Dude, your optimism/positivity is great. It's so much easier when you see the good in something rather than the negative! Good stuff and a good score!!!
Thought the loader arms in my lahman little dipper repower project were bent but you my friend definitely win. Well worth $500 though good rule of thumb is any skid steer $1k or under is a great deal. Parts are expensive so even if one doesn't fix the machine parting it out will make you money still. I'd of bought it immediately myself.
I was gifted a Bobcat m371. It's a fun little machine. I just wish it had more than 10HP. It really bogs down when you are turning and the chain drive is buried in an oil filled sump. Changing the axle seals is a real PITA.
Sure wish I could find something at a price I could get my wife to agree on. We are in the middle of working our one acre property for our retirement spot and I have a 300 foot long berm to use for grading our yard area for our home. Wish me luck.
You need a caster wheel on the rear to allow much smoother turning on hard surfaces. It would let the machine turn and not dig up the lawn and on pavement it would be give better control.
Lift arms being tweaked can probably be farmer-fixed by strapping the one side down and using the hydraulics to try to lift the arm. Carefully of course.
I just cut that stem out of all those fuel shut off and put a manual in line if its needed. I bought a Gehl 6635 has an 80hp diesel and 9k lbs. love it too just too big sometimes so i scratched up a New Holland L75 with a seized 4cyl wisconsin so im hunting one of those or a 4BT,Shiburu or Kubota 40-60hp diesel engine for it. Put same size tires all way around and will stop the chain from popping over the sprockets, thats like having 3.55 rear and 4.10 rear diff gears in a 4wd truck locked in on pavement and why it was sliding the right rear because its going slower than the front tire, iirc the drive motor directly couples to the rear wheels and chain drives the front off the motor shaft
I would agree this thing 100% needed proper tires to fix most of its issues. I hope your new holland project goes well! thatll be sweet with a small diesel in it.
Bottom sprocket is worn out on the 1 side. That loud clicking is your chain slipping on the worn sprocket. Someone tightened the crap out of the Chain to get a little more life out of it but she needs sprockets and most likely new chains all around.
Thats what I originally thought but the sprocket was in fine shape after digging into it. I would agree the chain was worn out and in need of replacing.
@@WeldingandWheeling ya thats prob how the boom got tweaked that bucket already weighs a good bit then whoever owned it was trying to pick up way to much on one side it can be fixed the same way though put the lower side on a rock and take another machine and mash down on the higher side and you can tweak it back fairly straight
You have the voice of a broadcast engineer but the mechanical savvy unperturbed. Where ya'll needed to use the Brillo pad was down in the seat. Did I see the bucket try to straighten itself, right side low, when you tried to turn the left handle? So bucket curl is turning the right control in a twisting motion? What does twisting the left control do? Raise the boom up and down?
@@WeldingandWheeling son, I wish I could post a picture and prices in my area. You can’t buy a burned down skid steer for $500. Fix one up and sell it in Louisiana you’ll make a killing!
Yes, but probably would have had to take it to someone to repair. That person would have probably ripped me off on the repairs. The mini skid steers that are popping up everywhere for $3500 at auction new are really going to send these older units to scrap. It makes me sad because there are use cases for these that the mini units just do not meet. I can't find anything close to what you have here for anything less than $5500 here in South Carolina. Every farm seems to have a fleet of them that they never let go of... Thanks for the video. I would like to see you get the drive right. With regards to the arms, do you think it flipped on its side with the bucket up?
I agree the new Chinese equipment is really going to change the market for this older stuff. I figure the boom arms were probably bent from an uneven lift, but your idea is definitely a possibility
Dude, your optimism/positivity is great. It's so much easier when you see the good in something rather than the negative! Good stuff and a good score!!!
Thank you for the kind words man!
Definitely would have bought it.
Thanks!
I bought 1 of the first OMC skid-steers, 1970 Put a 65 hp Wisconsin engine Have own 15 years, Its a 5800 pound Monster.
Geeeez that’s a big guy
Man, I'm loving this! I recently picked up a machine just like this that I am going to repower., Great video!
Thank you, good luck with your repower!

That’s the way I look at it as well, seems like the area I live in now there is a lot more of them around.

I like the bobcats; I would like to have a small one in the future. I can imagine wanting more horsepower is a common thing with the small ones.
Good purchase. With it running you should be able to flip it as is for a profit.
Thank you!
You can pull those fuel solenoid off and take a pair of wire cutters and snip that plunger off yes. I do it all the time.
Awesome thanks for the confirmation I’ll remember that for the future
The Gehl 2500 was actually built by HydraMac. The model 2600 was built Gehl. The original engine was a 25 hp Onan.
Hmm I didn't know that, thank you
Awesome deal!! such an incredible find!!!
I think so too!
no matter what $500 A REAL DEAL!
I agree!
great video sir i learned alot from you
Thanks for watching!

Good luck! I hope you come across a machine soon!

Ha I like that idea, like the original melroes
All 4 tires have to be the same size or you will have binding in the drive system
Correct! Working on remedying that for the second video.
Lift arms being tweaked can probably be farmer-fixed by strapping the one side down and using the hydraulics to try to lift the arm. Carefully of course.
I was thinking either that or getting creative with wood blocks and using the down force of the hydraulics.

It's better than 50 $10 shovels.
I agree with that
Nice job.
Thanks for watching!
id love to see you do a project with it :p
I think I will then!
I'd love to find a deal like this. People want thousands for old models like this with blown engines, or even no engine lol
I always keep an eye out and have seen a few sweet deals, but most of the time you are right.
Keep it , fix it, and use it ! (Come in handy and anouther Tool,Weapon,in the Tol box- Arsonel
I hope to buy a slightly more capable skid steer soon to keep around for that reason
Looks like the hydrolic cylinders are a different length, could be loader arm problem?
I haven't noticed that I need to check that out.
How did I know it was Gehl before I even started the video.
They have a look for sure!
Chain drive sprockets might be worn out.
I checked them later on they looked good but the chain was a little loose

You get it working right
Yuppers!
The thing is called a fuel shut down solenoid
Right on the money
👍
Thanks Pete!
hahah geel lol its pronounced GELL, or GALE if youre from the northeast. Great video man! I just bought a 2600 myself!
I'm very surprised you are the first person to call me out on this.
@@WeldingandWheeling nah its all relative to the where ya live i think.
Just looking at it's size I think that bucket is way to big for that machine the boom can be tweaked back though awesome video though
It is rather large now that I think about it.

I can never find equipment this cheap, where are you guys finding it? I would love to buy these cheap once and fix them up.
Sadly it just comes down to scouring Facebook and occasionally Craigslist like a hawk.
Selonoid is still plugged clean it wi
Yeah the solenoid really should be replaced but it works.

I’ll take that as compliment I think.
Get a set of tip cleaners for a cutting torch
Those are my go-to tools for cleaning carbs typically.
If it isn't getting fuel That,s the Problem easy fix
Yes it certainly is!
Swear to F! What market place are all looking at? Old skid steer $500. Total BS must be Canadian.
Nope Midwest, I see a fair amount of cheap skid steers out here. On the eastern side of the country I would never find them.

U don't even need that in the carburetor
That’s good to know for next time
I bought a running 1835b
Case uni loader for 1,800
Sweet sounds like a good deal, I like the case machines
1845c is a fux beast

It runs and moves so that's not a bad deal. I don't live too far from you and have seen worse sell for more than that.

kinda close to the road aint ya
its pronounced gail
You would be correct.
Bad bearing
Hmmmm I would believe that

Fix the drive
agreed!
It is a dumb thing to put on that carburetor
I was very surprised to figure out that was the only shut off on the machine to kill it
