The Kizer Momo is a work of art. The way the lines flow on the scale to the blade is so sublime. If it were in a museum of modern art, it wouldn’t look out of place at all. I’m glad I own one.
WMK is getting a purple haze/shiny dlc S45VN Momo this fall! Can’t wait, they’re only about 50 minutes from me so I’ll definitely be going up to get one!
I think the most underappreciated knife I bought in the last year is the Divo premium Pony Stout. I liked it so much, and it was such a great price that I bought both versions (black and stonewashed). I mean hollow ground S90V for $157 (after 10% discount)? C'mon now. And another cool feature is that Kunwu milled wire clip replacement clips fit on it. I put a Timascus one on the black one, and a shorty blue milled clip on the stonewashed one. I was almost offended that they took so long to sell out. It took months, and your review finally did it.
It’s was this same video last year when I found your content. Gave you an earful in the comments about how there’s no way these could be underrated and “so expensive” at the same time… Oh how I was wrong, every one of these look awesome and I’ve just added a few to my knife bucket list ! Thanks for introducing me to the realm of the knife world outside of the budget territory!
It’s a shame Sencut gets overshadowed by its elder sibling Civivi. I think the way you positioned them, respectively, as traditional vs cutting edge design is very astute, and I hope this distinction is something they’ll lean into more strongly over time.
just picked up a Sonora in magnacut with that crazy new milling pattern on the blade was surprised they were just sitting there for so long and there's still a few plain s35vn versions in stock. pretty sure machinewise is dropping more in about 8 hours of the time I'm posing this
Even with the hefty price tag of some of them, they are worth it. Benchmade back in the late '90s sold many knives over $200. I still have an carry a Benchmade 960 that cost me near $400, not an EDC, but a classy carry. I still carry my Stryker, 940 and Ares from before 2000. I have always been an Allen Elishewitz fan, as well as Osborne.
They should make a clip point large size knife with the lock taken from the ankylo. Come on Vosteed, that lock deserves more than a one and done knife.
@@StoneHands25 yeah the Truffles' detent is a liiiittle on the light side, but it handles multiple deployment methods very well. any harder and front flipping would suck, any lighter and i'd fail flipper tab too often. it straddles the line pretty well. not perfect at either, but good at all of them.
I understand why makers use washers , bearings are smooth but get dirty easy . Carry it a for a day at work and it sounds all crunchy , I think spyderco makes the best users out there
I don't know if it was released in 2024, but I feel that the IronFly Syperfly is crazily underrated at $69. I don't see how it couldn't make your best budget knives list as well. I don't think you have reviewed it though. The Kunwu titanium clip works on it too! That brings it to another level for me.
MC I really did enjoy this!!!! Great content. Only thing that gets me is in the knife world you have to grab it while you can…. I have the Sonora V1 I love it but I am so bummed now I want V2 😢 on this one I wish I would have waited just a bit.
That Vosteed is the best value knife in my collection and the only folder I would want with me out in the woods. I can't think of a knife at 200 (30 bucks more than this one) that is anywhere near as good.
The Ankylo has become one of my favorites. I have the smooth version and it's what I grab on a day after deadlifting or climbing. The aluminum is just really nice on raw skin.
Does anyone know if the Kunwu Chad clip can be replaced with a wire clip? Basically, are they compatible? I would like to replace a couple wire clips. Thanx for any help you guys can give.
Hey Metal Complex! Thank you for my new hobby! I am very gratefull for the sucking hole in my wallet. Just fantastic. But i have a serious question. Here in the Netherlands the prices are a bit more steep so my first month i have been bying more budget minded knifes. Bought the Buck 119, Ka Bar, Civivi ExOne Wood and Damascus, Civivi Vision FG Ivory Damascus ( Just fantastic) Böker Magnum Bluejay( two times, once for a friend) Böker Magnum Toxicofera ( because of daily use and only 23 euro's) Civivi mini praxis as a gift for an lady colleague. But But But!!!! My question!!! The first one I bought was the Ganzo Firebird Flipper. 60 euro's. The detent on that one is amazing. It's like an automatic! As if it is spring loaded. Haven't found the same feeling on another edc. And i'm not sure if i ever would buy again a more expensive knife. Are there any other knifes that you would recommend that have the same feel and snappy detent? Thank you so much for an reply. Helping a new knife junkie coping with his second month😅
I own the ankylo its cool but the button is to easy to press while using the choil it needs a lock or something...and the kunwu is awesome I own that and the crossbar is to weak on the kunwu Chads idk about their other models
@@metal_complex ok, I gotcha I’ll go watch that one next. I’m hoping it does well enough that we get more versions of it. It’s carries so easy for larger knife
You know, I don’t see the new Tactile knife co models getting a lot of attention. The Chupacabra and the Mariner 2 are both fantastic but I haven’t seen them talked about at all.

I like so much Vosteed. The Night Shade, the Psyop.
I agree, the Chad is a great folder, and that Maxace is next on my "buy" list
Cool that you included the Sencut Glide Strike. One of my favorite true budget knives.
You really need to try the Iron Fly Syperfly, it's a large liner lock and seems like it would be right in your wheelhouse.
Just got my Sonora yesterday and I completely agree it is an amazing knife.
It’s a shame Sencut gets overshadowed by its elder sibling Civivi. I think the way you positioned them, respectively, as traditional vs cutting edge design is very astute, and I hope this distinction is something they’ll lean into more strongly over time.
I think the CJRB Shale deserves a second look!
And pyrite s90v for 90 bucks 🔥

Such a beautiful complete description of the Maxace. Except the name 🤷

Aurora Truffles! Well, Tanto, but yeah there you go
I thought that lock had a weak detent?
I think they’re making a nightshade with that lock. Saw it at bladeshow

Love this kind of content 👍🏻
I just like 4 Civivi. The Elementum. The Praxis. And the Circulum. And the Chevalier.
Absolute fire on this list.
That’s it! I bought the momo. Twist my freaking arm. Jk I’ve been planning to but this pushed me over the threshold
That maxace knife hits!
I am a lefty. Sorry reate. Looks like I will be getting another Civivi for Christmas. No complaints about that
Is that a plunge on the final knife?
I really want a version of the Glidestrike with better steel and a stronger lock.
# 1 is perfect
I got a kunwu padre and the detent is so strong it hurts to deploy the lock bar so hard to actuate its brand new and it just sits in my case
I've had that same problem witb a couple kizer knives I bought
8.9 on the slap, 10 on the list
The compact Chad has been on my list for quite a while. Def hoping he does a fancy boi version of it. Kinda just holding out to see
I really recommend the CF version it's awesome.

Kunwu and kansept killed it this year. Several others, now that I think about it. #greattimetobealive
I agree with Kunwu but I'm not a fan of most of Kansepts designs except for then fenrir
Does Sonora pass a light spine whack?
Yes

Where Excaliburt?
Dude they deliver in December.

Metal Complex not mentioning Quiet Carry in like 4 years is proof that QC models should occupy the top spots on this list 🤷🏽♂️
