Old millennial here and birks have been a thing off and on like three times since I was in high school. And I’ve loved them every minute, whether popular or not 😂 clog life is the best
Amen! Can't remember a time I didn't have 3, black Grey & light tan
I just wish mine didn’t squeak when I walk. I did fully wear out the black pair I owned. Time for a new pretty felted pair for the winter 😊
As a 39 year old who had to suffer in heels at the club, I’m bitter and angry that now it’s cool to wear comfy sneakers out. That’s my rant
There is NO WAY even now that I would wear sneakers on night out.hate seeing it. Still suffer in heels
@@matinapapakosta538I’m 44 and preferred house parties cause I refused to wear heels hahah I wouldn’t even wear heals for my wedding 😂 I’ll never understand heel ppl! It’s terrible for your feet and that’s according to podiatrists.
Not trying to be judgy though! Just as a sneaker/flip flop person I don’t get it.
My best friend literally cannot wear flats and hates tennis shoes though. She’s worn sky high heals every day since she was a young adult and can’t get used to it 😂
Back in the day...I loved heels so much that I even may have worn them with a funky sweat shirt once or twice🤓. Lol 😂...sneakers?...what are those!
I probably fell a few times strictly because I was wearing heels in a club in the early-mid 2000’s because 20-something year old me wouldn’t be caught dead not wearing 4 inch heels. Now my max is 2.5inches at 39.
32 and same
I love how Carhartt is like a “trend”. Live in rural Virginia and Carhartt has always been a staple. 😂😂
Same.. Midwest girlie born and raised and I had a good laugh on that one. 😂😂
I'm from West Virginia an I laughed at the carhartt thing too because I don't know anyone that doesn't have something carharrt
Same. My boyfriend is an electrician and has used them for decades. He has a jacket from them he loves since it can get cold up here in the northeast and he isnt always working indoors (or in buildings that have heat).
This was so fun🎉! I had a colour-changing tee shirt in the 90s that reacted to heat, pink and purple. The result was always two bright pink splotches underneath my arms🤦♀️. It was fun in theory.
Hypercolor! I had the pink and purple one too. The UV reacting ones are definitely a better choice.
@@kelqueen9998 That's the one!
Carhart chore jacket I have been wearing for decades. I didn't realise farmer was a fashion trend and I've been killing it for my whole life! Carhart is supposed to be comfortable and durable bc we wear their clothes to get covered in dust, crop, manure, any other bodily fluids animals may rub on us, grease and oil. I have 🩸 stains on my overalls from a emergency c section on a cow with a twisted uterus and those overalls are still worn every fall/winter daily for hours on end
My daughter found a good Carhart chore coat at an estate sale. She loves it. But she’s a 25 year old with a vintage soul. ❤
Same!
THAT IS CARH3ART ❤❤❤ Me 2 about wearing carheart my entire life! Since I was lil stealing my dad's to bfs & having my own & occasionally still rocking dad's beat up & dirty or the bfs covered in ur guess is as good as mine! But every stain is a story of blood sweat tears & love!
I will always buy my shoes with a back strap. Also Birks will get more comfortable the longer you wear them as the cork conforms to the shape of your foot.
My friends and I wore those clog shoes back in the early 2000s, and we called them potato shoes 😁 They are very comfy, but you have to adjust to walking in them
It also helps to tighten the strap up, which she hadn’t.
Ok, that color changing dress looks like a DREAM on you! Color changing or not it is SO flattering!
Please do a “current makeup and hair faves” with a makeup application tutorial. You always look gorgeous!
Including how you do your brows! 😍
I would love a video of smaller indie brands! Like Give Me Glow Cosmetics, their new lip oils are glittery and amazing!!
I would for sure watch this! Love supporting smaller brands!
Yes! That would be so much fun!
I need to know where Dibs got her pants! They are adorable!
As a 35 yr old we wore birls with our flared, boot cut, and bell bottom jeans from the time of the 5th grade summer and 6th grade year all the way through high school.
Also they take some wearing to get the imprint of your foot in them and then they're comfortable.
And you couldn't borrow them from someone because of how well they mold to the foot.
I got my cousins as hand me downs once and I just couldn't wear them due to her imprint.
GenX wore Birkenstocka. I wore them in the mid 90s. Everyone forgets our generation 😂
I'm an older GenX, and they were a thing before me and after me. (By the 90's I was out of the fad phase.)
Millennials wore them too. They were popular where I grew up in the late 90s and early 00s
Love the Old Navy stuff!
I love the swift heel!!
You can make a white to pink dress. My husband did it for me for my birthday, he bought the dye and 3 dresses, dye them in this uv pigment, and mine is pink normally and blue in the sun
WHAT THATS AWESOME
Clogs with wide pants! Definitely
How did you not put those heels on with that dress???
Right?!
DIBS IS NOT 4 YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME! OMG! She seems so much more mature than I am in my 30's!
Not me crying in '90.....you two are so young.
Im crying in 1990 right there with ya lol @@hannersandrews
Omggg frr I had the same reaction and I'm only 2 years older than her but I'm like whattt how is she only 26? And not that she looks old or anything like that but is just her aura, she seems so much older than she is
@@hannersandrews 🙈 im crying in 84 😭 I’m ancient
She is a year younger than me, I thought she was older than me. I don't know why I never thought about how with the way she acts in comparison to the others that she's clearly very young and the rest of the family isn't exactly old either. I think I based everything around Rachel who is very mature and a mother. I keep forgetting I'm more than old enough to have a couple kids myself, I just don't have any.
Those Birkenstocks were one of the early styles. They’ve been around since the 70’s. They’ve come in, and gone out, so many times in my lifetime that they’re one, of two, kinds of shoes that I never get rid of ~ Birkenstock’s and Cowboy boots. They’re kind of like one of my old boyfriends, the minute they’re gone you say….“They’ll be back.”
I’ve been wearing Birks since my daughter was a baby. (She’s now 31.). My middle schoolers used to call them my “Jesus shoes”. But my feet were happy, especially when I had to walk all the way up to the 8th floor. (Our school was an old YWCA.).
I would totally buy the Carhhart jacket! I watch you when I am on the treadmill, makes the time fly!!!
Ok first THANK YOU for the Huda foundation update, I was so curious if it looked more natural with a dewy setting spray. Secondly! If you have a hard time trying to get foundations to stick to your nose the best thing I've learned (shout out to Robert!) is to lay down a bit of eyeshadow primer, let it dry, and then go in with your foundation. It's like night and day!!! ❤ Hope this helps!
I wore those clogs in hs (mid-late 2000s) with my flare jeans.
Would love to see how the chore jacket looks if it fits. Always down for the practical yet snuggly look. The color changing dress reminds me of a designer dress a friend in the fashion industry gifted me. Looks cool, but the busy pattern! I’ve put it on a dozen times, left the house in it 0 times. Back on the hangar for you!
That's always such a bummer. I've had a few pieces of clothing like that. Love it, but it never seems to be the right time to wear it.
Carhart jackets are great for very cold weather. I have a hard time thinking of them as fashionable, because the men in my family that work outside in winter have been wearing them for decades. They are made well, and they last for forever.
That foundation looks amazing on you!
I am Gen Xer and I wore those Birks in many different colors and styles in college in the mid-late 90s. We wore them all with thick socks but not leggings. We wore them under boot cut jeans or corduroys. It was very much a crunchy college thing and my dad wore Birks way back in the day (he’s a true boomer.) They’re always been around and don’t seem to ever go out of style. They are comfy.
The cut of the UV dress looked so good on you, Rachel! My heart did stop for a second when you showed the Holt Renfrew box…😂
Okayy that purple-y cardigan is SO your color! I’m guessing your seasonal color palette is “true spring.” Also that would be such a fun video idea to have a seasonal color palette analysis professionally done and then try to buy things according to the results
With the star light thing make sure I place it the right way round. Like those slides... There's a side that's blurry and a side that's clear (at least with the one I have)
Watch every week but 1st time commenting. I love all your vibes!!!!
Those black heels are adorable! I wish I had time and the balance to wear them. So cute.
They have a pair of Berkinstocks with a “sport mode” like crocs. I can’t remember the name thought!
Boston clog.
Tokio
I have the Birkenstock Boston clogs but mine are the brown nubuck leather and I love them and I’m 47 for reference. I’ve had mine for 3 years and they’re my fall shoe with socks and I wear the Birkenstock gizeh in the summer. I have a really really bad back and find the Birkenstock shoes comfortable and I love the look of them.
Having grown up in a farm town, I would have gotten laughed straight out of school had I shown up as a “townie” wearing a carhartt coat
My carhart jacket is for the Wyoming winter, when i have to go feed horses.
That UV dress is everything on you! You must find a place to wear that masterpiece 😀
I have two of the nebula projectors in my bedroom, and I love them. I have two different brands, and they both have a way to adjust the blurriness. Usually you can twist the projector screen. That might be something to look into.
Love The Dress on you and wear that with those heels! Thanks Rach For making thursdays fun!
The clogs... I wore those all through high-school (01-05) but they were definitely not name brand lmao. My mom HATED them, she called them my "Horse Hoof Shoes". Didn't wear them the way Dibbs did though lol. I for sure wore them with jeans and a Tshirt daily. I feel like they came back in style with all the other 90s/00s fashion. I honestly thought I'd never see them again though. Not spending Birk money to have them again though lol, I know mine were like $15-$25 maximum back in the good old days.
The cream color jacket is so pretty. I absolutely love those heels. I would've wore those back in the day.
Yeah, not me getting anxiety as soon as Rachel sat on the floor to put heels on. I’d never get on my feet 😂
How did that Patrick Ta foundation wear? That color match was amazing!! 🤩
Personally I think the huda beauty one was sooo soo much better
I wore those clogs all through high school lol. I graduated in 2010. I find it hilarious that they’re coming back
aldo pillow walk is the best thing thats ever been invented, i walked into the store bought them and have never regretted it.
With the exception of the dress and heels, I've been wearing these clothes for years already - they're not really anything new. I've been wearing Birkenstocks (sandals, clogs, work shoes, etc) for almost 30 years. They're great shoes and I own many! Just be careful so you don't hurt your feet during the break-in period. People who aren't used to wearing them sometimes have a difficult time.
I only wear colours and patterns - those old navy sweaters were so boring they could definitely be styled with something more loud! They look comfy!
I was doing dishes and packing to go to my dad’s for the weekend. It’s the 1 year anniversary of my mom’s death on Sunday, so my partner, dog and I are driving 5 hours to go spend the weekend with my dad. It’s the last big “first” for him without my mom (his wife 43 years), so it’ll be an emotional time, but hopefully fun!
That's got to be hard, I hope you have a safe trip and a good time.
The color changing dress is so cool
I have the aldo pillow walk chrysalis shoes with the clear toe and iridescent butterfly and ankle wrap, i wore them to a wedding and they stayed on all night it was amazing I love them!
Those sounds so pretty!
@@susanjeffries5108 they are!
I love Birks, both as the clog and the sandal and I've had them at least four different times in my 30 years lol Absolutely my favourite shoe to wear out and do errands in. Funnily enough though, absolutely had mules
Before Christmas Carhart will have a humongous sale and you can get things all the time in their clearance section but yes they are very very durable. My husband is a diesel technician and that’s his wardrobe. Remember when ordering from them though their jackets are made to wear layers under so they are oversized.
I really liked that first cardigan you put on
I have the clogs in wool flannel. They are warm enough in the winter (as long as I don’t have to walk through snow) that my feet don’t get cold even with the open backs. I live in Hamilton, Ont so it’s below zero most of the winter.
The outfit with the heels is soo cute!! Add a blazer and it’s a date night outfit. ❤
I love my Birkenstocks. I have 5 different pairs. They have changed the width fitting and the new ones don’t fit. I have friends who’ve had the same issue over the last 18 months. My first pair of Gizeh lasted me for about 7 years before being relegated to gardening sandals
They have two widths now depending on the style, narrow and regular/wide. You just need to check the box. Some come in both, some in just one or the other. My current pair is Mayari in reg/wide. I think Gizeh comes in both.
Those Aldo heels looked really great! I would never think of having a little gold snake wind around the back of a shoe but it was extremely cool. Why on earth have more shoe companies not put padding in heels? It is a question I ask myself every time I put on heels. It just feels mean at this point for a new shoe to come out and not be comfortable 😂.
90s kid here; My high school had uniforms and we had to wear beige, brown or black shoes, so the “Boston clog” style were the shoe to have, all the cool girls had them. They were $15 at Walmart and now they’re like $75! Damn Gen Z making things cool and expensive!!!
I have that cardigan from old navy and the sleeves are so long and they made me think of you 🤣
My son has the Carhartt jacket. He goes to a school in the mountains and loves it. It keeps him nice and warm.
Birk's are more comfortable with some age because the cork molds to your foot. They are fantastic if you stand for hours at a time.
I own that exact coat in black. I stole from my dad 20+ years ago! 😂 always loved carheart!
we call them birks or potato/tater shoes haha. i LOVE mine. we wore them a lot in middle school & im so glad they’re back!
Those heels are magical
Love the science of the dress but the pattern is giving drippy waffle 😂
I’m 41 and those Birkenstock’s were super popular when I was in high school, we all had them.
okay, i have been watching you for so long but still have no idea what Lo does for you💀
Quince - I see their stuff everywhere. Try some of their stuff out! In general I’m very invested in finding work pants (“slacks”) that are stretchy, comfortable, and look presentable. Halara’s waffle fabric pills horribly so looking for an alternative to that.
I'm 37 and the clog shoes are still my jam hahahah I even have sandles of them haha I wear them everywhere
When stealing my your dads farm chores jacket becomes fashionable 😂
The color changing dress… man I just be out of style because it’s not a pretty dress. The pattern looks like a waffle and the cut out design of the hem just looks like melted syrup on the waffle 🤣
I’m 32 and the Birkenstocks were huge when I was in middle school, so that’s not new. And, another thing, clubs and even restaurants are starting to have dress requirements where you have to be dressed a certain way before they let you in, which I live for. Comfortable is one thing, know how to dress for everything is the principle.
I work in a warehouse and I love the men's carhart zip ups in the winter time. Quality, warm, hidden pockets.. win.
Over 30 min of Rach? Yes, please!
I love the dress but all I can see when it’s unchanged is an inverted nutter butter.
I absolutely loved my carthart coat. So warm and cute. Love the color on yours get it in your size tho.
You need the Birkenstock Tokio instead of the Boston
Also, I hope you wear those heels with whatever fancy black dress you buy for Dibs' wedding
Hi Rachel. 17:10 purple-pink, the buttons are the issue, I think. If they are white, it will be amazing. I don't think is bad on you. But those buttons look off.
That dress: love, love, love on you!
23:14 Xennial here (1997 grad) we wore the Birks of all sorts with pipes (jeans with very wide legs) or flares.
That dress is absolutely INCREDIBLE! You need to wear it out for sure.
Please do another cull video! I’m going back and watching yours from years ago, and would love another!
These women contemplate clothes and fashion wAy more than I do 😂
I’ve been a fan of Old Navy for years!
I've been watching out for a new video on this channel; I'm excited. I love that dress from Ph5. I love how unique everything is. I'm sure you will look great in it! ❤
Omg i got the second old navy cardigan on sale and I WENT OVERSIZED!!! 🤣🤣 i recommend lol
Dibs, girl, you are making me feel ANCIENT. lol But, dang, now I need new cardigans (my closet disagrees, but I don't listen to it).
In 2007, I had every pair of American Eagle Outfitter’s clog shoes. Still have them and love them. Fur lined, corduroy, every color too.😂
I just came from Old Navy. It’s down the street from my house. Had to check out the cardigans. I bought one in grey that you tried on and a really cute pair of jeans 👖 I swear you influence me to buy so much stuff❤
Aldo pillow walk heels and ankle boots are so much more comfortable!!!
What you were saying about heels made me think you need to try Sneex!
Gayle King on CBS This Morning got a pair of those. She got the green ones and they looked good with her outfit.
I'm the same age as Debs?!! no wayyy I clearly wrongly assumed she was similar age to Rachel 😮😅
Not the clurbbbbbb 😂😂😂
The way I cackled when she said it. 😂
CLURRBBBBB 🙌
I got that same cardigan in the sad beige/ cream 😂 and I love it
Hey now I need to know what that cardigan/cozy top was before you cut off! I want that one!
The Birks will break in as you wear them, and mold to your feet. Don't give up on them yet!
I always love the look of Birkenstocks but fml, I hate hate hate breaking them in. I’ve had those clogs for like 3 years and have only worn them a handful of times
I’m in my early 40s and I love my Birkenstocks. I have several pairs.
The shoes....I had those, no, I LIVED in those right before Crocs came out in 2006ish
That dress was so cute on you!! And then heels 👠!!! That Carhartt jacket has been popular for many years at least where I'm from the jackets and hoodies from them too. I'm gonna grab that jacket for my hubby and I'm gonna go check out old Navy too!
