    I think there is a big audience for a video with clean tones on this guitar, a tuning stability test, etc. More in depth overall :))

      You don't tend to get a guitar player that can demo all that when they're a shred monster, those tend to be famous players like Rick Graham and Guthrie Govan.

      The singles are Semour Duncan flat 6's, and baked neck. I've played em guys, the cleans are excellent, my fav for cleans out of all the gits in this category so far. I'm purchasing one.

    Totally agree! This is a bargain Suhr or bargain Jackson Dinky custom shop quality guitar. On my list and plays amazing. Bonus- it won't break the bank either. For under 1k, it destroys all the competition.

    I'm absolutely enamored with these DK24 2PT's...
    I have a Charvel Wild Card #7 San Dimas from "back in the day" and the neck on that thing is THE NECK. It feels like it was made for me.
    Shell Pink is the color on these DK24's.
    I just wish they'd finish them in nitro so they'd age like they should...they'd look great with naturally worn-in spots from playing.

    These specs are almost exactly what I want in a do it all tool. Whammy, hss config, locking tuners, compound neck, etc. A bone nut could've been added though

    This guitar is beautiful. I have only one question. What about more aggresive tremolo usage. I love to use floyd rose and this model has only locking tuners. What are your experience with tremolo on this guitar without locking nut?

    Super easy to putz around with high gain, but put that thing on a nice tube amp and some simple ods and see where it shines.

    Would have been the best guitar of 2018, but they forgot to add stainless steel frets... which are not expensive to use instead of nickel. Also i dont like that they call its Caramelized maple neck and not roasted. Are we even certain that its roasted or could be dyed?

      hey man, been looking around for the measurements of the neck on this guitar. I even emailed charvel support, still waiting for a response. How does the neck feel? is it like wizard 2 thickness which is what i'm used to. i bought an Ibanez AZ2204 but returned it because the neck is like a fender.

    hi does it sound strat? funky bluesy neck pickup, Knopfler's tone too ? or just shred? the problem with the san dimas 2014 i have hh is a lack of trebles for blues-funk and i think it's the same here, lack of brightness vs a js for example but not the same price or maybe it's your multi effect this is not the perfect thing to make a demo with the brightness in a sound to give the best sound of what a guitar has inside

    Sweet guitars though, hey?! Kickarse!! I gotta start saving all over again! (I had new guitar day just last week - prs se. And I gotta say, that dinky Charvel is high up the hierarchy of new awesome guitars, but this prs se is right up there with them. In fact, it's the fierce competition amongst a cluster of super brands that are making this the New Golden Age of (Affordable)Guitars. Good for us, the humble hobbyists. 😁)

  • @megostryder
    @megostryder 6 років тому +1

    I have to chime in on everyone's take on 'Caramelized' neck. That sounds like marketing gobblygook. If it's actually roasted maple then why not say it? that isn't the only negative i see either. there are several. First is the fender headstock. nice shape but why bring in the faulty string trees and a plastic nut to add tuning issues and a loss of sustain? Then the pickups. Why the bottom shelf Duncan SSL-6s and pair it with a 500k pot making them so dark to almost be unusable. The SSL-6s really are far too dark with any tone pot less than 1k. If they had put in the SSL-1a, one of the best strat replacement pickups on the market, you'd have something special here. And why no SS frets? It's marketed as a 'working man' guitar afterall. Well if you are then your want SS frets not just for the easier playing but the wear.
    So why not? well, fender owns Charvel. Fender probably insisted on those low points. they can't have a DK24 burying their strats...and that would include the Elite models. No...this thing comes out of the same factory as the player strat that can be bought new for $629. Now i'm wondering exactly what makes this guitar worth another $400? It doesn't even have a gig bag. After you buy that and a decent set of PUs your at $1300. i can buy an American made guitar at that price with SS frets and pus worth keeping. Say a Greg Howe GH3 .......as much as the dinky body looks better and you get the 510 trim I'm just not that attracted to a guitar that comes out of Mexico at that price.

    • @mattymodeerf
      @mattymodeerf 6 років тому +3

      you cant tell what makes it call for a higher price than the player strat? lol.

    • @dominickortega8489
      @dominickortega8489 5 років тому +1

      I actually have this guitar. I get what you’re saying but first off, your purely speculating the “caramelized maple” thing. If you don’t have the guitar to play it and feel it then your speculation is irrelevant until you handle the guitar on a daily basis in different conditions.
      In different temperature conditions this guitar (at least the one I own) stays in tune and there is literally no change in the neck that needs adjustment. I can literally divebomb with this guitar and it still stays in tune and if it does go out of tune it’s usually 1 or two cents max. Moderate trem usage as well as harsh flutters doesn’t affect my unit in terms of tuning stability.
      The neck is unbelievable smooth. There is no need to wait for it to wear down. It feels worn in but looks new. No friction what so ever.
      Pickups are totally subjective. There are a lot of people who want better single coils that have more twangy sounds to me they are perfect for my taste. The 2nd and 3rd position with the stock PU are plenty twangy enough for me. The humbucker is pretty good as well but I actually prefer different humbuckers with more clarity while also keeping the same output. If you want what you asked for in PU get yourself a strat. Plain and simple. This guitars strong suite is it’s versatility and with that you have to sacrifice pure strat tones and pure metal humbucker tones. You can put the single coils of your choosing but since this is a hss config you won’t get that 100% strat tone you’re looking for. It can be close to it but it won’t be 100%. If you’re complaining over the single coils not being as twangy get a strat.
      Now I agree with SS frets I cant go back to nickel. They should have included with SS but like you said fender owns them. I totally agree with this.
      With that being said this guitar is literally the perfect guitar for me other than the SS fret issue. I was a modern player but my tastes have changed. I needed a guitar that was a bit more “strat” sounding for cleans while being able to have that humbucker tone when I need it. I cant get that from a sss strat. I also can’t get that from a modern HH guitar. I don’t like the strat aesthetics. The modern guitars are now to overwhelming for me. Especially with Floyd roses. I need something in between, and before this guitar came out suhrs and Ibanez az models where the only ones offering this type of traditional/modern guitars. Suhrs aren’t cheap. Ibanez az prestige aren’t cheap either even tho $1000 dollars less than suhrs. Az premiums would be second best to this charvel except I don’t like the neck. It’s too thick for my liking and I prefer compound radius. However it does have slightly better pickups and SS for $300-$400 more. This guitar is cheaper, better neck profile for my liking and I’m getting a refret to SS in a few weeks for $200. Still cheaper than the az premium. The locking tuners aren’t staggered which is usually a minus but I don’t use the string trees (caused tuning problems) so I just popped them out re adjusted and it sounds perfectly fine (no sitar or loss of sustain/tone) without any tuning issues. For me this guitar was well worth the $999 price tag.
