Sooo, I am just loving these old episodes of Sarah 101. Why can’t have a Tommy to help me decorate? Sarah and Tommy are the absolute best team. The room is stunningly beautiful and functional…2 things that are so important to me having grown up in one of those homes that had rooms you used 3 times a year. What did the owner say? 2 words - love it, love it, love it!
She had that colorful scarf around her neck so maybe she only likes a splash of color instead of in an entire room...but ya gotta have color folks! I always try to paint trim or items going on walls before nailing it up and then touch up where needed, cleaner lines if you don't want to use painters tape. Love how this turned out since there wasn't a whole lot of width to this room.
Absolutely gorgeous, l loved every aspect of the room especially the Chaise Lounges and the Roman Blind that matched the curtains! I just sewed my own curtains and Roman Blinds for my bedroom about a month ago. Except, l added a heavy fabric backing so it would keep out the morning sun. It took me quite a while to figure out what to do with that particular window because there’s a huge air conditioner in it that l can’t remove! I also loved what they did with the closet and the marble on the desk was brilliant! 💙👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 By the way, who’s afraid of color? That poor woman would faint from fear if she entered my apartment! 😂🤣😂
What?! This is Toronto! LOVED the blue fleecy throws, totally wowed me! I notice that you kept the two damaged chairs, which could be repaired with glue, right? Great choices with the two co soles being grey, all the furniture white or light. Kudos!
This was a project from the past. Exquisite design makes it seem modern. Sarah and Tommy would say to consider the size and scale of your space when shopping for a chaise. Tape it off on the floor to get the proper measurements before you purchase one. Check out Sarah Island videos to see how she uses another chaise. Good luck!
@@AbodeLDS love that Abode have brought back most of the Sarah 101 episodes. Any chance we could get the missing 2? One with a open area apartment renovation showcasing Sarah’s own black and white pictures she took around town. The second was another stunning basement renovation. 🙏
Lots of great ideas. I like it muted. The chair rail to unify the ceiling works great, as well as using the closet for office storage. The desk chairs are a fail, I think, because it looks like you can't get the arms under the desk to get in close. I'd probably prefer a linoleum desktop-friendlier, surface and lower profile if you're short. Personally, I'd use a fabric that's less traditional.
They wanted a variety of different rooms. Obviously most people are going to want their living rooms or kitchens or bathrooms renovated but Sarah didn’t want to do that for every episode. Especially since it seems like most of them are afraid of color. Imagine paying someone to decorate a room solely with white, black and gray with pops of brown.
I mean, you're wearing an item of clothing for no more that a day, presumably. Color in home decor is not as temporary, especially if it's like paint or furniture.
Couldn't agree more! Love how Mr Smythe is so private and we barely hear from him... makes it special when he rears his head with new shows and interviews!
What a beautiful outcome! I personally liked the second wallpaper choice better than the first. I really do not understand why this couple hired Sarah if they don’t like color! I’m guessing the husband likes color and knew Sarah could handle it in a subtle enough way to make his wife comfortable.
If that room isn't all girl nothing is. Sarah doesn't know masculine. It's not in her nature. They have an entire big home and that is where they will hang out? They need to work on their premises.
I don’t like how pushy she is. At the end of the day the customer has to live with the design. If they dislike the fabric or furniture you choose, give them what they want
No matter how small the area, they glam it up beautifully
Michael is my favorite. He could shop for me anytime!
That’s the coziest dang room ever. I want it.

Lovely. Thinking that my home office needs a chaise...
A perfect live/work space. Very relaxing.
Timeless design. This was always one of my favorite rooms.
I have always loved this makeover. The lounging chairs, and the architecture make it charming.
Glad we could bring it back onto the timeline!
One of fave makeovers of Sarah and tommy, so cozy and inviting and pretty
I absolutely love this makeover!!! What is most striking is the ceiling treatment with addition of the chair rail. The room has a dreamlike quality.
Tommy .. you are one of a kind.
In a good way
Haha! He sure is
Love this room - functional on a few levels; beautifully styled and decorated. Love their combined vision.
This is a very beautiful and practical makeover. The homeowners could easily change the room into anything they want.
“That’s not the package I’m looking for” 👀 “no tommy the carpet doesn’t match the blinds” 🤣 did this actually air on cable? Lololol I love it
It did!
I like the second wallpaper much better. The first felt too busy
Love this. Just cozy beautiful.
“Furniture Workout” video! Those two are so funny.😁😁😁

"No thanks, I'm good" 😄😆🤣😂😄🙃
So Beautiful! I want an Office/Sewing Room like this beautiful and functional space.
Stunning! I wish that she would have allowed the blue, to me that would have been a knockout!
Stunning. Love everything about this room, from the furniture and colors to the textures and the layout 😍

Thanks Jane! Love this comment
Mine too, I LOVE colour!
The blue on the drapery is practically the only color in the room. Very skillfully done.
Very nice. Looks comfortable and relaxing. Glad the buggie wallpaper was not available because I really like this choice.
Me too!

Love this reno!
A BEAUTIUL space!! You nailed it.
Thanks!
Totally gorgeous!
Geezz I simply adore those chaise chairs! PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THEY WERE PURCHASED! PLEEEZZZEE!!!!

Thank you for the enjoyable video, as always, I love it, and appreciate you, Abode.
So nice of you. You're always welcome

I love this episode so much. Beautiful!!!
"shelves in the closet?" channeling Lady Catherine de Bourgh, he he.
One of my favorites!

I like the color choices, I like using the chair rail to define the space, but I don’t get the chaises.
I love this team and what they do for the home owners
What a charming room!
Gorgeous!! 😍😍😍
I understand that she said she’s afraid
Of color.. but I saw her wearing an
Incredibly colorful scarf…
Can you list where you got the $27/yard fabric you used for the curtains? Loving it! Wanting it!
The entire room looks pretty girly to me.
Love it!
Lovely!
At minute 22 I got a thrill…
Awesome
Beautiful 😍
Imagine paying to have Sarah and Tommy decorate a room in your house and choosing a tiny home office that no one will see?
They wanted a variety of different rooms. Obviously most people are going to want their living rooms or kitchens or bathrooms renovated but Sarah didn’t want to do that for every episode. Lovely
love love love
Loved it
Tommy "I told you so!"
With computer usage, it might be better to cut off some of the legs to accommodate the marble top.
She says she's afraid of color yet is wearing a very colorful scarf.
I mean, you're wearing an item of clothing for no more that a day, presumably. Color in home decor is not as temporary, especially if it's like paint or furniture.
LoVE 💕 LoVE love Tommy!!!! I do NOTHING on-line! E V E R ....it's so NOT necessary!!! 🕳️
Couldn't agree more! Love how Mr Smythe is so private and we barely hear from him... makes it special when he rears his head with new shows and interviews!
The lady is wearing a bold multi colored scarf, so what about those colors?
Looks like a bedroom to me.
The chaises were a bad idea! Bulky and impractical!
What a beautiful outcome! I personally liked the second wallpaper choice better than the first. I really do not understand why this couple hired Sarah if they don’t like color! I’m guessing the husband likes color and knew Sarah could handle it in a subtle enough way to make his wife comfortable.
WOW..not ONLY does this vid display design ideas...BUT, also...HUMOR? HMM... 🤔👣
There's tons more of these episodes in our Sarah 101 Playlist!
If that room isn't all girl nothing is. Sarah doesn't know masculine. It's not in her nature. They have an entire big home and that is where they will hang out? They need to work on their premises.
the client loved it. did you see him snoozing?
$360 per yard is just plain wrong.
Ok so "a room that pleases a man and a woman"...not all women and men like the same things. Some women like blues and grays. Some men like floral.
No way a client who’s afraid of color?
I don’t like how pushy she is. At the end of the day the customer has to live with the design. If they dislike the fabric or furniture you choose, give them what they want
No damn it! I will give them what I want and they will pay for everything! And my next house damn it!
