The city (U.S.) I live in allows us to own these batons but not carry them, concealed or otherwise. But you can walk around with a bat or a hammer or crowbar and they dont mind. You can carry a concealed firearm with a permit and openly without one but no colapsable batons with or without a permit. Seems kind of backward to me but at least Im not in London.

There's no "level playing field" in a fight. The world is never fair. The other guy can be bigger, stronger, faster, whatever, and you don't have a choice. Just don't give up. I recently saw some UA-cam clips of a one-armed boxer. He kicked ass. I was impressed as hell. That could be you!
When I went through my training to become a Community Service Officer, we went through these techniques. Those locks hurt like helll when forcing someone down to their knees, lol. I miss the academy, though... good times, lots of fun and great training.
In my opinion its always best to use the most confirmed tactics, namely: 1 escape if possible 2 strike first 3 dont have any misgivings, your life is most important 4th regardless of weapon always hit center of mass ( torso)
What you want to do instead is step low and hit the nerve directly above the knee. This is actually what US Marshals do to put someone on the ground with their baton.
i bought a few when i visited Serbia.it costs only 7€ there.but you can only use it 3-5 times and the batton breaks.tried to open it and piece of batton flew away.probably because it was cheap.my experience shows that if u hit the "enemy" in the face, head, neck or clavicle, you just hit once and its done.better than electric shockers or pepper sprays
As a tax paying citizen...I can buy guns, knives, stun batons....ninja swords, cold steel throwing stars....BUT, for some reason, I can't buy an expandable baton? Is that nuts or what? The expandable baton would be perfect for walking, because it doesn't call attention to yourself....Looks like maybe a flashlight or something...But it's a great less than lethal defense tool when needed...Why is this off limits to citizens in a free country? I don't get it....I really like that "Peacekeeper" baton, but they won't sell to the citizens of this country....Apparently the cops have more rights than the citizens who are supposed to be the real government and owners here....What gives?
We can buy them in Germany, to make it all more rediculous. But, we are not allowed to carry them or certain knives. Guns are an absolute taboo. No Tasers either. Enjoy your freedom. ;-)
You started really good, with hitting hands, but trying the other moves and getting your baton that close gives the chance for the opponent to take it.
Philippine maharlikas still has one more move for that. By Grabing his right hand with your left hand then place the stick on his neck and pull the stick backward against his shoulder.
1:13 he would have used his left arm, grabbed a hold of the baton and then grabbed your shirt with the other, again the baton should be used more if they have a weapon or in a way that the attacker cant get ahold of it
The problem is that unless we see something applied, and not just explained ,we tend to not be so certain about the knowledge. There are "perfect" counters and counters to counters, but reality does set in. I would not state, directly, that the explanation is doubtful reality, I would just desire to see it further explained. Three minutes and 40 seconds is really not enough time to know for sure.
I have one, but I cant get it to retract again. Any ideas on how and what to do .? I really trying to avoid buying more since I already have 3 or them.
Is it one with friction lock or the mechanical lock? If it's friction lock you generally need to hold the grip with your index finger and thumb and let it hang straight down, then proceed to knock it against a hard, flat surface. Almost like dropping is straight down. But if it's bent due to striking things that might be impossible.
this is like aikido and karate videos that show 'real karate' or whatever. all techniques work on a non moving and fully extended attacker. if you try to underhook his arm like that, he's going to take your weapon.
I love these vids. Can’t seam to find these techniques used in real life though? Question. Why, rather than attempting to catch the punch just swing the thing at him?
1:24 that arm is still free to get you into a chokehold 1:27 if he's grabbing you he's gonna use is left hat to grab you and his right hand is still free to punch of shank you
You speak as if the only thing he'll be doing at the time is concentrating fully on the baton. 1. Regardless if the guys left hand was free he's still in the worse position, the guy with the baton has the upper hand because he has control 2. He already mentioned the strikes will come first to weaken the attacker. Pretty hard to choke or stab someone when your hands and fingers are broken.
Yeah but all that shit goes out the window when you're actually moving and why would I be grabbing the shirt with my right hand and if I did why would I just let go instead of pulling him down with me and why would I grab him with only one hand? There's so much more wrong with this!
What I don't get is WHY no one uses his/her ExB as a knife or a spear. I 'stabbed' myself as a test with it, and man it hurt like a bitch and to do that you don't even have to swing it around, just a quick flip to expand it and use it as a knife. It's end is flat, so no risk of serious wounds, but it still delivers a powerful punch to the gut, to the ribs, or even the balls....
Question sir, when you lock opponent's arm with both hand, the opponent have other arm free when our face have no defense, how you prevent got hit on face when they struggle to release the locked hand by punching on face?
Honestly you'll never be abpe to lock your opponent's arm without him doing nothing, these videos are fake their opponent is basically braindead so you shouldn't worry

Unless I'm mistaken, it's a brand known as, "Bonowi," and it's German. Good luck even finding one outside of Germany. And, unless you are either: a) military; b) law enforcement, you are probably prohibited from even buying one. If you CAN get one, though, they're amazing. CNC machined, super-strong steel, that won't break, even if a full-sized SUV runs over it. But, there's a downside, too. Like all German inventions, it has waaaaaay too many working parts (56 in total) and all it takes is for one of those little things to break, and you're screwed. But you're right: it has a switch. It's called a, "Camlock," baton, and once extended, it is as rigid as a pipe. You need to push and hold the button to re-collapse it.
There's a company called Monadnock that makes them in the U.S., probably not as nice as the Bonowi but it's got the pushbutton release so you don't have to slam it against the concrete to collapse it.

These arm trapping moves are utter nonsense without extensive training and hours of practice. Fights are fast and furious and over in the blink of an eye.
