This is easily one of the best figures I have ever had. I can say for mine, the tale parts in the legs stay with no issues. They are very tight. No squeaking, all the joints move like they should without worrying about something breaking. This may be as close to a perfect figure as I have ever seen. Now, I do agree with you, the face is a bit off. but, but nobody's perfect. But he is close.
Sludge was always my favorite transformer. As a kid, he was only one of a few I actually got from the store because we just didn't have the money, and when I could pick one transformer to get, I got him because it was also my favorite dinosaur. So he's always been very special to me. This figure looks amazing; a great throwback to the G1 toy, and I just can't get over his size. Looks like he has another production run this summer, and I preordered him without hesitation. Great review, keep up the great work.
Man, I know as collectors we can't collect it all. But even as a amateur transformer collector and fan, I can appreciate the feeling of amazement of this set. So I would advise anyone who is experienced or not this set is something that is worth the purchase and you are spot on, on this review and I hope you enjoy yours as much as you did the product samples.
he looks so good! I can't believe you showed him to us. how can we ignore a Skullface recommendation? this one can't be unseen. I want this so much more now. another on point skit
Finally got mine in the mail and I gotta say it's amazing well worth the wait. Truly a work of art. Really can't stress enough how Fanstoys keeps bettering themselves not to say the other figures are inferior but you can see how they keep trying to give the fans better product. Really excited what they are going to do with their Grimlock.
FansToys sent me a replacement thigh piece, and I only got it today, so I finally got around to transforming mine into Dinobot mode. The only niggle I have with this figure is the Dinobot front feet, or rather the toes, because they keep wanting to split (like they do to allow the hands to come out of the forearms for robot mode). I feel they could have done something to make them stay together better. I dunno how, better pegs or something. Great figure otherwise, and I can now put him on my shelf with the other Dino's
Nice like what they did with the Dino head in alt mode. He looks great in both modes transformation seems pretty intuitive aswell. Also great skit, I had to rewind and listen to it twice lol.
Love these Iron Dibots.Still some of my favorites in my collection. It's always cool to see in the early days when you still had fewer followers how many comments you replied to. Too bad we don't seem to really see test shots anymore.
Bobby, Stomp may be the 3rd party toy of the year. This thing is puts the latest round of Takara MP's to shame. The build quality is gotdamn outstanding and the likeness is just so spot on its staggering!!
Thank you uncle Bobby! Frankly it was a pleasant surprise to see a review of this up so soon and with you leading the charge, no less. I'm so getting this guy, also kinda worried FT-04T Scoria (toy version) is gonna stick out like a sore thumb (was too late in getting the original toon accurate version) with the rest of the dinobots. Dayum.
Awesome man! I can't wait to add this to my collection. P.S. glad you are starting to get these early hook ups. Fanstoys keep smashing them out of the park!
Yes Yes Yes !!! I need more intensive purchases like this. Love the review , he looks great. I think alot of people are going to give a sigh of relief with this lol. Hail Fans Toys !!!
This is by far Fanstoys best looking figure. I'm not a fan of their Dinobots honestly, Scoria is bland imo, Sever looks decent but I dig Guttur more, and Soar was something that I picked up hesitantly at a clearance price and feel 'meh' by it. Stomp blows me away though, the engineering is incredible and they finally put out a solid head sculpt. I'm really considering picking him up as an off piece. Nice review man, happy to see you get a first look.
Well I'm jealous. Okay the eye gimmick, does it just clamp on or does part of his dino head pop off? Wish I could've seen the dino head folded up in the back a little more clearly. You flew through that, seemed like I blinked. So a Grimlock to finish them off, I know it won't have that tail/head gimmick and would be tall without go-go boots. Tempted to pick up the KO upsized one, but not liking the comic book blueish black.
I collect the FT dinos so it's a must get for me. Though I do wonder why did they go with the transparent chest piece on this when others are not... one problem I have with FT dinos is that they don't feel like a team due to inconsistencies like the chromes, the aforementioned chest transparent piece (unless it can be replaced) and red plastics it seems...
congrats fot the early review! I' ve spent the last months wondering how would FT manage to transform the dino's back legs to make it really close to the cartoon. I'm very pleased with the results. It looks like the more advanced engineering was spent in there.
Looking forward to this BEAST! Great review fellow collector. Fans Toys is the go to MP 3rd party. Looking forward to their version of Hound and the rest of the insects.
brilliant review mate. so looking forward to getting this figure. i love the engineering and how Fans Toys put some thought into how it transforms so easily, over complication annoys the hell out of me. hope you and all your family have a Merry Christmas mate and hope Santa brings you some nice goodies lol.
Great review! :) Hilarious leg-brake call! X-D I have a gripe you didn't touch on: his chest seems too small. When you take him all in, it's like his arms and legs are the majority of his bulk, and I feel like a massive Brachiosaur should have a larger chest in bot mode. What do you think? I compare the bot mode to Planet X's version, and I just feel that Planet X's Neptune looks more imposing/proper in bot mode. However, FT has the best dino mode! X-0 It's a pain to decide between them.
+Marty Feeb thanks man, i suppose the proportion aspect may come down to personal preference. didnt bother me at all, never even noticed. maybe thats a more objective type of thing in this circumstance
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L I know right? When I buy 3rd party I mostly buy Mastermind Creations products when I can, for me money is right until my trip to TFcon Toronto 2016.
Great review. Now the only thing that I hate the most. Is the wait for it to come out. To be on its way and landing on my shelf. I'm just glad that it looks great. I'm waiting for my Quakewave. By looking at this. I'll wait till their shockwave gets to toys r us. Hope also that their Grimlock kicks the crud of out of their mp and ko mp Grimlock . Even though they are not 100% cartoon accurate. That's what makes them gems.
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L Oh ya, I meant that more as a general comment, not so much directed at you or your reviews. Keep up the great work, your reviews are probably the most objective, honest, Transformer reviews out there.!
Great figure and great review as always Bobby!! Do you know if Fans Toys are gonna continue their X line for the Dibots? FT-06X Sever was suppose to arrive since October but nothing yet, and FT-05X Sour was never officially announced in their website. Thanks :)
thanks for this review bro! Sludge was my favorite dinobot as a kid. I'm looking forward to add Stomp in my collection! have you seen the KO REXIMUS PRIME aka over size MP Grimlock?
I was jealous at first but then I heard you had to return it...that sucks. Now I can wait for this figure to come out (next few days I hope), because the "I Can't wait feeling" has switched to Grimlock. Thanks.
you didnt seem to have any problems with the tail folding up inside the legs and staying put? some other reviewers site that as a point of complaint, since it doesnt have a locking tab. just wanted to know your thoughts on it since you didnt really pay it any attention during the review. it is possible that the copy you got just has better tolerance and whatnot.
+gibran5000 yea there are parts that kkep it from sliding forward but not out, but any issue i had in that regard was absolutely minuscule and easily rectified. definitely didnt hinder the experience at all for me.
i highly recomend that KO oversized mp grimlock. its such a good fit for the fans toys dinos. also, how do you know if something at 215 toyz has something in stock. i cant find on the web site if something is pre order or not i would really like to order stuff from them. thanks for the review man
How do you feel he matches the look of Scoria, with regard to silver and gold and shininess? I felt that the original Sever was dull compared to Scoria and am opting for FT-06X Sever to match Scoria. What about this guy (Stomp)? Thoughts? Apologies, I haven't had time to watch the whole review yet.
+MultiJamesman you know, im ok with it, i dint really even notice, i was so happy to have them together lol. but im ok with a little individuality amongst them
Bobby Skullface L Thanks. The reason I ask is that so far I only have Scoria (passed on Soar due to its problems), and what I like most about him is how he is so bling and everything just shines and sparkles. Hoping that's an option for the whole set, as appears the case for Sever. Thanks or reviewing this guy.
Is it wrong to feel tingly for a toy? If so, I don't wanna be right. As far as the gun - for what I can find, the "missile launcher" gold gun was the only one he used in the cartoon (for all 2-3 times he was shown using a gun) as opposed to the plain one the other Dinobots tended to use, so it seems they went toon accuracy in that regard as well.
cool review Bobby as usual.can I ask are fans toys the only company making true masterpiece scake dinobots and if there are others who /what company would be the best.thanks dude.☺
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L I forgot about them...doh!.😅☺.would I be correct in assuming the gigs power versions are even bigger...either way it kind of makes the official takara masterpiece grimlock redundant. ☺
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L think I will go for them so....if your going to do it do it right...and by the way "nerd" is an acronym for "Not Even Remotely Dorky"..lol☺
+the maker drfrankenstein its my own song "solid unit" its on itunes but only for like a day more or so. just look up "skullface - solid unit" on itunes :)
Is a great figure!! same as the others Dinobots than Fans Toys has release so far. But i think that would be even better if Fans Toys give us in the future a set with a bunch of parts to swap all the chrome and translucent parts for all Dinobots for silver and yelowish gold parts. So that it will possible for all the fans that wish to have a much cartoon look instead of a more toy homenage. I could pay for a set like that maybe 200$
The back legs transformation on FT Sludge should also be on a Voltron lion (Yup should solve the skiny lion leg problem on any Voltron Figure) aside from that I got to say that FansToys have a lot of hits and very few miss(FT Hound I am looking at you) but damn that thing is rock solid! Takara should learn from FansToys in terms of quality! I am not crazy about the head either but it is ok, in the end Sludge from FT is the true 200$ figure MP unlike the "Exclusive" disaster MP Ramjet.
Maybe it's just me but why are all robot fingers the same length or close to it? It's starting to irritate me. Great review Bobby. Wish I was getting him but with the Canadian dollar the way it is its a little too pricey for me. Long live SCU
I think the problem i have with the mp dinos is that they are too literal. they look more like dinos than robot interpretations of dinos. the g1 dinos were more robotic and mechanical looking imo. also they were smaller while these guys look huge. just an opinion...dinos were always my favs :)
I have all three so far and this guy paid for - I wish it didn't bother me but alas it does. Premium price should get premium attention to that sort of thing... Did Stomp's gold at least exactly match Soar and Sever? Because in that group shot it didn't look like it :( Good review BTW, congrats on the first one posted. Made me go play with my Sever :)
thanks a lot man, and honestly i couldnt tell you, i was so wrapped up in my own joy of how they looked together i couldnt even be critical at the moment lol. im ok with them having a little individuality though.
Totally agree and glad to hear you are enjoying yours!
Wow, who ever would have expected such a glowing review for old Sludge? Looks like a really top notch figure.
+VRHyoumaru yes indeed
So far he's the jewel of the bunch and thanks to your review I can spend that cheddar with utmost confidence. Thank you!
+Getloose360 my pleasure
Sludge was always my favorite transformer. As a kid, he was only one of a few I actually got from the store because we just didn't have the money, and when I could pick one transformer to get, I got him because it was also my favorite dinosaur. +Hoang Nguyen thanks for watching
I can tell by your voice while doing this review that you're really excited about this figure. Really nice review.
+mik zarzuela thanks for watching
Uncle Skullface is the first to release a review of one of the most hotly anticipated third party figures ever. What an honor. Well done my friend.
+MP Collector many thanks, every now and then i guess you get lucky
DO WANT.
Also, congrats! I think you're the first UA-cam review for this guy!
+eyescovered many thanks
Finally got mine in the mail and I gotta say it's amazing well worth the wait. Truly a work of art. Really can't stress enough how Fanstoys keeps bettering themselves not to say the other figures are inferior but you can see how they keep trying to give the fans better product. Great review, it's been a great week, thanks for all the extra work you did to make UA-cam a better place.
+thegixxer73 many thanks
Pleasant surprise to wake up to this video from you. Looks like ft finally hit everything about right on this guy.
+adam bailey yes indeed
Thumbs up man. Digging the slow steady progress they've been making w these Dinos.
+nobudius me too and thanks

Great figure otherwise, and I can now put him on my shelf with the other Dino's
enjoy your shelf!
Such a wonderful review! Kind of an emotional one, seeing them all together. Very cool!
agreed
Very nice! Lots of smart choices there. If only my budget allowed lol.
+The Comic Dork we will make it allow
Are you trying to pull some Jedi Mind Tricks on me? haha
Nice like what they did with the Dino head in alt mode. He looks great in both modes transformation seems pretty intuitive aswell. Also great skit, I had to rewind and listen to it twice lol.

Yeah, he hasn't replied to comments in years at this point :/
I'm envious of you the good kind thanks for a first look at this amazing looking figure hope they can get them out fast. Happy Holidays
+Eugene Robledo same to you sir
Good gawd thats one sexy dinobot, and hiding the head in bot mode is sweet. Great review as always.
+Kevin Byrne many thanks
great figure!! love he pant apps on lower legs! great review as per usual ,my the sir!
many thanks madam
Bobby, Stomp may be the 3rd party toy of the year. This thing is puts the latest round of Takara MP's to shame. The build quality is gotdamn outstanding and the likeness is just so spot on its staggering!!

Awesome man! I can't wait to add this to my collection.
P.S. glad you are starting to get these early hook ups.

Yes Yes Yes !!! I need more intensive purchases like this. Love the review , he looks great. I think alot of people are going to give a sigh of relief with this lol. Hail Fans Toys !!!
+Justin Linett yes indeed
So about the legs, what a total nightmare... Thanks again lolol
He looks great Bobby. Looks like they hit a home run for you.
+D BAG Fitness im definitely happy with him
This is by far Fanstoys best looking figure. +Jeff Perrin i think its take off put on situation, but not sure, i forgot about it once i got wrapped up in the moment lol
this guy cleans up so good...might be the best mp dino to date for me and I really like scoria
+dattonex really well done
I collect the FT dinos so it's a must get for me. Though I do wonder why did they go with the transparent chest piece on this when others are not...

You can't knock a guy for tryin, most generous time of the year an all! Lol! I am looking foreword to getting mine now as well!
+yellowgut lol right?!?!?!
congrats fot the early review!

Only transformed it when i first got it. Forgot bout the extending thighs for going back to dino lol. Sigh.. thanks for the help getting there again
pleasure is all mine
Looking forward to this BEAST! Great review fellow collector. Fans Toys is the go to MP 3rd party. Looking forward to their version of Hound and the rest of the insects.

+monkeybubbles agreed
wow this has all kinds of goodness in it, excellent!
+Frank Marzegliano yes indeed
Awesome review! He looks great and I hope I can add him to my collection someday, I really need to give the Fantoys Dino's a chance :)
+shockwave514 yes you do lol
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L I know right? When I buy 3rd party I mostly buy Mastermind Creations products when I can, for me money is right until my trip to TFcon Toronto 2016.
What's taking this Grinder so long to arrive. I need this set complete already. Love these bots.
I would imagine he'll be coming shortyl
Great review Bobby, can't wait to get this guy either!

+Sam Thompson (Samsformers) thanks for watching
Another early gem from good ol' hung.
+poloskier1967 good dude, make sure to thank him lol
Great review. Now the only thing that I hate the most. Is the wait for it to come out. To be on its way and landing on my shelf. I'm just glad that it looks great. I'm waiting for my Quakewave. +THEWATCHERISLOOKING agreed!
Great review as usual. Love the figure. I need to hurry up and get the other ones. I only have Snarl. My wallet is going to hate me!
+Jose Sanchez i can relate lol
Any chance that you are planning too do a big Grimlock comparison video? Like Takara -VS- Reximus Prime v2 toon colors KO -vs- FT Grinder?
+Hangman EXE ill definitely be doing mp grimlock vs grinder
Great review, thanks! I still don't know why anyone would want to pose their dinobots doing some kind of karate side-kick...
+RaysWay thanks man, yea i only point out the need for those side ratchets for the more dynamic poses
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L Oh ya, I meant that more as a general comment, not so much directed at you or your reviews. Keep up the great work, your reviews are probably the most objective, honest, Transformer reviews out there.!
many thanks man and much appreciated, oh i didnt take it that any kind of way either, just thought i should clarify for those comments scrolling :)
Man, my type X is finally being released. The sliver could stand to be broken up, but I'm stoked either way.
Well enjoy!
Awesome review!! Your set looks great! 1 more Fanstoys dibot to go!
+Sibling Duel many thanks
Great figure and great review as always Bobby!! Do you know if Fans Toys are gonna continue their X line for the Dibots? FT-06X Sever was suppose to arrive since October but nothing yet, and FT-05X Sour was never officially announced in their website. Thanks :)
+Miguel Espinosa unfortunately i have no clue and thanks for watching
thanks for this review bro! Sludge was my favorite dinobot as a kid. I'm looking forward to add Stomp in my collection! have you seen the KO REXIMUS PRIME aka over size MP Grimlock?
+Mega Color i have indeed,
How do you change the faces in bot mode i want to add the red eyes
Thanks for this early review! Many thanks~
+Jack S thank YOU for watching
Sweet figure! In your opinion which company has made the best Dinobot set up to this moment?
+James Ramirez fanstoys
I was jealous at first but then I heard you had to return it...that sucks. Now I can wait for this figure to come out (next few days I hope), because the "I Can't wait feeling" has switched to Grimlock. Thanks.
+ButtonsMcboom the collectors curse lol
Awesome review, though low key, I was hoping to see the use of the googily eyes lol
+beeezyfresh lol, got wrapped up in the moment
Awesome review. This Hong guy sounds like a decent seller as well, asking for you to be honest with your reviews.
+Darren Cheong yea hes a good dude
Good review Bobby S,he is perfect.
+SUNDAYHEAT31 many thanks
I can't wait to get stomp next week, with stomp I'll have all the dinobots
+Luis Pena amen
You didn't show the dino mode with the googly eyes? or did I miss something? 0.o
+Smoke screen nope forgot, got caught up in the excitement
Lol alrighty then. :p
you didnt seem to have any problems with the tail folding up inside the legs and staying put? some other reviewers site that as a point of complaint, since it doesnt have a locking tab. just wanted to know your thoughts on it since you didnt really pay it any attention during the review. it is possible that the copy you got just has better tolerance and whatnot.
+gibran5000 yea there are parts that kkep it from sliding forward but not out, but any issue i had in that regard was absolutely minuscule and easily rectified. definitely didnt hinder the experience at all for me.

i highly recomend that KO oversized mp grimlock. its such a good fit for the fans toys dinos. also, how do you know if something at 215 toyz has something in stock. i cant find on the web site if something is pre order or not i would really like to order stuff from them. thanks for the review man
+chrisugs78 u honestly im not sure but hes very responsive so if there is a way to contact through the site i would definitely do that
yeah. did that and he totally got back to me in minutes!! thanks for the answer though
any time
The gun is cartoon accurate but would've been nice if they included the g1 toy version as well. Oh well.
+John Riepel (ebmhead242) yea, options are always right
How do you feel he matches the look of Scoria, with regard to silver and gold and shininess? I felt that the original Sever was dull compared to Scoria and am opting for FT-06X Sever to match Scoria. What about this guy (Stomp)? Thoughts? Apologies, I haven't had time to watch the whole review yet.

+the maker drfrankenstein its my own song "solid unit" its on itunes but only for like a day more or so. just look up "skullface - solid unit" on itunes :)
I watched this video 4 hours ago and now I have to go to the hospital for a possible priapism. I am completely stoked for this figure
+Erik Wolfe hahahaha nice medical term reference as well

+Gonzalo Sevillano Zeppilli thats not a bad idea
I think you misplaced some text in this video's description
+Ricardo Ito fixed. thanks
With his boots, no wooonder they called him Stomp. XD
+CNFunnyJon haha
great review

+Jon Langs yea i would prefer that as well
FINALLY😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
+poloskier1967 amen
anyone know what batteries the gun and sword use?
I do not
thsnks bobby
+the maker drfrankenstein no problem
i really dig the mp stuff but when it comes to the dinobots i just think you can't improve on the original perfection.
idk, this is one of the best 3p offerings ever made IMO
I think the problem i have with the mp dinos is that they are too literal. they look more like dinos than robot interpretations of dinos. the g1 dinos were more robotic and mechanical looking imo. also they were smaller while these guys look huge. just an opinion...dinos were always my favs :)
I like Sever's gold chrome look better as he looks a bit bland, but the engineering is fantastic.
Need this now lol
+Krommdor me too lol
these guys used to have diaclone pilots
correct
Damn Good Review
+jack james many thanks
That's exactly what I use MY digital scale for... Yea... And diamonds... Only weighing toys and diamonds over here...
+Tom Brooks lol and new dinner recipes ;)
If only the golds of the $1000 collection matched >:\
+youmongrel fair point, but it didnt bother me in the slightest. must say
I have all three so far and this guy paid for - I wish it didn't bother me but alas it does. Premium price should get premium attention to that sort of thing... Did Stomp's gold at least exactly match Soar and Sever? Because in that group shot it didn't look like it :(
Good review BTW, congrats on the first one posted. Made me go play with my Sever :)
thanks a lot man, and honestly i couldnt tell you, i was so wrapped up in my own joy of how they looked together i couldnt even be critical at the moment lol. im ok with them having a little individuality though.
now, grimlocks coming...>:v at last
The gun is Art acuter
+Nightwingnum1 cartoon accurate?

+allanmonster111 same to you and yours my friend
You just said Grimlock was too small but in your Grinder video, you said Grimlock was the right size 😑
too small in robot mode, but i like the size in dino mode
Everything in this video justifies my automatic preordering of FT products.
+Chad Webb same
Giga power wins this battle for me anyway
