Great video i have 462 muffler moded and i run it with 25inch bar full comp full chisel great saw up to 25inch. It can pull 36 inch bar full comp but clutch suffers. if you use full skip chain at 36inch no problem. One of the best chainsaw videos 2023 :)
Add a West Coast Saw bark box and air filter to that 462 and it will really come alive. I noticed a difference in how it cut immediately. It’s a great saw stock, becomes a real animal with those mods.
I don’t understand what MM means ,is it modified (ported) ? I’ve tried starting my saws like you do ,haven’t been successful yet ,you make it look so easy . Master at work 👍
@@poparamiro I have been thinking about a bark box myself for my 462 m-s .It’s my go to saw except when I’ve bigger trees to deal with then it’s ms661 .I think you’ve posted some comparisons before ,l’m going to have to do some homework on mod’s 👍
462c is an excellent saw and I’ve known that it will defeat 500i with 20”-25” bar same chain. Surprised that the 462c won with that size bar though it did have a mm . 500i drink 🍺 to much fuel imho … thanks for this video
I really wanted a 462 for a larger saw but couldn’t justify the near $1,400 price tag so I ended up settling for a very nice stihl 064. The shop I bought it from had the history behind it and for $400 for the power head only, I can’t complain. Still really really wanting a 462 though. Light, powerful, high revving, sounds perfect with a 25” light bar for firewood
@@poparamiro I didn’t mean to sound like I don’t like the 064. Just a little too much saw but it’s really a fantastic saw for almost being 40 years old. I really like the old 0 series flat top saws from the 80’s-90’s. Almost like the 60’s-70’s for muscle cars and sports cars. Love your channel and your saws you feature no matter the color!

New subscriber here. I have a smaller UA-cam channel from Pittsburgh PA I run a 661 have been trying to decide on what smaller saw I should be buying 👍
I don't know what happened with the 500i .. it does have a mode where if you're limbing and not using much torque it will give you more RPM ..but then if you bog it the computer chops it down ..certainly it wasn't reving as well as the 462... you have to let the chainspeed build up. I have a 460 screamer with a bark box ...square ground chain its a great saw .. but not quite as good as the 500i with a 28" and BBox etc ... However if the 460's chain is a God chain square ground ..look out.
There is definitely some mischief about here 🤔The soot on the dogs, the different face on the end of the log, the new origin sticker on the 400, even different amounts of the bar nose sticking out past the log. I don't know what's all going on here, but I know I'm not seeing the full picture. Very nice comparison video otherwise 🤙

I have the bark box and air filter and it screams... The saw just screams. LOVE my 462. 3 point dogs too.
Stihl is indeed a perfect product, boss. but unfortunately the spare parts at our place are very difficult🙏🙏

What do you mean 500i 1.0? Is there another version? A 2.0? A 3.0?
It is the injection version, marked on the saw

STIHL 462 is a great saw but i heard they have bearing issues with a longer bar. Excellent Video as always Sir!👍
