We need you to start dropping videos daily🤣 I found your channel and watched all of your videos in like 3 days🤣 we need some part 2s to a couple projects you started as well😎 Keep after it bud
@BradenBuildz understood bud. Your doing better then myself. I only reached 2k subs on my racing channel and gave up🤣 Just know il always be watching as a fan and not a hater👍
@@Naveen_XD_it was a follow up to the first one, everybody on UA-cam loves the lull because it’s not as common as it once was, with how unique these are, a lot of people just love it. I’ve seen plenty of them over the years in fields and such but never any that ran or operated until lowbuck and Braden
Yes maybe he has an extra set of points he can ship you,if nothing else he may be interested in taking that off ur hands for low-bucks of course.being his web namesake.!!!!snookie pa.😊😊😊😊
DON,T GIVE UP Braden ,after you see that video that I have mention to you you,re gonna see all the potential of that telehandler,it is amazing.if it,s not too far gone.
Good job on getting it running. I think it's newer than a '58. The slant six didn't come out until 1960 and that particular slant six is newer than a '67 since it has 5 freeze plugs. The carb is a mid-70's Holley 1945 off of a car or truck because it has a bowl vent for emissions applications. The carb number is stamped on the passenger side along with the 4 digit date code. 2964 for example would be 296th day of 1974. It probably had some type of a Stromberg or similar carb originally. The distributor should have a Mopar part number stamped into the body or on a tag which will help you order parts. Don't forget the condenser. I estimate it is a mid-70's machine. Correction on the oil line- originally they were all copper with a loop near the engine to account for vibration. The nylon stuff is cheap material for cheap people. Good luck.
I'm floored that the carb let it run at all before cleaning out. ugh. Also surprised it wasn't locked solid with an open carb like that.... lucky it seemed to be shielded from rain intrusion. Neat machine. Good job.
Yes, those look like maypops to me as well. If you throw them down, when they hit the ground they pop! We played with them when we were kids in the 60s and 70s.
nice work saving this old lull. Ive got an old one built on an Oliver tractor, yours has the slant six so its 1960s or later. It has the Funk reversomatic that has a torque converter so you have to rev the engine to get it to move. good Luck!
What model do you have? When working for an Oliver dealership in central PA, I used to repair the Lull units built with Oliver diesel engines and Reverse-O-Torque units.
I think it would be interesting to see how everything in the old teleporter works but without spending a fortune on it , keep up the great work mate 👍 love your videos
Having fuel issues, I thought I saw a fuel filter on the carb, were the fuel line comes into the carb. Had a Pontiac that had a pre-filter on the carb, changed the filter car ran after that. Keep up the good work.
Well, I have to admit I was divided as to which way I was cheering when I saw you shoot starting fluid in a distributor. It certainly would have been entertaining to see it launch a distributor cap into orbit, but I was also yelling at my phone that you should let it all evaporate before you cause any sparks.
That vine I believe is a wild cucumber. do not eat. They grow spikes on them and then the pods open up and large white seeds fall out and start the process again. They grow on my property too.
I'm almost certain you've got a half dozen or more vacuum leaks on that carb. The intake gasket was ripped in half when you took it off. All those hardened and cracked hoses with bolts/screws in them are almost certainly leaking air. Even one vacuum leak is enough to make that engine run like that.
I was yelling at the video the whole time lol that thing screams vaccuum leaks. thats why it has to be choked constantly. Also sounds like your main jet is clogged and thats why it has no throttle response. Only the Idle jet is working. Very good work man
I would suggest after cleaning as rebuilding the carburetor to put an inline filter between the fuel pump and carburetor and use new line with it in case the old line is deteriorating on the inside letting little pieces of rubber go into the carburetor
Great video! Apparently, the engine wasn't getting enough fuel to accellerate when the throttle was opened above the idle setting. I'm thinking that possibly the carburetor's float setting is too low, or (maybe more likely) the carburetor's main jet is clogged. It might just be that the carburetor's low speed jet needle may also need to be opened (unscrewed) some, also, to allow enough fuel for the engine to transition from low speed to higher speed, without stalling. I'd remove the carburetor again & thoroughly clean all the fuel passeges with carburetor cleaner.
Looks like the main jet in the carburetor is plugged up. it won’t drive either because it’s low on transmission fluid or it’s in high gear. There’s a double reduction gearbox on that thing that needs to be shifted into low low. Replace the points with an aftermarket per Tronics electronic ignition.
Wow that looks pretty shot, what would you do with it if it did run?. Probably lots of money to fix and get working. Scrap It !!! Work on something that can be saved instead?
Likey you lost spark because the coil got hot and possibly fried. You put 12v to a 6v coil. The wire at the starter solinoid only puts 12v to the coil when cranking so you get a really hot spark even with voltage drop from cranking. The key switch supplies 12v to a ballast resistor which drops voltage to the coil down to 6v. Running constant 12v to the coil will overload the points and the coil will get very hot. You can get 12v coils that don't need the resistor
@@BradenBuildz likely wasn't that resistor is in the line from ignition power from the key switch. If you took that wire off the starter solinoid that wire doesn't go though the resistor because that lug on the starter solinoid is isolated from the stater and only gets hot while cranking to give the coil a boost because running off the 6v feed while cranking the power draw of the starter will lower that 6v too low and cause weak spark
One thing i would wonder about on that thing is If the brakes arent locked up. That would keep it from moving. Biggest thing on that one is the carb. i would see if you could source an actual rebuild kit for it so you can go through all of the jets. The reason it has no acceleration is because the accelerator pump is bad in the carb. Probably the same situation with all of the jets. I would look at your local napa or something like that for yhe carb kit im sure a lot of engines used that carburetor. Great work tho. Hope you can save this one.
Yes come back I'd love to see you drive that thing out of his grave and although you want to use the engine for something else that would be a cool little piece of equipment just to bring back as history
You shouldn’t keep pushing the starter motor so much because it can over heat and cause some really bad issues with how well it can start the engine so if you were to give it breaks and don’t try to start it for like a whole minute then it won’t damage the starter motor

I have ole army jeeps with brass floats
Would love to see more in the old Lull. It would be so cool to see it run and work again.
Dude no way, Low-Buck Garage JUST did a video on the same (or very similar) machine this week. Wild.
yeah i thought he made a follow up video☺
I was about to post the same thing.

As a kid we called them Mapops, we put them under the seat of people so when they sit down they would pop & smell. 60/70’s error

Never gave up 💪
She say there for 15 years and it is still a beauty
It would be a shame to see this beast never fully brought back to it's former glory, I would love to see you finish this!

That ant distributor was crazy! Anti-distributor.
This is strange I Watched someone fix the shame model of that loader yesterday 😂
I hope you keep em running. These parts are very rare, but i think u find em there ...Greetings from Germany.

I use to operate the same unit in the 80s
Is he looking to get rid a backhoe? I’m about an hour north of possum trot
That fruit on the vines are called passion fruit
Well Done for showing the worlds most infested distributor 1. and the worlds dirtiest carburretor.2 Both in the same video too!
Ants in the distributor is wild
100k subs congrats bud..
Great channel
You know how to cook with your videos
Can you please make a part 2I am begging you. I really want to see it drive.
Swap a better looking line off the bundle to at least see if you can get the boom to go up and down. Might help you get it moving
Keep it up. Great content.
Passion Fruit, also called maypop. Edible, but very seedy.
starting fluid is the all in one 😆
Congrats on 100k

Love these keep working on it

Starting fluid will flush the oil out of the cylinders. Can tear up the pistons and lock up the engine.
That clicking was the starter not popping out and actually engaging

yes do more
Get it going and working .

I was wandering that too. Brakes probably locked on it
Cant wait for part 2
Clean your points. Rotor and contacts on dist. Cap.
You could have tried to run the original points with the new condenser and try to rule that out as the problem
I want to see in the intake manifold, it may be full of mud nests?
great video👍 can you tell me what did you put the screwdriver on near to battery that started the engine?

that's a maypop fruit
Lowbuck garage has one of these things. Watched him get it running on utube.
Made them for ever 😮
Please part 2
The ants scared the crap outta me
She's mint 👌🏻
Or you could have dug the front end out. It's been buried for a long time. Can you find a different carburetor. Make a plan is it worth saving.
Come on go back there and make another one another one another one🎉

Best UA-camr ever
What was the vine?
That carb has clogged jets. Rebuild and try it again
NAPA can make hydraulic lines even on a weekend.
That fruit is a maypop, the native American Indians used to eat them . They turn a yellowish color when ripe
