Always a super clean install on the engine swap, if you didn't know, you'd swear it came from ther factory like that. A super clean and well thought out build, well done!
I appreciate you guys for showing this video. It really helped me to get a clearer picture of what a badass utility vehicle can look like. Excellent 😎💪
Very nice build! We are restoring a 1995 HZJ70 now down here in Central America, keeping the original 1HZ 4.2 but the modern diesel swaps go a long way on performance. Thanks for the video.
Wow wish I had the money, but I don't. I was given a 2002 kia sportage ago from someone at church, because they found out a didn't have a vehicle for 10 1/2 years. The frame rail and suspension is rusted and 3 ball joints loose. As soon as it does the death wobble, I have to get rid of it. Then it will be back to no vehicle. You guys do a great job. God Bless
So good! Did you have any issues with the chassis? Cummins have a strong vibration, with small chassis like this one I was wondering if its safe. Also the weight of the actual engine.
I know this is an old post but I’m from Florida living in Northern Philippines where new Jimny’s are cheap and sell like hotcakes. I bought a used 2020 that someone thought was a boat and destroyed the engine so I bought it for a cool $8500 and TDI turbos are easy to get but I remembered the 2.8…..am I asking for too much for the R2.8 to fit? I’m no mechanic but with the kit and willingness to learn I’m afraid to tackle the job but heat is a serious issue here. It’s like living in Miami but no cold months
I can't say for sure but I doubt it will fit in a Jimny. The engine is very wide because of the throttle and turbocharger, plus you need room in front for an intercooler along with the radiator.
@@WellSortedAutomotive Thanks for your reply I think you guys are great personally I would rather have something like that then pay 80 grand or more for one of those new trucks. Keep up the great work
Congratulations to the owner and builders for putting together a very nice 70. I'm digging everything about it, front to back, inside and out.
Thanks! It's a great rig that we really enjoyed building.

Awesome build 👏👏👏
This is awesome. Great content.
Very cool! The intake would not work off-road though, dirt, water, mud- scary. I guess a custom snorkel would be a pretty pricy addition.
beautiful

When attaching the engine to the chassis, was it necessary to make an adapter? Is it possible to attach it to the original hole in the old engine?
Does is it posible to set it as a amphibious and install a safari snorkel to that engine ?
The best 4x4s.Toyota!
What is the most complicated part of running this service?
So good! Did you have any issues with the chassis? Cummins have a strong vibration, with small chassis like this one I was wondering if its safe. Also the weight of the actual engine.
No, no issues, the original engine was also a 4 cylinder diesel so it's not much different from a weight and vibration standpoint.
This would be awesome in a Toyota gen 3 surf
Alternator is high but what about a water-proof snorkel?
Great rig. I am looking for fourth LC. Ball Park figure to do another like this?

This is a beautiful restoration!! Where did you get the handles from?
Overseas supplier, they are new OEM
@@WellSortedAutomotive recently got an LJ70 of my own in Kathmandu, and it needs some extensive restoration. Would appreciate a link, if possible.
that's an awesome build! can you post a link to the center console?
Thanks! The console is just one of the Tuffy universal units in the narrow size.
Did the engine connection to the original gearbox require many changes? Is there an adapter available on the market to facilitate this connection?
Same gearbox thats in the hilux so guess there is some thing out there for that already.
Excelente trabajo

could i put this in an lj78 ?
would i need the trans too?

How is the sound level inside the truck with the R2.8?
Not bad. You can tell it's a diesel but cruising down the highway with the radio on it's barely there.
great Job in the Front! Do you have the plans available for the people that are interested?
No sorry, that was just a one-off modification we did on the fly.
Anyway an awesome Project, I’ll follow it as reference for my hjk70 build. Thanks for the video!
You think the cummins would fit into a LJ7x cruiser? The engine bay is a few inches shorter. Would be cool to get rid of the slow 2.4L-TE engine
This truck is an LJ70 which originally had a 2LT-E engine in it so the swap is exactly what you're thinking of
@@WellSortedAutomotive cheers, now I read it as well. I somehow thought it was a bj70
Are you guys still in business?
Would this engine be enough for the 4 door lj78prado
Forgot to read the other comments. Awesome video!
Land Crusher
Where are you in colorado?
Buena Vista
I wish I could find a place install one in my jeep yj
What is the color called...do you have a color code?
This is the TRD Pro color Cement Gray that you can find on modern Tacomas and 4Runners
Nardo gray from toyota
How much did the owner invest?
A lot. 😉

dude- you can't show this thing without starting it up!!!
How much for this vehicle?
Not for sale, this was a customer's vehicle
@@WellSortedAutomotive what’s the price of this build?
not another primer grey build sheesh
You're not even gonna start it and take it for a spin? I guess it's a show pony then
