- I've never hidden the fact I am a big fan of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. I recently got to spend a week with the MY2020 Quadrifoglio. I did a lot of miles and really got a good feel for what this 500 horsepower super SUV is really like to live with. Could it be the best sports SUV you can buy ?

Got a drive in one of these. Just awesome despite not being an SUV fan. Noise is just as you would say MEGA!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely worship my 2019MY Stelvio Q - fast and dynamic with plenty of flair; unlike German rivals in my opinion! This video was well presented and informative with agreeable and valid points for owning quick and lightweight SUVS👌

What I really respect is the fact that you have a ‘real job’ too! Certainly shows a passion! It must also be so tempting to try and relax on the 4.05 hr journey home, stick on a podcast, highway assist, and try and relax, but you still have to do your review and your ‘positive face for the camera’! Very informative video Sir Pete. I’ve really liked the styling of the newer Alfa cars and suvs. Especially the wheels on this one!! I’d say there my favorite stock wheel on a vehicle. Also was great to see the dogs! Hope you and Mrs p our doing well and staying healthy!

Another cracking review and I know the A272 from Winchester to Petersfield very well. One of my commute routes and I love that road, even if I've travelled all the way down the A34, I always have "fun" on the A272. :)

Hey fella. Have to agree its an amazing car. Had ours just over a year now and still in love. Wife uses as her daily driver 70 miles a day and always returns with a smile. The only mod we've done is a bluetooth control for the exhaust flap so now its open in every mode, and cold start is insane. Great vid. thanks.

That's a very appealing real-world all the car you'll ever need machine. Shame you don't see and hear more of them on the road but with 24mpg at best I suppose that's not really surprising.

Beautiful car, love the panoramic roof and I totally agree with you about the wheels they are fantastic looking. Lovely note out of the exhaust. It’s a lot of car and a lot of money too.

Great video. I still prefer the Giulia QV, I put Winter Tyres on mine from October to March and it was fine in Race mode and in the wet. But great to see another brilliant Alfa - and I recognise your roads, very nice route back home from Winchester ;)

If I’m ever in the position to buy one on the future, I blooming well will. I had it on motorways and A and B roads and everything Ped said I wholly agree with. Fantastic fantastic car... Now you're talking, an Alfa and going to Ilkley, my place of birth. I actually miss my 159 which I loved, had for 3 years and covered just over 110k miles in complete comfort and reliability. The Guilia isn't as good looking to me as the 159 but I would have another Alfa in a heartbeat.
Stunning scenery around Ilkely hope you enjoyed. 20 - 25mpg is what I get from the Vantage.

Yet another great review. No doubt it is a very appealing proposition, hope Alfa have sorted out their dealer network, which has not been good. Still feel a certain emotional attachment to the brand having owned a Giulia Spider, superb engine and box with roadholding to match. Classic elegant bodywork, same could be said of the nineteen year old blonde who sold me the car, but that is a story for another time.😉

I *think* the A in DNA, (All efficiency) has cylinder deactivation for better MPG on motorway cruising, only in the Quad though

It is. On older cars like the Giulietta and Mito it’s All Weather.
In order for the ECM Master to activate the right bank cylinder deactivation function, it's necessary amongst a few other things, the third-sixth gear has to be engaged and the max number of revs not to exceed 3500 rpm with a max vehicle speed of 125 km/h...... otherwise the 3 cylinder deactivation is just a nice thought.... ;-))
I know people like to knock SUVs especially performance ones but they really do everything very well. Nice review 👍

Great piece Ped. Just as a footnote, there is nothing in legislation relating to the securing of a dog in a motor vehicle in UK. Advice in the highway code, but nothing legislated for. Obviously if it affects your manner of driving, you could get prosecuted for careless driving, but nothing on the statute books. Your advice to strap them in is obviously valid and good.

Hi Pete. I've seen a couple of these on the road in the last week or so.....along with 2 Levantes. Both good looking cars, but the Stelvio just takes it on looks I think. If you could get hold of a Levante, it would be interesting to hear your opinion.

254 miles to home - that's to my farthest site I support and it's there and back in a day! Luckily, it's not more than twice a year or so. This makes me reminiscent of my Alfa 156 - I had the first ever in the UK 20 odd years ago. Full spec every extra - I had to pay MORE to have no rear wing with the factory body kit. Loved that thing nearly as much as I love my 'bike.

In the tunnel, that noise in my opinion sounds like the fuel being thirstily guzzled by the engine.
I'm really not into the sound effects of Fmodern cars. The novelty to me has well & truly worn off. Some could say I'm getting old, which I am but I still get a lot of pleasure out of driving my Mini Cooper S on some of the twisty roads I was introduced to in my youthful years on motorcycles.
The Alfa looks a nice car. It's not a brand I have ever looked at though.

Well, you did end up getting your hand on one of them. A true petrol heah has to have an Alfa... 2.9litre with 510bhp certainly will not be the best on fuel and who buys it, will know that. But if a person has 70k for a car, also has for fuel.
There is also the option of the Veloce that is an amazing car too.
