Nice to see the two awesome rigs side by side in comparison and of course the super clean engine room. We have lots of 73s here in sri lanka as they were imported to the country's security forces in the mid 80s and all of them came with the 3b motor and they still run well under private ownership in super condition as they were retired and later auctioned. Never seen a 3f engine in a 73 as they were not imported to the country, yet we have lots of fj 40s which were later converted to diesel b engines Later the authorities halted auctioning the remaining 73s and restored them for military's high rankers' personal use. In the 90s the army got the delivery of the hzj 70 and they still run awesome to this day. Thank you again for the nice comparison.
I have a 96' FZJ73 soft top. It's a beast. 70s series were mostly made for military, mines, and rough hard places. They build them in Medellín and Venezuela. Lots of fantastic 4x4s down here in Colombia that are unknown to the US outside of niche communities. I much prefer the shorter wheel base land cruisers and 4wds in general.
@@CruisingTheLandyour buddy with the Colombia spec, does he have any socials to where I could reach out? I have specific questions about buying one when I'm in Columbia regarding soat and department designations on the plates. Also a few model differentiations. regarding specs, actually a bit reassured with the three 3f carb motor, I rode in one in Santa Marta but that was strictly mall parking lot to the mountain lol. Didn't get much daily driver experience. There's a few quirks regarding sale with outstanding debt tied to registrations and paperwork. Sometimes having to go manually, to another department. Expectations versus reality can catch you off guard down there. Too much information I know lol If there's any way I could get in touch with you or your friend that would be awesome, wouldn't mind if I could also chat ya up for a second, I've had a deposit sitting over in Japan for a couple years as well, I'm looking at both places right now, especially since passports are delayed. Thanks, and thanks for the video, that jdm domestic from is rad
TLC 73/74 are my favorite models and I have three kzj73 cars myself. there are no better cars! And by the way, there are mirrors on the red car in which nothing is visible.
👍 cool.. great video

I guess only the 71, but if someone have more info about it, please reply to this thread.
