Hi Davie forgot how many times i have watched this video, but i must say just like your other flies this one has caught me many trout and lost count of how many i have tied for other anglers. Thanks for sharing and all the best and tight lines Peter.
Liking all your videos, great tying and I really like the way you let us know where, when and how you caught your fish. It gives us 65 year olds who have retired and got back into fly fishing a wee bit of confidence. Thanks David.
An simple interesting wee pattern..could also work for sea trout ?Hope to see you at BFFI fly fair sometime...we have chatted before I think about jingles and Loch Leven.Cheers,Simon Artley,Manchester
Hi David great videos, are you going to do the video for cormorant 2 and 3 ? If not what we’re the Matterials again and which supplier ? Do they both have tails. Thanks Simon
Dyna King Im afraid always , I really am not intrested in vices with all the bells and whistle. I like the hook to be held properly and the hook to be the highest thing. Vices that go down and then back up I dont like, plenty of clearance if that all makes sense :) I have a Dyna King Squire x 2 and I have the bigger brother one now the supreme
they are supposed to be spiky one tip gives the spikyness but still allows movement if that makes sense they slim down when pulled then spread out in the pause.

Been studying history and form of fly and like this form you tied. Marabou seems logical for movement
Interesting. Saw Davie McPhail use pine squirrel
Just found your channel. Great tips, have now subscribed. Thanks for this.
Thanks very much for the Sub, I hope you enjoy the down to earth flies and styles of tying :) tight Lines Dave

No bother at all
Might have emptied my fly tying bin after watching this. 😂 The amount of extra movement using the tip of the feather is exceptional. 10/10 top tip. 👍
Yup as the way they were intended and not wasting any feather at all :)
As always, another great looking fly. Thanks for sharing and keep the flies and stories coming.
Ill try my best

@@TheDavedownie thanks for your reply...
Why use the tips Dave I always imagined there would be less movement in the tips
they are supposed to be spiky one tip gives the spikyness but still allows movement if that makes sense they slim down when pulled then spread out in the pause.
Ah I see- I never used the tips before but will do now
