting and then waxing it when the lacquer has fully hardened - does that mean that you've lacquered over your decals? If not, won't you risk damaging those?

Great job! May i recommend using "canopy glue" by Evergreen for the rear window? There are other products by Testers and Revell for clear parts and they claim to be more of a cement than a modified PVA glue. I have only ever used the canopy glue due to availability.
