You would make it easier on yourself by fighting the fish and stripping the fly line in, but not past the tip. Let the rod tire the fish. Also. Keep the rod continuously in your right hand and grab the fish with left hand. Itll make a big difference
What creek is that? I just found your channel and I live in fort Oglethorpe and fish/kayak the chickamauga creek. Always looking for a new place to check out. New sub😄👍🏻
@@theeverydayangler That's definitely a damn good smallie, I use cast netted live baitfish when they won't touch lures. I caught a 5lb15oz largemouth out of a small shallow creek yesterday.
That’s was a big Smallie!! That was a tank!!
Love it 🐠🐡
That first fish was a SLAB! Great size for a creek/small river. Even better on a fly rod 👍
Thanks for watching!
Yeah that is definitely a trophy for this creek.
You had a great day on the creek!
It's not everyday you get one like that down here.. very happy 😂
I was heavy breathing along with you. Nice fish!
Oh yeah..heart rate up just from that lol.
one heck of a fishing outing my man
Thanks!
Great vid brother!! Congrats!
Thanks!
Very nice
I told you there was a big small mouth in your near future
Good job
Well keep telling me that then! 😂

And keep the rod under your right arm while unlocking the fish. It really comes down to an economy of motion.
Thanks for the tips! And watching the video. Hope to see more feedback from you in other video seriously!

Sick north Ga smallie, very rare. I caught some on Blue Ridge Lake but being looking for somewhere to catch them in flowing water.
Yes very rare for GA. People don't understand how much of a trophy that is for down here! Happy to have got it on the fly too..
Thats one of my favorite spots, but I catch bigger bass in another tributary
I've caught 5 different types of bass in that creek (that I could concretely identify) and a few hybrids
Me too... That's my biggest bass out of it though.. 🤐🤐🤐

Only bring the net when I don't need...stuff like this happens when I decide not to bring the net lol. 😂
