While watching this series weekly, I always find it funny that Yuuya's mood basically swings from being in abysmal despair at his helplessness to being highly optimistic and hopeful then back to abysmal despair at his helplessness every few episodes. Few years later I only realized, "Ah, so his mood swings like a freaking pendulum. Well played."
Even though the ending was sooo disappointing and the synchro dimension arc had no reason to be 50+ episodes long,I've still enjoyed watching Arc-V,it had amazing duels,Yuri was an awesome villain(even better than Vector from Zexal at some points) and the overall tone of the show was nice.My only regret is that we didn't get to see Yuto duel that much and even though the female leads in this anime are treated much much better compared to the other spin offs it was still not enough. Thanks for the video man, looking forward to your VRAINS video :)
some other things i forgot to add - yuri was a much better written villain compared to zarc which is just ironic -the fact that the last 8-10 episodes of Arc-V's goal was literally to make a baby smile is just stupid and should've been treated differently.Even the Darkness arc of GX(season 4) makes more sense than this bullshit.
Honestly despite some of the problems this show had it still has a special place in my heart. It gave us some great characters and some of the best moments of the franchise
I agree the characters had dope backstories and the motivation between the dimension wars was sick. It really brought me back to GX / 5D vibes. It was like a fusion of those 2 series no pun intended 😆
@@KingKasper So you got nostalgia baited lol. Arc-V's fan service was so over the top with the legacy characters, that it just fell over itself and ruined all of them (besides maybe Jack). Disappointing really. It tried to be its own thing but the whole premise was so poorly executed that when I finished Arc-V, it left an awful taste in my mouth
I do think some of the legacy characters were handled better than others. Jack is great (as always), and - unpopular opinion - I think Alexis is better here than she is in GX. Kite and Aster, though, leave a lot to be desired (especially Aster). I like Kite's new design and the Cipher archetype, so I give him a bit more of a pass LOL
I don't. I might have if there was any balance to it, but as was, it horribly mismanaged the character economy of the already robust cast, and the favoritism with specific characters really showed the director's actual priorities.
I was so obsessed with this show when it was out and it'll always have a place in my heart, but the ending has so many loose threads. If the last few duels were about restoring EVERYONE instead of just making Riley smile, then I could've lived with that.
As an abridged synopsis Arc-V sounds like it should have been the best Yu-Gi-Oh series. It had so much potential in it's first couple arcs, arguably more than any previous show, but things absolutely ground to a crawl once they got to the Synchro Dimension. I honestly had to force myself to keep going with Arc-V by about halfway though that section pushed on purely by everything that had been set up previously and wanting to see how everything came together, sadly the show never managed to pick itself back up. It was such a shame that Arc-V went into such an awful decline as I adored it in the beginning but by the end I actually considered it to be my least favourite series. It's funny how ZeXal started out borderline unwatchable and turned into something incredible and then the very next series did literally the exact opposite.
Dang sorry to hear you felt that way! I personally liked Arc-V better than zexal. 5D is in my top 3 yugioh series and synchro is my favorite summoning mechanic so I had a soft spot for the synchro dimension
@KingKasper Honestly, I'm in the same boat. I actually started watching in season 2, entirely because I knew Jack was in the show and I wanted to see more of him (I'd just finished watching 5D's). As a result, I have a soft spot for the Synchro arc, despite its notable flaws... I can't really say the same for the worst parts of season 3 though. XD (I did go back and watch season 1 after finishing season 2!)
@@KingKasper Yuzu narrating: Only Zarc, Master of Summons, can keep the 4 worlds in balance, but when we needed him most... he vanished. Years have passed, and my father and I have found Yuya, the likely new Zarc, and although he has the potential... he still has a lot to learn to unite with his 3 fragments. But I believe that Yuya can save the universe.
I love Arc-V, it's my favorite Yugioh serie. You just missed the fantastic duel between Yuya and Yuri, it was incredible to watch. Also, I really dislike how the extension of the Synchro Dimension Arc, the fillers in the Academy Arc and the legacy characters ruined the show, since a lot of things was rushed at the end and we lost the duel between Yuya and his father, which is suppost to be the cerimonial duel of this show (and we even lost the duel between Yuya and Yugo in the middle of that). But even with this flaws, I still adore it and Yuya's deck is my favorite, it's the archetype that I most use in my locals 😅
Aye that's sick you run this deck at locals. Honestly haven't played in real life in so long but hearing stories like that makes me want to get back into it!
@@KingKasper I just try to be like Yuya in the manga, I tank the duel the most I can. Some decks cannot keep going against Odd-Eyes/Performapal. Also, my Supreme King deck is really good, summoning Z-ARC on the opponent's turn is insanely great :v

@KingKasper Nope. No mention of it even being a possibility and not only that, like he knew about Yuto being inside Yuya as it happened. Could've done it with Ruri/Lulu and Rin. Some Yu-Gi-Oh UA-camr had a Theory that Arc-V(Anime) was the continuation of the first four shows that got split into the 4 Dimensions that We see in Arc-V that represent the previous shows
So, to summarize what _Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V_ is about, it's about an entertainer/duelist and his childhood friend fighting off some great evil that threatens the multiverse with the help of their counterparts and tons of legacy characters from the previous series. Great concept for an anniversary season... if not for the fact that half of the production staff were relegated to work on _Yu-Gi-Oh!: Dark Side of Dimensions_ , head writer Tsumuto Kamishiro wasn't getting his scripts in on time near the tail end of the series (resulting in points where the animators weren't even sure what they were animating) that results in him ragequit out of the production (and even gave Konami the big "F*** You!" in his deleted Twitter account for good measure), forcing poor Katsumi Ono (the headliner of _Arc-V_ and long-time animator of the franchise from _Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's_ up until _Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS_ ) having to carry the entire series by himself which result in most of the plotlines being rushed and/or underutilized *ON TOP OF LENGTHENING THE SYNCHRO ARC FOR TOO LONG* , the much-loathed design of Zarc-Yuya reportedly came about due to an inability to finish a proper design on time, and don't get me started on the highly-polarizingly divisive ending itself. Yet, _Arc-V_ remained as one of the most memorable _Yu-Gi-Oh!_ series to date (for better or worse) as countless fanfics and stories spawned from it, seeking to rectify or even fix the series to make it satisfying for all the fans. In fact, even Konami itself knew of its divisive conclusion and decided to give _Arc-V_ the happy ending it deserves via _Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS_ ! Overall, _Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V_ is a fun show, just a lot more underwhelming on both fronts and yet still holding a place in the hearts of many _Yu-Gi-Oh!_ fans everywhere.

Despite what people say about this show, this is probably gonna be my favorite YGO for a long time, unless Japan releases a better MASTER Duel anime. I tried watching SEVENS but Rush is not for me. Anyways, I watched this YGO as it was airing and never having done that before it's really special to me. I acknowledge it has issues, primarily its legacy characters taking unnecessary spotlight and it's ending not reviving the fan favorite Yu-boys and girls, among a few other things, but I still think it has some gems hidden inside it. It has some great duels, awesome characters, top-notch music, and enjoyable villains. Is it objectively the best YGO you can find? NO. But I still think there's enjoyment to be found. Thanks for making the video, a couple of weeks ago was the 10th anniversary of the show's TV debut. It really got me thinking about YGO recently.
That's a lit take my dude! I agree this was my fav of the later yugioh series. Sevens was meh, go rush is a no go, hopefully whatever comes after goes back to the previous style! Thanks for watching fam 🙏🏽
Man, I tried watching Go Rush... it was fine at first, but season 2 was a way worse trainwreck than Arc-V or even Vrains could ever hope to be LOL After some nasty encounters with the fans, I've decided not to pay attention to Sevens or GR anymore.
@@gyppygirl2021 the fans can turn you away from stuff. But yeah I think it's fair to give the shows a fair shot. At least for us Arc-V fans we have duel links to look forward to
Overall good video but I feel like there's a few more key things that're cut from the story like. Like Yuto being introduced or how that he held back during the duel vs Yugo and that being why he lost, also the duel vs Yuya and Yuri which pushed him over the edge to turn into Zarc in the first place, and also how the Zarc duel was was like a 1v11 or however many it was. These seems like significant things that would be worth mentioning and overall might not even add a minute onto the video
I get there was already a bunch of stuff skipped as they were far less important like the youth division in the arc league championship though maybe Riley winning would be worth mentioning since it builds Riley's character early on, many other duels being skipped if they're small or not core enough make sense, but I feel like there are just some more impactful things that could've been included. Like mentioning when Riley gets introduced and that Riley wins the youth division should only take a few second, it's small but important enough to be put into the video imo
Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V is my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh series. It got me into the franchise, it contains some of my favorite duels and my favorite characters! (Like Dennis McField, he's my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh character) I understand this show is far from perfect, but I don't mind. It'll always be my favorite.
So, essentially a bunch of scientists succeeded in recreating access to the monster realm, allowing Zarc to transform himself into a chaotic being, but ultimately getting destroyed in battle, splitting up reality into different dimensions altogether (still connected, but no longer together). The power of the smile seems like a play in heart of the cards, wherein people's perception and experience with the game is a positive one as opposed to a negative one. Interesting.
I would love for someone to make a fan video of the duel between Yuya and his father that would've started had the series not ended. I wonder who would win...
I have only seen the original, GX, 5Ds, Arc-V, and bits of Zexal and VRAINS. This show was much more gimmicky like GX but it was also much better than GX. It was definitely more marketed for toys and kids than the others (most notably 5Ds which was much more serious) and I found that a bit annoying but the characters aren't bad. I really enjoy Shay and Declan's character arcs and screamed in delight when I saw Alexis and Aster again. But the ending was kinda meh and Yuya becomes just as irritating as Jaden in many duels but overall it's not bad. My order will probably stay at: Duel Monsters, 5Ds, Arc-V, and then GX until I watch some others.
this question arrogated me a lot, Is kite in arc v a different dimension to zecal dimension? if no where the hell was the Yuma, the barians and the arcs lights
Arc-V is an absolute mess of a show, and it has my entire heart. Yuya is my favorite YGO protagonist, Yugo is my favorite character in the series, and my favorite deck archetypes in the game are all from Arc-V - Speedroid, Raidraptor and Odd-Eyes. I know people hate Yuya’s “dueltainment” style, but I absolutely loved it! Performapals are the cutest things ever! I just wish they were good to use by themselves. I also loved the way Yuya won each duel using his dueltainment style. Also this should be a surprise, but my favorite card is Smile World. I loved how he used it in his duels. I also love Dennis and his Performages (Wish they would print out the rest of his cards or make some new cards) and last but certainly not least Yusho was absolutely amazing. His dueling definitely made me fill with wonder! All in all I love Performapals and their goofy/cute designs. Cuteness should always win lol (Said nobody ever)

Unlike everyone else I actually didn't feel like they spent too much time in Synchro Dimension I just think XYZ and Fusion should have had their own season and maybe have a few more episodes focused on the Bracelet Girls before they become a plot device.
That's a fair take. A lot of people hated the synchro dimension, but let's be honest. Synchro monsters were the best thing that ever happened to this game in my opinion
I liked this show(less than Zexal II) but still it was a decent yugioh. My main problem was Yuya. I can't stand him for 2 reason: firstly, he relies too much on action cards. Without them he could have lost against Edo, The professor, Kaito and most of his other oponents. Secondly, I hated his nonsense "egao" (smile) monologue that could turn any bad guy with strong conviction into a stupid smilling good guy, seriously that was too easy.
Saying you're too old for it is cap. 40 year old old heads be out here playing tournaments still 😂 I'm sure you can watch a couple episodes and see if you wanna continue
This season had so much potential but it lingered too long in the synchro world and gave no time to learn the story and reason behind Zarc and the zuzu. They also butchered the legacy characters and lost the chance to have all of the past protagonists to come together cannonicly to fight the rampaging yuya.
@@KingKasper I still think that Yuzu's development as a duelist was important enough to be mentioned. As for the Tyler sisters, it's just a personal nitpick that they weren't even mentioned when you were summarizing the heartland city arc.
@@StareachValcin Yuzu had potential to be even better then Yuya/Zarc but when she first met her fusion counterpart Serena, her character arc just went downhill since
Thanks for explaining, but still WTF I wish they didn't make the whole narrative so confusing and nonsense full of bs (they did similar in Vrains) The last YGO series with a cohesive story was Zexal (even though it had its own plot holes). Arc-V and Vrains had so much potential, and everything lacking in those series speaks volumes about the difference Kazuki made in any YGO project he was more involved with (even Dark Side of Dimensions is light-years better than Arc-V and that hurts a lot for me to type)
I don't like the english names cause it sounds cringe, in my opinion, i rather use their jp names cause it sounds cooler and it is their original name. Im fine with the english names in the duel monsters only, but from gx and onward, the jp names is better
The Arc-V dub is fine in my opinion. There are a few name changes that are questionable, but others I actually prefer - I associate the name "Kurosaki" too much with Bleach, which is a series I want nothing to do with LOL I still use Yuzu's original name, but I default to dub names otherwise.
@@KingKasper You didn't have to call me out like that 😭 Trust me I have my reasons but let's focus on the positives. Arc-v has my overall favorite designs for characters as there all unique without being over the top. As for the duels while there are certainly some misses when it hits it hits (e.g. the intensity of Shay vs Sora,Shay vs Dennis and the absolute overkill that is Yuya vs Selina and Lulu) I actually think action duels are awesome despite not liking action cards. I love how some legacy characters returned in this anime.
Same it was actually sick! Made it feel connected to the lore unlike how zexal made me feel
@@gyppygirl2021 kit was a badass and it was great to see aster despite his arc in this series. Destiny heroes are one of my fav archetypes in the game
I don't. I might have if there was any balance to it, but as was, it horribly mismanaged the character economy of the already robust cast, and the favoritism with specific characters really showed the director's actual priorities.
@@christopherb501 you win some you lose some I guess
XD
(I did go back and watch season 1 after finishing season 2!)
really liked this season of yugioh, but wish they slimmed down the synchro dimension and expanded on xyz and fusion
Good critique, I agree
disagree on slimming down synchro dimension season.
I wanted each dimension to get it's own season but with a bit overlap.
I feel like a good way to put it is like Avatar but with Yugioh.
Fusion=Fire Nation
Synchro=Earth Kingdom
XYZ= Air Nomads
Pendulum= Water Tribe
Haha I like this analogy
With its ending, if you're drawing _that_ parallel, it's better compared to that mosy easy of cheap targets.

@@KingKasperPlus the Roman-Numeral of 5 IS "V" hence Arc-"V" coincidentally the fifth show
So, to summarize what _Yu-Gi-Oh!
GREAT summary 💯

So, essentially a bunch of scientists succeeded in recreating access to the monster realm, allowing Zarc to transform himself into a chaotic being, but ultimately getting destroyed in battle, splitting up reality into different dimensions altogether (still connected, but no longer together).

The quality for the series has fell down hard especially for sevens and go rush...yikes 😑
Am I the only one who doesn’t see the resemblance between the 4?
They low key don't actually look alike haha
This anime show is exactly like the third and fourth movies. of MLP EG.
Interesting. Thanks for watching
This is Visas lore in a nutshell
Wow facts shoutout starfrost
I don't like the english names cause it sounds cringe, in my opinion, i rather use their jp names cause it sounds cooler and it is their original name. Im fine with the english names in the duel monsters only, but from gx and onward, the jp names is better
Ya dubs usually make things a bit cheesier but I honestly don't think it's that bad
The Arc-V dub is fine in my opinion. There are a few name changes that are questionable, but others I actually prefer - I associate the name "Kurosaki" too much with Bleach, which is a series I want nothing to do with LOL
I still use Yuzu's original name, but I default to dub names otherwise.
Nothing like seeing a video pop in my feed with a stolen thumbnail that's been edited with ai 🤣😂 doesn't even credit the guy it was taken from smh
Woops
"THERE IS NO NEXT TURN!!!" best part of the whole anime
🔥
While admittedly my least favorite ygo series I come back to it every now and then to remind myself the things I do enjoy about it
Say word you liked this less than Zexal?
@@KingKasper You didn't have to call me out like that 😭 Trust me I have my reasons but let's focus on the positives.
Despite having a large supporting cast they did a decent job at keeping job everyone relevant(Gx wishes) . Has a pretty strong start compared to other YGO series. Last but not least Sylvio is easily one of the most developed yugioh characters.
But yeah these would be my overall rankings for the YGO series.
1.Zexal
2.5Ds
3.Duel Monsters
4.Go Rush
5.Gx
6.Vrains
7.Sevens
8.Arc-V
@@JakeBosh15 bro I was riding with you all the way until I saw your list!!! 🫨 ZEXAL ABOVE 5D, GX, and the OG...I'ma forgive you for your sins cuz everyone's entitled to liking what they like 😂🙌🏽
@@KingKasper Hear me out, I actually think 5Ds and Zexal are interchangeable but the reason I put it below is because during the grand prix Yusei is pretty doing much 90% of the the work, like let someone else come in clutch. And finally til this day I dont understand why they decided not make Yusei and Akiza canon the setup was perfect, but no we get Yuma and Tori I call BS (yes I preferred Anna)
@@JakeBosh15 🤣 ok fair cristisms. I just genuinely think zexal is bottom 3 yugioh anime for me
I loved a lot of Arc-V but its a shame that its pacing just became a mess, had a ton of potential but then once you get part way through the synchro dimension things just start to slow down and drag out then everything speeds way up until parts of fusion that really just feel like filler, all leading to a rushed and somewhat unsatisfying conclusion.
The archetypes however are still some of my favourites across all of yugioh even to this day.
DDD's, Raidraptors, superheavy samurai etc.
It had too much going on to afford to have any boring parts but unfortunately it did!
So basically the dude keeps loosing.. hmm interesting 😂
Haha yep
Fun fact:yugioh arc v is my favorite series
Fun fact: Thank you for watching I really appreciate it
@@KingKasper no problem,good vid:)

Yes pandulums riuned the game
I feel they realize this and that's why they had to bring links into the game but that was just a bandaid instead of a cure
Everything was okay with Arc-V until you know all six souls of Yugo, Yuri and Yuto and Serena, Lulu and Rin merged making it impossible to see their happy ending. How was battling Declan the ultimate test and making his dad battle him at last but inconclusive. And how did they know making Riley smile is going to bring peace to the world? I really did wish they had a better ending.
The ending was pretty much just random stuff thrown at the wall. It was really disappointing

Celina/Serena was my favorite character, hate how she no longer exists at the end
Maybe one day we'll get another arc V continuation with her in it
I just never thought Yuya looked anything like his counterparts.
Facts low key
Same face yes but not looks and personality the yuboys a based on the summonig methods and have the same colors as them
@@Medinacrystalheart 💯
Where’s pikachu
Wait till you find out there's no Ash in this either
I dont see why pendulum monsters get hate. I love pendulum summoning.
Honestly dont like em but hey do you
Interesting video, wish the thumbnail wasn't stolen from another Yugituber and edited with AI though :/
You know what. Ima change it that's good input
changed it

@@foriambane9138 🤣 you right
It is impressive how little sense this series makes
LOL the more yugioh goes on the less and less sense it makes. It's all luv tho
Arc-V is actually surprisingly cohesive if you analyze it in-depth. It doesn't really contradict itself (unlike some of the other YGO series). The problem is just that the writing itself is not good later on... or rather that it varies wildly in quality.
sora the goat
He a lil unhinged but he cool haha
