Warlock was really underrated.
Another painfully overlooked female rock singer is Saraya, also a hot 80's chick like Doro from Warlock. She and her band did two great albums and Saraya - Hitchin a ride is a real banger I really recommend!

Underrated by the general public or so, sure. But underrated by people who know what they're talking about? I just keep remembering a comment from James Hetfield about how happy and honoured he was when he got a chance to shake Doro's hand... 😁
Doro Pesch, the true Metal Queen, I had the biggest crush on her for years after buying this album. I just watched a live Motorhead video a couple days ago with her doing backing vocals on Born To Raise Hell, she's also featured on Sister Sin's cover of Motorhead's Rock & Roll.
Seraina Telli formerly of Burning Witches sounds just like her, check out the song Black Widow or Hexenhammer, both have a great 80s power metal sound that could easily be confused for Warlock.
The queen of metal she was and the queen of metal she ever will be. I never before her and never after her had a poster of a woman on my wall. I was so in love with her when i was a teenager. lol
Oh and the best classic of them is "All we are". :)
Doro also has had a solo career with her own self titled band for years. She's the OG "metal priestess". Battle Beast is a modern band that has a very Warlock / Doro vibe with a badass female singer... you'd dig em.
I second Dan's recommendation of Battle Beast.
You should check out Stay Black (she channels Grace Slick at the beginning), Iron Hand, or Show Me How To Die off their first album, with Nitte Valo on vocals, and then Black Ninja or Bringer of Pain to hear Noora Louhimo on vocals. They're both amazing.
My favorite Battle Beast song is Savage and Saint. It's slower, which is why it's not above as I tried to pick songs that show similarites with Nitte and Noora.
You're feeling is right. This album is a classic.

Amen. It seems that so many reaction channels get stuck in a rut, repeatedly reacting to the same handful of bands. Kudos to you for branching out and experiencing some new ground. 'All We Are' is another one of Warlock's top songs.
One of my favourite performances of "All We Are" is still when she sung it as her friend's (Regina Halmich) entrance song for the "fun, but still pretty serious" boxing match with Stefan Raab 😄
Warlock's entire Triumph and Agony album is amazing as are their previous 3 albums: Burning the Witches, Hellbound, & True as Steel. After that, half of Warlock joined Udo's solo band and Doro went solo herself. For other awesome female metal vocalists from the '80s check out Lee Aaron- Metal Queen, Zed Yago- Black Bone Song, and Lita Ford- Close My Eyes Forever (duet with Ozzy). Warlock had 3 music videos that got some decent airplay on MTV back then, excellent songs too: Fight For Rock, All We Are, and Für Immer. Warlock's entire Triumph and Agony album is amazing.

There were not many female Front singers in Metal in the 80`s. Doro and Lee Aaron were unique and though i didn`t like all music Doro published there were a lot of great songs she did. This was one of them, though my all time favourite from here is and always will be "true as steel"

Triumph and Agony is an amazing album. East Meets West, Kiss of Death and Cold Cold World are my favorite songs from this album. No filler tracks on this album. Very solid album. I love Doro Pesch so much.
Check out her solo albums. Her first solo album is another amazing album from beginning to end.
The rock world had the wilson sisters. Heavy metal had Doro Pesch. She was a true trailblazer for all women that followed her in heavy metal. Fun fact…she was the first woman singer to lead a band playing the famous Monsters of Rock festival back in 1986.

You are damn right... Its not only a great song from that album, the whole album is a diamond and great. I know Doro (the lead female voice) and Tommy Bolan who created the guitar sound of T&A and both are pure 80s magic and honest passion. This album is in a row with other classic albums like "Painkilker, Hysteria, Hunting Time", and more from bands around the globe...

Doro and Lita Ford...a long time ago, I knew this young man who had posters of those two smokin hot "Shield Maidens of Metal" plastered all over his bedroom wall...Now, just what else would a young man need?

I'll recommend 'Fur Immer', it is a ballad. Slow and heartfelt by Doro. Its beautiful. Doro deserves a great deal more attention to her body of work. She has eternal and internal beauty.
I remember when Doro left the band and went solo. Kerrang! magazine had a pullout poster of her that went straight to my wall. She's still kicking ass today! Beautiful as ever... Check out Raise Your Fist from 2012... A great Metal Anthem tune... In 2018 she released Forever Warriors/Forever United which had some great kick ass tracks on it,too. Cheers!
A little fun fact about this album, Tommy Henriksen that play bass also played on Doro´s first solo album that came 2 years after this and since 2011 he play with non other than Alice Cooper.
Doro is a fantastic singer and had her own band after Warlock just named Doro Pesch or DORO. Her along with Samantha Fox, Joan Jet, Lita Ford were definitely fascinations and fantasies of the teenage youth in the 80's. Their breakout song was "all we are". I saw them at monsters of rock in Germany, 1986. They were the opening band but they rocked.
I have been pushing an unknown band and specific band for years. The band is RIOT and the album is FIRE DOWN UNDER. Pick any song and I promise you will be a fan but why not start wit the title track.
Rock on brother and be the one to bring som of these unknown super tracks to the masses.

First all girl metal band was Girlschool, formed in the 1970s and part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. They have a pretty decent cover of ZZ Top's Tush you should react to.

I 100% know what you mean about knowing a song is a classic/banger on the 1st listen. I remember that feeling loads of times from Clutch's "X-Ray Visions" ; Birthday Massacre's "Midnight" ; Dio's "My Eyes" and Sanctuary's "Eden Lies Obscured". I felt the same way about this song too, yet it just never got that popular. Some folks don't get exposed to it, and others just don't know what's good LOL.
We did not know each other back in this time. Trust me, had you knew me, you would have been introduced to this greatness.

Doro is just as beautiful today as she was when this album came out. Was totally in love with her when this album came out. not just a great singer but beauty to boot.

Doro is the Queen of Metal, Warlock was a huge band for many of us back in the 80's . Doro is still rocking out on her solo career . A lot of female metal bands were on our listening rotating back in the day . Right up into the 2000's . L7 , Drain Sth , Lacuna coil , Kittie and who can forget Jada Pinkett Smith's band Wicked wisdom ! Everyone thought it was a novelty act until you seen them perform live !
I thought that about Jada's band as well. After watching one of their performances, I was like" Holy shit".

Doro! Doro! Doro! I love this woman. She was the first woman I ever heard who could really and I mean really, sing metal. You should check some of her covers. Also, when this album came out she could barely speak any english, she's german. You might like "All We Are" or any of her solo stuff. I cannot love her enough myself.

Doro Pesch is my favorite female in metal followed closely by Floor Jansen of Nightwish! Maybe check Betty Blowtorch album Are You Man Enough album from 2001. Vanilla Ice makes a surprise guest vocal appearance on Size Queen and it's actually really good.

I love Warlock, my advice for you is to go through the album because there are many good songs from that album and of course there is more. I think Doro's voice is powerful

The reason not many people have requested warlock is because "triumph and agony" is not that we'll known compared to master of puppets number of the beast etc,it deserves to be well known,it's a forgotten 80s metal classic, in fact it hasn't been digitally remastered yet sounds like it was recorded yesterday,I'm 47 and have loved this album since I bought it in 1987,I highly recommend'touch of evil' and'cold,cold world"..and everything else actually, there is no weak track on the album.

Wow..respect to you..damned you absolutly right. It is realy a special classic album. Very awesome...for us Metalheads its like the 'White album( Beatles) or 'Thriller' from MJ.....I asked alot of UA-camr to react to not so famous eighties bands...but hey, i guess its because i dont send them money. For what? To pay for their new Mic's or headphones or other shit...even if i had enough money...no way...listen...its about only one thing..the important of all...'MUSIC'...to enjoy, to discover, to share, to have a good peaceful time...away from all the crazy shit that happens every day arround the world. And Why? Its all about that damned Money....Dirty fuckin money... With all those money, all the great technics( WWW, Microchips, intelligence we have etc.) i cannot believe that there are still people/children dying of Hunger. WTF is going on...that sucks, man.
So, lets get positive.... i am so glad that i finaly found you, my friend. Like i said...i saw millions of mostly boring, selfish, hypocrite or idiots who dont care bout music at all, who only wanna be somebody and so they are only intressted at Subcribers(not a bad thing) more Likes than other and even for patrions and their money. I love this album. First heard it around '93 thanks to my cousin. It's too bad they only made two videos for it, "All We Are" and "Fur Immer". The latter is a ballad mostly in German. I'm not sure if it got any airplay. Had they released "Make Time For Love" instead I think the album would've done much better.

Nice job T !!!!!! Love warlock and doro. I saw her on my birthday about 10 yrs ago in chicago it was awesome and she was so humble and gracious to talk to.. you are correct the whole album rocked ! All we are is a killer anthem song !

Again you are right...Doro from Warlock is still on the road. For now over 35 years. Lemmy from Motorhead helps her alot in her beginning. They become very close friends..as he past away, fuck..so sad. The Music buisness(Labels, Managers,all those reckless careless moneymakers) are the reason why females in Rock,Metal had to fight that hard. Because those sexists, misogynist thought realy "Hey, thats a hard men thing...Metal isnt for those soft ladies...they belong not on stage,no, they belong in backstage rooms...and stuff like that....thats the eighties....you can see it, when you look at all those 'One Hit Wonders'..or like i use to say 'Bands of livin' 5 minutes'..

Minor correction, sorry: Doro was born in 1964 and Triumph and Agony was released i n 1987... so she was 23-ish.

This whole album was amazing , i listened to it until the needle broke on my record player back in the day. As well as being gorgeous I found her singing English with a tint of a German accent so sexy!! And this is no way the only good track on this album, listen to it all and react some more 🙏🏼
