Just love you to pieces, Heather! I can hear joy in your voice and your wrists are working so well! Lol. Thanks for inviting us into your warm kitchen!❤
Oh thank you!
Canning Queen ❤ Love your videos!! Left over brine makes a great marinade. 😊
hahaha thats just what someone else posted!!!!
Great homemade salad dressing too
You are a natural teacher. We are so blessed to have you
haha thank you! I always wanted to be a teacher when I was a kid! LOL I always knew I had the gift of gab and I myself am a visual learner.
You are so gifted. I don't think I know anyone else on UA-cam that can hold a candle to you@@TheKneadyHomesteader
Wow, just sat down after finishing 12 pounds of candied jalapeños. Then saw your video! It was nice to hear your kitchen laugh again.
I changed up the recipe a bit.
3 pounds jalapeños, diced.
2 cups Apple cider vinegar
5 cups cane sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp all spice
1/4 tsp cardamom
1/2 tsp clove powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 star anise
The kids are drooling waiting to try. Told them they had to wait.
WOW! I HAVE to know what you think! hahaha I am like another kid in your kitchen! hahaha
Sounds Great!!! And I love the idea of Jalepino Apple jelly sounds Great!!!!
right??? I thought so too!!!! we should do it! LOL
It's such a joy watching you prepare your kitchen creations. I love seeing the processes from beginning to end. You inspire me in so many ways, Heather! Here is a {hug} from Texas. 🥰🥰 God bless you!
Thank you so much! I LOVE TEXAS!!!! I need to move one day!
It is hot here 😅
I make both, the Cowboy Candy and the Cowgirl Candy (pineapple and jalapeno candied together.) Both have excellent brine and can be eaten with just about anything. I have a niece that will down a half pint everyday when she's sick; she swears it has healing properties.
Would live the recipe for the cowgirl candy :)
Oh Heather you are so sweet. So nice to hear you giggle❤️. God bless you 🙏🙏
Thank you so much! xoxo
Girl you are on a roll, and, us your viewers, are loving your videos!!! 😅
I LOVE candied jalapenos, I make the refrigerator kind, just for me using a Pyure Sweetner brineb since I Avoid sugar. My Boys would LOVE THESE FOR SURE! Thanks Heather, they turned out BEAUTIFUL.... DEFINITELY putting on the to DO LIST! 💗💗💗
I wanted to can BBQ sauce today ut my body says NO! haha I may rest today and do a Bible study,
Mmmmm! That looks amazing!!! I grew up in Texas and won jalapeno eating contests!! Those were the days!! YUMMY!! Thanks for showing us how to do it! 😝
I am a Texan at heart! I dont know how I got stuck here being born and raised in Michigan. It’s messed up. 😆😆😆😆😆
@@TheKneadyHomesteader Haha! I was born in Minnesota. Family moved to Texas when I was 3. I left Texas at 21 for Kalamazoo Michigan! Moved to Tuscon Az when I was 24ish! Then hopped over to New Zealand in 1998! Boom! Oh and I love your vids!! Ok ok saw your vid about accident in feed...and I've been a fan of you ever since! 😎👍🏻😝Hooked thru thick and thin!! Big hugs! You rock...even tho you threw out that brine! Lol
Oh girl that brine works wonderful on meats. I make cowboy candy for a couple of my grandsons who love them so much. So happy your able to start canning again.
OK I will save the brine now when my boys eat the peppers and use it!!!!!
Girl!!!! You are on fire!!! These things are delicious!!! I make them every year. Be aware of the heat, but they are addicting 💖💖💖💖
I eat them on lots of things and I do not particularly like hot foods.
I put some on a salmon pattie yesterday. Love it with beans/cornbread,fried potatoes, every doggone thing. Lol
Word of warning… let it rest for at least 6 weeks,8-10 weeks are better. If trying it before then,it is way too hot. The candy part takes time.
I have started rough grinding mine. Makes it easier to “chew”. The slices are very “crunchy” and more difficult.
Yummmmy!!!
the sweet.....then the heat comes at the back end! hahaha
Oh just reading your post made me hungry!
I just made this for the first time and it is sooo good. I took my jalapeños and put them through the food processor so they where like relish size chunks, maybe a bit larger and did everything else the same.... this is so good and I use a spoonful on a cracker with cream cheese. We love spicy stuff. I also canned the leftover brine for marinade.
I bet relish would be good and easier to use!
I’ve never done these before, but after watching your tutorial I’m going to try it. Thanks
YAY! Make sure you come back and let me know how you like this!
Candied jalapeños is always good! Another jalapeño recipe is for Pineapple-Jalapeño Jelly. Makes a terrific glaze for chicken. Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA - 9/8/2023
Those look good. My honey loves jalapeños. ❤ I'm so excited that you are back to canning.
Me too!! Thanks for always being one of my biggest cheerleaders, Sarah! Hugging you from afar! Do you feel it?🥰☕️ Good morning!
I felt your hug and hugged you back. Love ya
I love the popping sound after you take them out of the water bath.
I use a plastic plate like a lazy Susan. I put 4 maybe 5 jars. Full one then move on to the next jar. Like a assembly line but in a circle. Wipe them all, lids on. I have old dish cloth I use to hold when I screw on the the lids.
NICE! Like a rotating production line! hahaha love it!
🎉❤️🎉❤️ So good to see a new video from you & happy that you are doing good (all things considered!) BTW: You can make spinach jalapeno dip, jalapeno cornbread & jalapeno chili! 😋🌶️😋❤️😋🌶️😋 God bless your family.
I was afraid I was putting out too many. it's been one a day almost all week. LOL
Awesome job Heather looks delicious. Cowboy candy is one of my favorites to eat on everything. I save my brine for roast, pull pork and BBQ sauce. Oh yum! ❤ Beautiful!
I’ve never had cowboy candy before but you make everything look so easy and delicious. At 78 I don’t can anymore but if I did I would try these. Love your videos! ❤
oh I wish I could run you over a jar! or help you can! we could do it together! hahaha God bless you Ms. Patricia!!!!
I'm so happy to see you canning!

Thank you! You too!
This is on my list to can! They look great! Thanks Heather.
You are so welcome! HAPPY CANNING!!!!!
I want to try it; I have about a gallon of Jalapeno peppers in the freezer from my garden. You can also pour the jar over a brick of cream cheese for a dip.
thats my favorite way to eat pepper jellies!
OH!!! You’ll love it!!! I put it in egg salad, inlets, burger mix… everything! I can’t do the heat so I take all the seeds out… and save the brine for marinade for chicken! It’s amazing!!!
yeah someone else mentioned deviled eggs! you guys are so fun of ideas! thank you!!!!
Oops!!! Should have read omelets, not inlets…. Stupid autocorrect!!! LOL
Beautiful and fun! Thank you! ~Sharon from Florida
Thank you too, Sharon!!!!
i a m SOOOO excited to try this......jalapeno is my favorite flavour in the WORLD!!!! cheers from down under :)

Canning queen at her finest ❤❤❤ i just made a second bacth from my Jalapenos i grew this year and all my pepper plants are still giving me lots of peppers. My family loves this stuff and i even have a gal that insists to pay me for them and she gives 10.00 a jar and buys multiples. ❤❤❤❤
Nice!!!!!!😆👏🏻 that covers all the seeds! 😆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 i love me a side hustle like that!

I have jalapeños and banana peppers still in garden. Picking today and probably can tomorrow.
Fantastic!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Happy Canning!!!!!!
Awesome
Yes cowboy candy...mmmmmmm
Looks great Heather, I had a bad reaction with my hands and hot peppers one time I didn't think they would ever quit burning. If even slice hot peppers I have on two sets of gloves.
Oh no! that's awful! I wore gloves, thankfully I had no issues, but jalapeños aren't super hot compared to some others!
Wonderful video
Many thanks, Tina!!!! Have a great weekend!
My family and I love cowboy candy, I tried it as a relish and will do cowboy candy relish from now on. So easy in the food processor. We eat it on BBQ burgers and hotdogs and crackers with cream cheese.
I heard the relish is so good and I think I will try it that way next time! I need a new food processor. My kitchenmaid broke a few years ago and I never replaced it :(
Beautiful Job !!!❤
Thank you! 😊
You can save the brine, can it as well. Oh sweet heat. God bless 🙏❤ pop!
Welcome back hun!!! 😊❤
thanks sweet mama!
Heather it is beyond wonderful to see you canning, smiling and your laughter. “My husband said can you make those candy pepper Kneady made”.
HAHAHAHA Tell Hubby I said HI and YES YOU CAN because if I can do it I know you can do it!!!! He will love these! Feed it to him like grapes.....but instead spicy sweet peppers. HAHAHA
I am learning canning from you. These look delicious.
woohoo! happy canning!!!!
Well done. I wanna try to can soon so this inspired me to do that. Can’t wait!
You can do it! pun intended. hahaha
Those jars look Beautiful ..
Looks amazing!
Thanks Tim!!!! :D
Welcome back ❤
thank you Martin!
Oh Heather, I can hardly wait to make this! Next year I will be trying to make this using habaneros. What a fun recipe! Thank you
You are so welcome! I hope you let me know whatcha think after you make this!
I love candied jalapeños.
I am so glad I made them!!!!! I think my boys will love them!
I love cowboy candy. Use my leftover brine to marinate flank steak or chix for fajitas❤❤
oh man I have not fajitas since Matt passed away. That sounds so good!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I just have to say your ring is so beautiful .❤❤
I have plans to making this tomorrow! Your video was perfect timing!😘🙏🏻❤️✨
New subscriber here! I am loving your videos and you are an inspiration to all. Sending prayers and love your way. I love making this and besides burgers we make deviled eggs and put some on top... Really good! God Bless!
Oooooh thats a great idea!!!! I wouldn’t have thought of that! Thank you and also thanks for subscribing!😁❤️
Pepper Jelly is the best, especially with Lamb.
Hi neighbor, I can't eat anything spicey but the video was really cool. I was going to tell you when the the Amish can peaches as soon as the water comes to a rolling boil they shut it off, seemed a little shakey to me. Have a wonderful day.
Very shakey. 😆
Leftover brine would make a great pepper sauce.
Btw. At my home, we love the heat, but not sure if you dont like hot stuff.
Learned so much ! What great things you do in your kitchen! Awesome job!!!❤❤❤
Thanks so much, Pamela! 😊
Heather, can you use yellow peppers with this recipe? We grow tons of yellow peppers in our garden! Thank you for sharing this recipe! I'm a person who can't eat alot of heat....ha! But, my husband and sons love it!
Yes, absolutely!!!!!
Yesssss!!!
hahaha I put it up today just for you, Sis! hahaha xoxox
Xoxoxo! As soon as I got the notification I flew over here!
I do mine with half jalapeños half sweet peppers and no cayenne so … mild Cowboy Candy. 😂
hahaha I like it mild!
🚨🚨🚨GLOVES a MUST WHEN WORKING WITH PEPPERS!!!!🚨🚨🚨
I AGREE!!!!!!
I made some a few weeks ago. I haven’t tried them yet. I also canned the leftover sauce. I’ve heard it makes a great marinade!
I put it in a jar and I didn't have enough to fill it. LOL so I didn't have much left. let me know how it works as a marinade!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I followed everyone else’s recommendations and doubled the liquid portion. So I ended up with two or three pints of leftover liquid. 😬
At first it didn't look like you would have enough brine. I make pepper jelly with peppers I grow. Have to try this recipe.
OH I hope you do!!!!! I can't wait to hear how you like this! Mason wants to put them on his sub sandwiches. hahahaha He asked if we could have subs for dinner tomorrow night.
Now next time you can make the Hawaiian delight!
I have heard of that......long time ago.....my brain fails me. do you have a recipe?
My main uses for jalapenos I grow is jalapeno mayonnaise and jalapeno bomber dip.
WOW! that sounds GOOD!
They are both awesome. For my mayo I use 5-6 jalapenos with seeds, bit of salt, garlic, lime juice, 2 egg yokes and sometimes some onion. Run in the chopper. Then slowly drip in 2 cups of oil. Found running the chopper on chop helps air rate it thicken it up a bit.
Jalapeno Bomber Dip. I use anywhere from 50 to 80 jalapenos. Depending on my harvest. I leave 3rd of the seeds in. Found that's a good balance of heat and flavor for me. Chop them in the chopper. Then melt half a brick (the 64oz ones) in a pot with 2 things of cream cheese. Once melted, stir in bacon bits an the jalapenos. Can also add in cooked shredded chicken, fried hamburg, etc. Put in oven save baking dishes. When you want to eat them, cover with bread crumbs and heat in oven at 350 deg till bubbly. Eat with small round tortilla chips or any other of your choosing.
Oh that brine juice...would it be cool to throw some chicken in there and make a sour cream sauce? Oh I must be deliriously hungry for jalapenos! Lol
Now you’re making me hungry and its only 5am! 😆😆😆😆 Good morning!!!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader Morning Dear One!! Have a great day!!! 🌻
I like this recipe 😋 so easy for me...one question can you use like Monk Fruit or Stevia instead of sugar? Did another amazing video...may our God Almighty continue to bless you and your family!!!!!!!
I would research it....I know sugar is used as the preservative, that things like alternative sweeteners can't make shelf stable. so look into it!
I have a batch where I accidentally mixed up the turmeric & cayenne pepper. I haven't tried it yet, fingers crossed it's not too hot. Use the extra brine to marinade chicken.
hahahaha it may grow hair on your chest! My boys would love it. My son Zack ate that infamous potato chip.....and he ate something else too. He loves the hot!
Good morning. I am thinking about getting this Ball canner you are using in this video and was wondering how you like it and would you recommend it? I have been canning for years and need to upgrade my canned . Also looking into the all American pressure canner? Thank you Connie
If my canner broke i would immediately spend the money to replace it. I absolutely love the Ball electric canner! I dont know how I would work without it!!!! And of course All American is an heirloom canner and worth every penny!!!
I’ve never made these, I like spice but just a little bit so not sure if they would be too spicy! They look delicious! At the end, you mentioned you would eat the jars with less peppers and more brine first, what is the reason for that? Thanks for the amazing video! Love from south TX ❤ Maureen
Because they are uglier to me 😆 and if i were to gift a jar, it would be a pretty full one 😆 it’s a me thing!
💓💓💓🥰
I just got done making cowboy candy with about 6 different kinds of peppers I picked this morning.
beautiful!!!!!
I have to make more for a friend of mine. She absolutely loved it and put it on everything. I didn’t cut them in little circles. I’m drawing a blank on how I did it. They kind of look shredded. I can’t believe I can’t remember 🤦🏼♀️
Like a relish? I think relish in this would be amazing!
Hi just wondering if they stay loose like a pickle? or are they jammy?Thank you for the recipe and Love you🤠❤
they are lose like a pickle but the brine is thicker than pickle vinegar.....if that makes sense. but it is NOT like jelly or jam! you can pick a few out and put them on a hot dog, or on a taco!
ok sounds great! @@TheKneadyHomesteader
You can drill a board for small tri- pod tape legs/ glue To keep em collapsing ?? They'll be more stable🤷
I can't even picture in my mind how to do that! hahaha I can bake bread and preserve food, but anything outside of that I have zero talent. LOL
What do you use this with? I have heard abiyt ut but never knew hiw to make it and what was in it. To spicy for me but people talk about it a lot :)
Put it on tacos, nachos, chili, hit dogs, brats, ect….
It’s good over meat.
Hey, I love cowboy candy, but I don't like it hot, so I deseed, devien, and prepare as it says in the recipe, so I have a nonspicy cowboy candy, it a taste good sweet condiment.
Does this make the peppers lose their heat?
No. If anything it intensifies 😆
Question: how many cups of sugar, and how many cups jalapeños sliced was in the recipe?
There is a clickable link in my description box with the recipe for you❤️ i have two traumatic brain injuries and things like that I can’t retain in my memory bank. 😆 but the link is there for you. I’m in the back end of my channel on an app and can’t access it from here for you. ❤️
I just finished making cowboy candy and was wondering if anyone has made a jam/jelly from the remaining liquid? I canned some liquid already but wondering if i could make jam?
When you are making it and you said you were gonna get 8 I said no she can get 12. So it was enough for twelve Jars like I predicted wow. Also I would Have saved the BRI ME And I Reduce It and put a little honey in it. And made a sauce. And put it over some chicken or something. That you like
OMGosh! HAHAHAHA I needed you in my kitchen!!!! WHERE WERE YOU! hahaha spot on!
How deep is that pan you're using?
It's a 7qt
Depth: 3.5"
Diameter: 12.5"
Thank you!
you are so welcome!!!!
heather i made maple white fig jam i made 6 jars and one jar for the fridge 😘
heather can your prayer circle please pray for because im having to battle the social security about my cheks that they are keeping thanx heather in advance
that sounds amazing! and of course! I have a friend who just went through all of that. what a nightmare!
FYI, "Cowboy Candy" is a copyrighted name!
I was wondering! you are the only one who answered that for me! hahaha Thats why I did NOT use it in my title! haha
