I feel like this video definitely shows what this guitar is capable of. Pretty much every guitar can sound huge with tons of gain and high volume. This actually shows me that this guitar is very good tone wise.
Bought one of these due to this great vid, and man. What an axe. The roasted maple neck has a similar feel to a JP15. This guitar is an absolute steal at the price point. Thanks for this review!
I just ordered mine :)) I’m so fricken stoked. This is the first guitar I’ve payed for 100% on my own. And it’ll be my first high quality guitar. Oh, and I love the video!! Amazing playing too :)
man. I've been having a real hard time lately with life and I found your page today. my first guitar broke and I can no longer play it. I've had it for about 17 years and played the hell out of it. Extremely bummed is an understatement. I was looking for something to replace my Strat and I think I've found what I'm looking for. thanks for being a genuine dude and making great content! currently split between this and the So-cal style 1 in pharaoh gold. hmmmmmmm
Came here on my search for a strat that can also shred. This is the best guitar review I have ever seen. Those tones are amazing! I just ordered my charvel and you just earned yourself a subscriber! Love the video dude!
Good tone demo! The irony is I have the HSH version of this guitar and can get pretty much the same tone in the #4 position at about the 5:25 mark with mine as well per it's coil split. And Charvel's humbucker in the HSH neck has Alnico 2's so it's great for playing that rounded gibson humbucker sort of blues sound. And they did the middle position exactly the same on mine as this one (the 2 inner coil splits of the humbuckers).
I've got a Charvel from the 80's and that has a top mount jack like a Strat, but they've definitely found a better spot for it on the new ones! Nice review and playing man!
Legit best guitar I've ever played. Bought it a few years ago and since then I've bought and sold guitars at 2k plus because I just go back to this. I got for £600 second hand too. Insane value.
Nice ! I have the same guitar too, I play every weekend in a covers band and so that guitar it’s very versatile ! you can do a lot of sounds... greetings from Tijuana Baja California Mexico
I've been going back and forth between this guitar in primer grey, or an Ibanez Prestige. I might have to start considering the pink one now, she's a beauty! Great job on the review.
Great review. Mine is an HSH and so far, my favorite pickup position is actually the humbucker in the nut/rhythm position - I think it actually works well for both for lead and rhythm
This guitar should be coming this week and holy guacamole I’m excited. Letting go of my RG 550 because I’m just tired of the Floyd Rose and I just like to switch tunings so much. As you mentioned the grey looks amazing with the roasted (cooked - caramelized- whatever it is lol) neck, but man that shell pink is so cool. I’m excited. Thanks for the review and I hope you all are healthy and well. Cheers 🍻
Good to know you've not lost the infamous Ryan face. Haven't seen that in years. :P Great sound, and a thorough review! Sorry to hear the jewel in gone. Loved that guitar.
great to see you love the guitar, about to get one myself in the next couple weeks most likely (in pink of course). Also love the video, seems like you're having so much fun and it translates
Nice, ditto on liking the clean playing. I've been looking for a strat style guitar but play mostly clean. This guitar has been one of my choices but the Charvel metal shredder thing has held me back.
Dude. Awesome video! Congrats on getting your Charvel. Man! It sounds sweet! I just received my Charvel DK24 today. But I got the Okoume natural finish (think Nuno’s N4) with an ebony fretboard. I really love the Duncan Full Shred bridge pickup. The Kramer Nightswan I had back in the day (Dang! I’m old!) had a Full Shred and I was hooked on them since. My Charvel is a dual humbucker with a Duncan Jazz in the neck. It sounds real sweet, but hearing yours almost makes me wish I got the HSS. Happy jamming man!
Legend has it that if you watch it 100 times you’ll summon the Mega Charvel and grow long curly hair, the downside is you’ll have to start hosting the show and you’ll have set Ryan free from the witches curse... thanks for the comment!
I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these, you're awesome clean, dare I say , "pretty sounds" coming out of a pink guitar have me convinced 😊 very nice ! A couple other reviews on this guitar have me convinced as well.
Some very tasty playing for this demo, I wasn’t in the market for a new guitar but came across one of these for sale used on Ebay and got curious, I really like it , sounds versatilelike the shell link color and love the jack input / output placement on the back 👍
Played one today at GC. Felt amazing. I own 48 guitars and this is one of the best I've played. Also, why so many dislikes? A tasteful, professional review!
Sir.....I greatly enjoyed this presentation of your beautiful Charvel 24 HSS. I especially LOVED your playing at the end. If I were in your area sir....YOU would definitely be my guitar instructor!!! Thanks and best wishes sir.
I was on the fence between an Ibanez Prestige and this Charvel. I went with the latter and boy howdy I have never been so glued to my instrument. I have been playing acoustic almost exclusively for 8 years and I was able to cross over fairly easily.
I wish there were more 24 fret guitars with single coil pickups in the neck! Singles and single sized buckers sound sooooo much better than a full size bucker that gets pushed way towards the bridge. The Joe Satriani signature Ibanez and the Guthrie Govan Suhr (or is it Tom Anderson?) and they cost an arm and a leg. Killer tone, as another commenter mentioned, as somebody that loves blues, jazz fusion, and instrumental rock, it's great to hear such a nice, warm, overdriven sound. I need to get me one of those suckers
I have a mid 1980s Yamaha SE-612 that is very much like this guitar (SSH with coil tap on bridge HB), and has the same jack position basically. Good demo. Like these Charvel Pro Mods a lot.
Nice review. Really appreciate hearing the clean tones. Tasteful playing allows us to focus on the sound of the guitar. I didn't notice you quickly going for the volume knob when you stop plyaing, so not too much hummmmm?
Really appreciate this video as I'm shopping around for a new guitar with an HSS pickup configuration. Hope you're doing ok my guy! I notice you haven't uploaded anything in 2 years
I have a charvel pro San dimas metallic deep purple but am considering getting this one or the shell pink so cal. I love the look of the roasted neck with the shell pink and I love the look of this along with the input Jack's spot. My one question is can you use that whammy bar like a floyd rose?
You can slightly, but if you try doing super-detuned stuff with it, it will go out of tune quickly. Think more along the lines of a tremolo in a Fender Strat. This is basically the same thing...You can do mostly the same type of trem moves but have to be mindful.
Agree with a lot of your comments. You don't need 24 frets, but the position it puts the 21st and 22nd fret is key. The floating/non locking trem is killer too. Not a fan of Floyd Rose. Just never liked the tone. Always preferred an original strat trem.
Great review! Guitar looks and sounds great. Only thing else I would love to see is some heavy whammy use and string bends to see how stable the tuning remains. How has it held up over the last two years? 🤘🤘🤘
I'm thinking about building one of these "Floyd rose style". For around $650. Maybe H&S configuration. I like HSS too. And 24 fret preferably. But all the available necks are 22 fret. I love building my own masterpiece of a guitar.. I've done it a few times now and they all turned out good. It's a hobby and passion. But got to get a charvel one way or another.
Loved the review! I'm getting one myself. I was just wondering about if you know how to clean the baked maple fretboard, can you use regular oil that you would use for rosewood?
Thanks for watching our vid! Some people say raw linseed oil is the way to go for baked necks but be careful as some oils will darken the neck to an almost ebony color. We’ve also heard people say lemon oil is best but that can occasionally contain alcohol. The most sure fire way to know is to contact the maker of your guitar, most companies get back to you pretty quick with answers. Thanks for the question!
Re" the jack plate position. I agree that it puts the cable out of the way but this will pull out the first time it gets caught on something or you step on it. Unless it can still be passed through the strap? Also, wondering if it can be used with an right angle jack?
Hey man great review! What's your take on the 510 gotoh tremolo compared to a floyd rose? Can it withstand a divebomb here and there or does it go out of tune easily?
Just ordered the new 2021 DK24 w/natural finish roasted neck. If sitting in classical position does the input jack get in the way with other leg? Love this video btw!
I'm about to pull the trigger on this guitar, but I want the Floyd. How do you feel about the guitar now? Noticed the last few videos you've made were with one of your other guitars.
Awesome review man!! I was gonna buy the fender Telecaster Player series, but now I’m having serious doubts and the color killer! Also mind of I ask what’s that awesome Guitarbag in the back? Thanks in advance!
Hi, i'm a session guitarist, i mostly play funk, jazz, gospel or rock, but this guitar really make me in love with it. I wanna ask, should i buy it? i'm trying to compare it with Ibanez AZ224 or AZ242.
I'm so happy to hear clean sounds rather than all those shredding out there with tons of distortion.
Shredding is cool but with a lot of effects layered on it’s hard to get a sense of the instrument. Thanks for the comment!
Excellent observation!
Same here you real get a sense of the true tone of the guitar
Yeah I agree. All that distortion gets really muffled and messes with a lot of the nuance.
Same here
Always refreshing to see a guitar review through a clean channel instead of defaulting to playing with distortion like a lot of guitar players
I feel like this video definitely shows what this guitar is capable of. Pretty much every guitar can sound huge with tons of gain and high volume. This actually shows me that this guitar is very good tone wise.

Dude! That’s amazing! Thank you so much for the comment!! That really means a lot to us here at Futureriffs!
Ok but I can't Focus on anything but his HAIR, its insane!
Bruna we are well aware that the hair is the star of the show! Thanks for the comment
I just ordered mine :)) I’m so fricken stoked. This is the first guitar I’ve payed for 100% on my own. And it’ll be my first high quality guitar. Oh, and I love the video!! Amazing playing too :)
How did it turn out?
@@spookyspooks7567 I guess he hated it :(
You're literally the chillest dude ever, also good review!
Fender has done a good with Charvel since they bought the company.
Noah Dupont this is no joke, it’s so cool to see a big dog really prop up a brand like that!
They really have. I have an American Pro Tele but buying this Charvel for an old friend of mine.
@@mathewkromeo2934 man, what a lucky friend!

This is absolutely the most beautiful hair I have ever seen - Nice guitar too
Love this guitar, it's a beast. Beautifully built. This review was chill af, and a real part of the choice to go with the pro mod
Good tone demo! The irony is I have the HSH version of this guitar and can get pretty much the same tone in the #4 position at about the 5:25 mark with mine as well per it's coil split. I have this guitar as well and this is the best review I've seen! You covered just about everything and really showed how versatile it is. Great job!
Great video, Robert Plant
He is the love child of Page and Plant but you didn’t hear that from us! 😉 thanks for the comment!
I've got a Charvel from the 80's and that has a top mount jack like a Strat, but they've definitely found a better spot for it on the new ones!

I just ordered the pink one over the weekend and just saw this review, this is going to be a long wait.
It’s totally worth the wait my friend! Thanks for the comment!
I have been wanting one of these since I saw them announced. I just pulled the trigger and I'm pumped 🎸😻
Bob Berryman that awesome! It’s a real beast! Thanks for the comment!
A real guitar review from a real user!!! Never seen before on youtube
Nice ! I have the same guitar too, I play every weekend in a covers band and so that guitar it’s very versatile ! you can do a lot of sounds...

Thanks for the comment and greetings from Central Florida! You have great taste in guitars! Charvel really nailed this one.
I've been going back and forth between this guitar in primer grey, or an Ibanez Prestige. I might have to start considering the pink one now, she's a beauty! Great job on the review.
Been thinking of getting this guitar for a while now. Great review, definitely subscribing. Keep it up
Thanks so much! We'll have plenty more, its all on the way (:
Great review. Mine is an HSH and so far, my favorite pickup position is actually the humbucker in the nut/rhythm position - I think it actually works well for both for lead and rhythm

@@horstspreu6946 Just ordered it last week actually, supposedly shipped Friday. Fingers crossed it gets here tomorrow but i'm not holding my breath.
Liked in the first 20 seconds for the pink boba and pink guitar
The “tele-mode” really sounds like a lap steel. Very cool and versatile.
Nice, ditto on liking the clean playing. I've been looking for a strat style guitar but play mostly clean. This guitar has been one of my choices but the Charvel metal shredder thing has held me back.
Awesome review, awesome playing and awesome hair 🤘🤘
Would you consider putting Suhr pickups in this Charvel guitar?
Yes
Great Review Ryan !!

It's a series parallel switch, hence noiseless single coil-like tones!

thank for showing me this chord...i m enlove with it!
I have the same charvel in white, iam absolut in love with my guitar

woah how did you do that crazy harmonic thing at 8:30

this or the fender player plus?
