Not gonna lie I genuinely think Yuma becomes a better character as the series progresses. Plus I find him a bit relatable. He starts off as a complete novice who only knows the bare basics but as the series progresses he slowly becomes stronger and stronger. Plus this kid has been through the ringer. He’s literally seen his friends turned against him and die right in front of him yet he still tries to do everything he can and still tries to be a better person.
@@phantomslay5612 Yes…And I do agree Yuma’s voice was annoying as shit at first but it’s kind of grown on me. Doesn’t change the fact the dub had several annoying moments but it was still enjoyable.
You got a piece of information wrong. Kite didn't lose to Mizar he actually won. What caused his death was he ran out of air on top of the constant use of the photon transformation.
@@KingKasperIf I remember correctly, I think they altered the wording in the dub to make it seem like he lost the duel. However, in the sub, he did win, but his spacesuit was damaged in the battle and he suffocated.

Also a few hundred thousand (minimum) unnamed people die at the start of finale arc. I'm pretty sure zexal still holds the record for the most relevant character deaths in a single arc, if not in yugioh in general.
My favorite Yugioh! At first I don’t like Yuma as well but he grows so much throughout the series and now is one of my fav protagonist. Also, Shark is the best character for me. I love him so much.
@@KingKasperI actually prefer Zexal to gx and the 2nd half of 5ds ( the first 50ish episodes were amazing). I feel Gx had no direction until like season 3 which really hurt it imo but I still liked it and 5ds 2nd half is incredibly mid. If had to rank them : 1. DM 2. 5ds (carried hard by 1st half) 3. Zexal (finished very strong imo) 4. Gx ( lacked direction for a majority of the show but was still a fun watch)
You didn't do bad at all summing up everything you could about Zexal, since there was a ton of things in the series that tended to come out of left field. At first, I really didn't like Yuma because I thought of him as a klutzy duelist who would just stupidly lose life points a lot of the time. But after giving the series another chance years later, meaning watching it on UA-cam, lol, I really have a lot more respect for him when his dueling got better, and he really just wanted to do what was right overall. The character developments were really deep in this series, so I don't know whoever those people were who said that they were barely there. The duel against Don Thousand was epic as hell, and it was funny how a card Yuma uses most of the time, was the one to seal the victory for him and Shark (I'm not spoiling what card it was for those who haven't watched it). My personal favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! series will always be the original (with 5D's being a close second), but Zexal has grown on me enough for me to give it some praise for being a pretty decent anime series. Finally, I really liked how Shark considered Yuma his greatest friend in the end. Sure, Shark is not one to always admit his feelings, but that duel when they first teamed up against those two a-holes who called themselves The Pack, helped him with the realization about what Yuma said throughout the series, "People deserve a second chance."
Thanks for sharing your thoughts man! It's definitely an interesting series I think the goofiness of yumas dueling is really what upset a lot of fans. But ultimately it was a cool ride. I too gave up on it originally but came back to it years later! 🙌🏼🔥
Nasch is pulling everything together for this, one of my fav characters in all Yugioh, also sub >>> dub, they edited alot of hype moments away, like Kaitos sacrifice
Keep in mind "taken to barian world" is a dubism. Everyone who was "sent to barian world" during the final arc straight up died and got sent to hell (which is barian world, though the dub understandably is more vague on that).
@@KingKasper yes. Also kite is introduced as a serial killer in the subs. The soul grab thing he does doesn't *have* to kill people if he's careful, but he doesn't care about that, so he just straight up kills them with it. So when he's said to have collected 17 Numbers in his debut episode - that's his body count of that episode. Additionally, not only do all barians' past lives end in death, but the subbed version is more direct that the reason shark and rio think they're reginald and rio kastle - instead of nasch and marin - is that they're literally possessing dead children with brain trauma (due to being past-tense when they decided to make them their skin suits), which affects their memory - up until dumon (who nasch got killed in their past lives) uses barian magic to fix them.
@@mystery8820 the hospitalizations were a dubism. In the japanese version, he literally shreds their soul when he rips the number out - killing them shortly after.
I remember watching Yu-Gi-Oh for the time as a kid and this was the first one I came across, my favourite character was Yuma I loved his positive and never giving up attitude. I felt this was well written as well as the storylines were fantastic as well full of adrenaline. This made you be on the edge of your seats. But most importantly you can learn life lessons from this Yu-Gi-Oh series. I feel you can relate to each of the characters the more the episodes goes by.
That never giving up despite facing hard challenges and learning from your mistakes to grow is exactly why I've loved yugioh all these years. Definitely agree with you bro 🙌🏽
15:53 We need Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal The Movie when it takes place in the Post Forever Zexal Season 3 Episode 48, where Yuma, Astral, Seven Revived Human Emperors and all their buddies going to Astral World two face of the new darkness plaguing the Galaxy
United we stand and the harder we fall, the Zexal Masters and Seven Human Emperors will fight together against the great darkness that stands in their way
I really like Zexal. Yes, the first arc is almost unwatchable. But then Yuma's voice actor (dub just to be clear) settles into the voice and it stops being annoying seeing Yuma make novice mistakes, instead having him make normal mistakes, and develop in his strategies. Like, after that first set of episodes, Astral gives a suggestion, and either Yuma's already on top of it, or he goes along with it, instead of butting heads every time. His enthusiasm gets tempered with experience, and his off-the-wall strategies start to pay off more often, like that final duel against Nasch, where canceling his own attacks ended up being the win condition, even if on the surface it was a suboptimal play.
And Yuma and Astral combine their strengths during duels, Yuma’s human like nature allows him to believe in hope and luck (which save them a lot in duels an example being Yuma and Astral vs Alito round 2) coupled with Astral’s formulaic decision making, also I watched it subbed which is a lot better
@@KingKasper but the original was a mess, they had no idea what they were doing half the time with it. It had a really bad pacing problem after the duelist kingdom arc. There are way to many flashbacks and reexplaining card effects that were just said about ten seconds ago. Most duels are 4 episodes and at worst 6 episodes. The other shows don't have this problem as they aren't running along with a manga and don't have to put 4 filler arcs into their already bloated episode count. DM should have been around 120-135 episodes, not 224. I honestly prefer Season 0 and VRAINS over it as well. Even with VRAINS being super boring for the first 2 seasons whenever Playmaker is dueling.
I love Yuma as a main character, I don’t care what you say about him, he was so interesting and I remember as a kid watching him and I loved his catchphrase “feel the flow” and especially “high five the sky”
loved this series, nostalgia is a big factor as I would only watch the same 10-20 repeated episodes on CW4kids as a kid but loved it, got a chance to actually finish it and watch all the episodes in order
That's dope that this got you into the series! OG Yu-Gi-Oh definitely elite. I'm torn between GX and 5d in second place...from an anime perspective I prefer GX but from a card game perspective I prefer 5d. Arc V I need to catch up on! Thanks for watching 🙌🏼
@King Kasper yea and got to admit gx in second place make since since it was cool Arc V, let be honest, this one makes me rage and scare to face because so many combo can be made here, at least zexal you can counter it and they only limited Also the reason I like zexal more, yuma wad my favorite because he felt more real to new players or players that started good, and Astral, both them learn and grow and yuma become the best, even in manga he is beast, Plus utopia is amazing and my favorite card but he place number 2 and galaxy eyes is number 3, the number one got to be utopic future, like, the effect is so much a comeback and drago utopic is crazy they are my favorite, so what your favorite cards
I like Zexal a lot and one thing that makes me like it is, that he doesn’t start out really powerful like the last 3 shows, Arc V somewhat does this but he still was a pretty good duelist at the start while In Zexal starts out as a complete noob and becomes a incredibly powerful duelist
I watched this show when i was a kid and last year i rewatched it all through and honestly i loved it, it was so nostalgic to see this show again and i loved seeing how yuuma grew through the show
The next time anyone says Zexal has 'a lack of character development' I will gladly point them to Arc V to show them a show which screws up character development so much it's basically nonexistant. I'd also point them there if you want an annoying main character (It's more I am sick of the smiles bs Yuya spouts both in the sub and dub, if it wasn't forced I'd enjoy Arc V more than I did, and I don't mine Arc V's existance but it could have been way better than what we got) I'd rather Zexal over Arc V, thanks. At least Kattobingu/Feeling The Flow feels more like 'I won't give up in the face of seemingly impossible odds' instead of feeling forced and I guiltily enjoy it for that
@@KingKasper Zexal was kinda lackluster in some departments but they did a better job with it than they did with Arc V. I will certainly admit some of the character arcs make no sense (Last season Shark and Rio) and characters can be percieved as annoying but despite it I found it enjoyable
So glad you uploaded this! I had a customer the other day watching YT and I heard the opening and couldnt put my finger to where I heard it. NOW I KNOW! My man was a fellow KK watcher! Edit: I've only been a sub for a week or two now 😅
Zexal is such an amazing series the light comedy only happens in the first quarter of the anime the deeper darker tones come in literally in the middle of Zexals run I enjoy every single moment of it I’ve watched all the Yugioh anime before and after and this is one of my favorites the story and tone of the story is great, character development is a lot better than people think he ends up being one of the worst duelist to being one of the many best with an amazing extra deck
I play the card game a lot skill. Now that Konami has moved on to Rush Duels, and sort of ‘ended’ development of the OCG/TCG, I’ve decided that Xyz summoning is the best summoning method. It’s the easiest, most consistent, reliable, and fun one they’ve got. Without the monsters summoned being too OP, having actual limited resources and such.
You know, Yuma is so annoying at the start of zexal. Then there's episode 13... The first time Yuma gets absolutely WIPED THE FLOOR WITH. I love S3 btw
Honestly, one of the main reasons i see people complain about ZeXal is because Yuma isn't like the previous protags, who were always at the top of the game, and beating everyone left right front and center. And it makes me so mad, as i see a lot of my early days of Yu Gi Oh in Yuma, missing activations, saying what i'm setting, trying to keep my monsters alive etc. But overtime Yuma gets better and gains Yu-Gi-Oh Protagonist BS, making it the Yu-Gi-Oh people wanted to watch... But barely anyone watched passed the first season
You not wrong but he was just so lack lustre as a character and when he did get lit it was the zexal power up bs. Ya I know it's like pharaoh and yubel but it didn't seem as "earned". Plus yusei had no "double" and was just out on his own killing it so it was too far a step back imo
Only in the west. In japan zexal was as if not more popular than 5ds. Hence why they're always making merch for it over there for side characters like Anna Kaboom and the arclights - not just the main 3 and sometimes akiza.
So, I got a real spicy take here: Zexal is probably my second favorite YGO... but I find the fans _absolutely insufferable._ Whether it's telling people that the dub is shit and you aren't allowed to watch it, or saying that the second half is peak YGO - it _isn't._ It's rife with problems that it just takes a small amount of deeper analysis to locate, and I find that infuriating. To me, the best part of Zexal is the World Duel Carnival... which is still pretty flawed, but I absolutely fell in love with the Arclight brothers. They're genuinely the main reason Zexal is my second favorite. I just wish it didn't have things like that rollercoaster duel... Also: Yuma's development is not a steady upward climb. He gets better for a while, and then he regresses. Hard. If anyone tries to argue that Vector's redemption was a good thing, I have a whole 20+ years of writing experience that say otherwise. Last but not least, to conclude my Zexal rant... Kite got done even dirtier than the entirety of 5D's.
Completely logical points! Especially about people saying you can't watch the dub. Tired of these sub snobs. Watch whatever you like breh 🤣. You valid in these comments 💯
I don't think he got done dirty.. (Huge spoilers for S3) EXCEPT HIS DEATH. THAT WAS DONE SO DIRTY. *THE WORST DEATH SCENE IN YGO. (at least the dub version)* The Dub isn't insufferable (it's probably only Vetrix and Faker I cannot listen to) but the sub also struggles a little (looking at you, Duel links Kite) Though I absolutely agree with how insufferable some fans are. The second half being peak? No. I think it's the second half of S3 that *could* be considered peak. The end of WDC leading into the gathering of the mytherian numbers was such a boring stretch. Tbh I only watched that part for Kite 😂 ALSO: The Vector redemption arc is just as bad as Yuri's, if not worse. Yuma is so STUPID, HE'S NOT YOUR FRIEND, HE KILLED YOUR FRIENDS AND KILLED OTHER BARIANS. *I know Yuma is still my 3rd favourite protagonist but he has too many flaws*
'goofy tone, lack of character development, animation style, intro of xyz monsters' I genuinely hope these are not your personal criticisms of the show, because they are all wrong. ZeXal is known for its character development, in fact, it has the most out of any other series, Yuma, Shark, Kaito, the arclight brothers, Astral, literally 95% of the important cast members develop, so i don't know if we're watching the same show. Goofy tone? Sure, it was goofy at the beginning, but this was important as it would make the dark shift much more shocking and effective, and not feel forced, whereas the reason 5D's suffers post dark signers arc is because we were thrown into it. It certainly wasn't goofy all the way through, one of the darkest moments i can remember is Vector's backstory (don't know if you watched the english or japanese dub) Animation was peak in ZeXal XYZ monsters were generally very well received it's just your personal bias
Those were criticisms the show received online during its run. If you love the show that's great 🙌🏼. As for me I prefer the first 3 series. To each their own I guess 🤷🏽♂️
Character development... character development... Did you really said character development? Zexal has litherally one the worst characters development in yu gi oh. Yuma never changed, his personality remained the same for the entirety of the show, also they tried to make a story about a kid who can't play at yu gi oh but he never develope, he always relay on Astral untill the last episode. Also why not Talk about how this show treated the other characters? Kite basically passes from being a protective big brother to having a beef with a chinese dude. Vector becomes good at the last moment just because he got beated up by his boss. Don thousand and Heartland are evel just because why not? Bronk existed only to be the fat guy of the group and when he had the chance to develop with his crush on Ryo he get over Shadowed, EVEN HIS DUEL WITH MARINE GOT CUT! Also how can i not talk about the girls... Tori, Katie and Annah exist only to be the simps of Yuma, they never change or develop, they start as annoying simp and they end as annoyin simp. The only exaples of good character development in this are Astral, IV and Shark (zexal 1). Astral in particular was genuelly good (even if it's basically an Atem cheap copy) because he alway try to understand the world he live in and the humans Nature, also he tries to regain his memories and he suceed. Sorry if i sounded rude, but i'm always trigeredd when some one says that Zexal has good character development or a good character writing in general because it's not true.
Vector being a complete evil troll was bad enough but the earliest red flag was "Ray" played horribly in the 2v1 against Girag... on purpose. Like he was setting Yuma up since the beginning. Dammit, we should have known the Ray Way was always the wrong way.
@KingKasper we just had the first run, Zexal and following emulate the DM to GX to 5Ds. For us that was so amazing that Konami decided to recycle it for the next gen of fans
This is another frustrating thing for dub viewers but: Trey and Quattro's REAL names weren't mentioned once in the dub, Quinton's real name is Chris Arclight, Vetrix's is Byron. For those who never heard their names because of dub, Trey and Quattro's real names are Michael and Thomas Arclight, respectively.
XYZ was so underwhelming at the beginning that I truly thought XYZ was created before Synchro but decided to use it because it was better design mechanic. Comparing Stardust to Utopia is so lob sided it’s not even funny, but after time went on they got better and I think they’re best special summon in the game
First of all the fact that you have Wendell as your display pic makes what you're saying 10x more valid. While I still think synchros are the best I respect the comment 🔥😂
Only thing I liked about Zexal (I watched the Subbed version) some of the OST and Ending songs, BGM, Galaxy-Eyes, Gimmicks Puppets, Number 101 & NC 101, Kaito, Vector, and I guess more Utopia forms.
Bro i highly suggest you watch the sub version, the difference between the sub and the dub is insane, the dub version is a rotten trash compared to the sub version
I've watched zexal and can confirm this is more enjoyable than watching the actual anime. I liked the early sagas of the show but once the barrion stuff started it felt like a slog to get through, and i had to actively force myself to finish watching it.
@@KingKasperZeXaL's early manga chapters and early anime episodes happen the same way, but the stories of the respective material divurge into their own storylines
If you subscribe to the spellcommander theory - the upcoming threat is the fact that astral gave everyone magic at the end of zexal, which would allow z-arc to fuse with his ace monsters and destroy the world in an even farther future without using any numbers or millenium items. Since astral giving humanity the power of chaos is akin to giving everyone on earth their own millenium item.
S1 was honestly pretty meh tbh. But S2 and 3.. Wow. BTW Kite is the best. No questions asked. I don't care what anyone says, there's a reason why he's my favourite yugioh character. :D He's the best :( shame *THAT HAPPENS* in S3. Please watch the sub of Zexal. PLEASE. Especially for S3.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal had a manga I know because I seen in when I was in High School. And of course it was different from the anime. So any claims that it never had a manga is lying!
@@wolfman370 gx also had a manga. What I'm saying is never based on a manga meaning it had a completely separate story which was not based on the manga meaning adapted from one to one. I actually enjoyed this series. The next one however I was unable to get in to because the beginning character was such an idiot If you thought Yuma was bad the next character was on steroids for the stupidity I gave up like 3 or 4 episodes in and moved on. It didn't help that his deck was all based off of clowns. And I haven't even bothered with watching sevens although I did catch some fancied episodes of vrains. If I can ever track down the entire series i'd like to watch it it looks pretty interesting
Seriously yugioh has gone down in quality to me after 5D's. I feel they make it too "kiddy" every season but I've heard promising things about vrains. The fact a man is using a clown deck and character design is not giving me hope for Arc-V. That's why I haven't had to urge to watch it
@@KingKasper I don't remember where I watched them but I caught like the first 15 episodes of vrains. The main character is more of the Serious little time for joking personality type. A genius hacker. With a tragic childhood that isn't fully revealed in the first few episodes, But is the driving factor for his actions in the anime. The world itself is based around virtual reality think Meta on steroids. That exists solely for the purpose of doing. People log in the online world is called vrains of course Where they hold their duels. That are streamed live around the world. Of course it wouldn't be a yugioh without an evil organization somewhere trying to do shady s***. Again only 15 episodes before I couldn't find anymore so I don't really know what's going on. But the main character has some kind of beef with them and Actively hunt them down. And he's got an AI companion that pretty much fills the role of astral. Except this MC doesn't need advice he's already a master dualist.
After i adored 5ds , ZeXal came out....i was almost about to quit yugioh and only loved it again when Arc V came out.....Zexal was too weak and predictable for me... I only liked Vector.
predictable? so you predicted shark was a barian from episode one yeah? you also predicted from the moment rei shingetsu (or ray shadows if you're a nasty dub watcher) was introduced, he was a barian yeah? And don't lie by saying you did
Honestly i dont have any idea how to play this yugioh XYZ thing in duel master do i need to watch the whole anime to learn how to use this deck and also the link fusion something it pissed me off when dueling those decks 😂😂😂
Yeah this is what I hopped off of Yu-Gi-Oh for real cuz Yu-Gi-Oh zexal was just such a turn off I was already annoyed with the summer mechanic and Yuma was an annoying protagonist like I get it he's a young kid or whatever but the way they wrote him was just so aggravating and did you notice how Yu-Gi-Oh zexal and Arc 5 and sevens and Gold Rush their protagonists are so aggravating that they're not memorable while Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh GX Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds and Yu-Gi-Oh VRains are memorable they're protagonist yet might not have lost or they might lost one or two rules but they were more enduring than the protagonist of the series where oh they're supposed to grow and change looks like most of us Yu-Gi-Oh fans don't care for these new generational style protagonist the ones that are heavenly annoyed and lose a lot in order to get character change and development. I don't know to me the show just wasn't all that interesting It just makes you long for Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh GX and Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds sadly. But I tolerate Yu-Gi-Oh zexal more so than arc 5 7s and Gold Rush
I didn't understand most of the important things I wanted to knew coming here.. ho kaito and four and the other characters that died are resurrected? ..the video was so bad explaining the series
This series was god awful. Here's what we don't want in a protagonist. An absolute goof ball who is bad at dueling. Sorry.. I don't want that. No one disliked Yusei. No one disliked Judai, and no one definitely disliked Yugi. Judai was a bit goofy but he was a hyper competant duelist. It was cool seeing that he was talented even if he was a bit book dumb and not school savvy. Even found a way by season 4 to tune up his look to be more in line with a traditional protagonist. Sharper edges, wilder hair and sharper eyes, taller, and the infamous tail cuff jacket. Yuma just didn't fit that mold and dare I say it of the Studio Gallop era he is easily the worst looking protagonist easy. This was the start of multicolored hair phase of YGO where it wasn't just the protagonist messing with highlights or something. Everyone had it like it was some genetic abnormality. But for some reason Yuma had like a clear slick top behind the spikey look. They also went for more color which I guess is just contrast to 5Ds as it was very much a dark scrapheap vibe based on Satellite where as Tomorrowland is colorful, bright, clean, and futuristic. The jacket is kind of cool but Yuma comes wiith the ugliest color scheme of a shirt They also went with a new art direction for characters which is to make their stances wider with bigger eyes and head. It makes them look scrawnier like a bobbel head. All and all Yuma sucks. Yuya also sucks. It took 2 series for us to finally get back to a likeable protagonist i.e. Yusaku who yes had his problems. He was an absolute brick in civvie form but his backstory, motivation, VRAINS avatar, and deck theme were all cool af.
I’m gonna stop you right there. You lied in the video. Yuma didn’t collect Trey’s numbers during the fight with Trey. He collected them AFTER the Sphere Field Dual with his father, Vetrix.
I was 10 when Zexal came out... i've hated that show so mutch that made me quit watching Yu-gi-oh. HE WAS 13! every day i've wished for 5DS to come back, i've wanted all the characters i learned to love back, i've wanted my hero back... i will never NEVER forgive Zexal for what it did, it made me hate and quit somethin i loved and even to this day i watch every Yu gi oh series after Zexal with disgust realizing how they decide to maintain the standards of that shitty show.
No. Yuma cancels their final attack with Utopia since he didn’t want to lose his fiend Shark. Due to an effect of one of Nasch’s cards he loses since the attack didn’t go through; if Yuma didn’t cancel the attack Nasch would’ve won
@@phonepup06 Nasch CHOOSES to activate a card which made his life points the same as the change in Yuma’s life points which didn’t change because Yuma stopped the attack. If Yuma had kept dueling all out then Nasch would’ve beaten him
It takes elements of the first 3 series and makes them better. The Yugi and Atem relationship was terribly done and the two can hardly be considered a duo, whereas Yuma and Astral are a much better duo who help each other grow. This is just one example of how it’s not a cheap copy of dm

Nope. Kite beat him. I believe it was an OTK.

1. DM
2. 5ds (carried hard by 1st half)
3. Zexal (finished very strong imo)
4. Gx ( lacked direction for a majority of the show but was still a fun watch)

That's dope man! Crazy all the different Yu-Gi-Oh series over the years and what series everybody starts at
Kite: The guy who runs the most OP deck.
Yuma. The guy who quit playing after Synchros.
🤣 screw Yuma

Wait hold on cause you not gonna disrespect kite like that kite won the duel he just died because he has no oxygen left in his suit
🤣 either way that mf got slumped
Keep in mind "taken to barian world" is a dubism. Everyone who was "sent to barian world" during the final arc straight up died and got sent to hell (which is barian world, though the dub understandably is more vague on that).
Oh so we got "shadow realmed" again

I felt this was well written as well as the storylines were fantastic as well full of adrenaline. This made you be on the edge of your seats. But most importantly you can learn life lessons from this Yu-Gi-Oh series. I feel you can relate to each of the characters the more the episodes goes by.

@@praxter5638 welll it’s certainly not a bad arc, but Barian emperors onslaught and Mythirian Numbers war arcs were much better imo
@@fxzzy__ Imo it is has villains ten time better than gx or 5ds
Well at least somebody likes this series
Just reminds me of a futuristic worse version of the original

The next time anyone says Zexal has 'a lack of character development' I will gladly point them to Arc V to show them a show which screws up character development so much it's basically nonexistant. I'd also point them there if you want an annoying main character (It's more I am sick of the smiles bs Yuya spouts both in the sub and dub, if it wasn't forced I'd enjoy Arc V more than I did, and I don't mine Arc V's existance but it could have been way better than what we got)
I'd rather Zexal over Arc V, thanks. At least Kattobingu/Feeling The Flow feels more like 'I won't give up in the face of seemingly impossible odds' instead of feeling forced and I guiltily enjoy it for that

Glad you liked this one bro!
Zeal?
That’s the first time I’m learning of this phenomenon.
Yep!
Fun fact Yu-Gi-Ohs creator had a close tie in the creation of zexal and its characters and plot. He also pitched the idea for synchros pre 5ds
Wow that's amazing! Especially the part about synchros
I really liked the animation and the summoning of the xyz monsters
It was pretty cool!
Personally, I still think that synchro summoning was the peak of the game, but to each their own... also screw rush duels lol
You know, Yuma is so annoying at the start of zexal. Then there's episode 13... The first time Yuma gets absolutely WIPED THE FLOOR WITH.
I love S3 btw
Was a pretty good ygo anime!
@@jaernihiltheus7817 Ngl i'm pretty sure 5D's is more popular than ZEXAL in Japan.
(Huge spoilers for S3)
EXCEPT HIS DEATH. THAT WAS DONE SO DIRTY. *THE WORST DEATH SCENE IN YGO. (at least the dub version)*
The Dub isn't insufferable (it's probably only Vetrix and Faker I cannot listen to) but the sub also struggles a little (looking at you, Duel links Kite)
Though I absolutely agree with how insufferable some fans are. The second half being peak? No. I think it's the second half of S3 that *could* be considered peak. The end of WDC leading into the gathering of the mytherian numbers was such a boring stretch. Tbh I only watched that part for Kite 😂
ALSO: The Vector redemption arc is just as bad as Yuri's, if not worse.
It certainly wasn't goofy all the way through, one of the darkest moments i can remember is Vector's backstory (don't know if you watched the english or japanese dub)
Animation was peak in ZeXal
XYZ monsters were generally very well received it's just your personal bias

Damn sounds like we're in the same boat. I need to finish Arc V still I fell off heavy after zexal came out! How is Arc V?
@@KingKasper Arc V is amazing with all its mysteries and fanservice..but fails hard at the end. Like, ultra hard.....
@@randomedgygamer2191 danggg alright guess it's time to watch this trainwreck unfold 😂🙌🏼
predictable? so you predicted shark was a barian from episode one yeah? you also predicted from the moment rei shingetsu (or ray shadows if you're a nasty dub watcher) was introduced, he was a barian yeah? And don't lie by saying you did

Yeah the shows haven't been based on a manga since the original, from gx onward, the manga released afterward
Ya pretty wild to think
I liked zexal ,the only thing keeping from zexal being good is the dub
Zexal was cool. Which was your fav yugioh tho?

What's it about?
@@KingKasperbasically about soccer but much more interesting than a normal soccer match, try giving it a watch:)

Im not usually that guy but mangas better
The Zexal manga is a better retelling of ZEXAL I but not Zexal as a whole
Maybe I shoulda peeped that instead
Ahh interesting
@@KingKasper yeah the manga went straight into the action after a few chapters
The manga is way better. It doesn't waste time and goes straight up to the point and the ending is way more emotional.
Honestly i dont have any idea how to play this yugioh XYZ thing in duel master do i need to watch the whole anime to learn how to use this deck and also the link fusion something it pissed me off when dueling those decks 😂😂😂

Zexal also had the weakest character designs of the first four series.
Agreed low key
I made the mistake of watching this show in my teen years
Now I cannot stop calling it Yugioh Zexual XD
LMAO that is hilarious

Atem is thst you my boy?
😂 it just might be
Yeah this is what I hopped off of Yu-Gi-Oh for real cuz Yu-Gi-Oh zexal was just such a turn off I was already annoyed with the summer mechanic and Yuma was an annoying protagonist like I get it he's a young kid or whatever but the way they wrote him was just so aggravating and did you notice how Yu-Gi-Oh zexal and Arc 5 and sevens and Gold Rush their protagonists are so aggravating that they're not memorable while Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh GX Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds and Yu-Gi-Oh VRains are memorable they're protagonist yet might not have lost or they might lost one or two rules but they were more enduring than the protagonist of the series where oh they're supposed to grow and change looks like most of us Yu-Gi-Oh fans don't care for these new generational style protagonist the ones that are heavenly annoyed and lose a lot in order to get character change and development. I don't know to me the show just wasn't all that interesting It just makes you long for Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh GX and Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds sadly. But I tolerate Yu-Gi-Oh zexal more so than arc 5 7s and Gold Rush
I agree with you man. The first 4 yugioh series are my favs
No charector development? Bruh aside from jack this has the most charector development
🤷🏽♂️ zexal just wasn't my cup of tea
@@KingKasper valid
I didn't understand most of the important things I wanted to knew coming here.. ho kaito and four and the other characters that died are resurrected? ..the video was so bad explaining the series
Well dang
Yu Gi Oh Zexal honestly started off pretty terribly. And then the second half of the series ended up becoming one of my favorite arcs in Yu Gi Oh.
second half was def an improvement
The jacket is kind of cool but Yuma comes wiith the ugliest color scheme of a shirt
They also went with a new art direction for characters which is to make their stances wider with bigger eyes and head.
I still need to finish vrains. I did not really care for zexal compared to the previous series. I'm praying it's better
I’m gonna stop you right there. You lied in the video. Yuma didn’t collect Trey’s numbers during the fight with Trey. He collected them AFTER the Sphere Field Dual with his father, Vetrix.
Are you sure?
Yes. During the episode, the numbers vanish and only the Heart Piece is left.

I was 10 when Zexal came out... i've hated that show so mutch that made me quit watching Yu-gi-oh. Imagine grew up with Yusei and then see that cool and serius protagonist being replaced with a retarded kid... I HATED HIM! He is not my hero! he is not my protagonist! I couldn't accept some one who doesn't know how to play the game as a protagonist, even I knew how to play AND I WAS 10! HE WAS 13! every day i've wished for 5DS to come back, i've wanted all the characters i learned to love back, i've wanted my hero back... i will never NEVER forgive Zexal for what it did, it made me hate and quit somethin i loved and even to this day i watch every Yu gi oh series after Zexal with disgust realizing how they decide to maintain the standards of that shitty show.
I'm sorry this had to be your second entry into the series. The first 3 are far superior
Nasch let Yuma and Astral win
Thanks for watching!

Zexal explained in 4 words: SOULESS DUEL MONSTERS COPY
You not wrong 🤣
It takes elements of the first 3 series and makes them better. The Yugi and Atem relationship was terribly done and the two can hardly be considered a duo, whereas Yuma and Astral are a much better duo who help each other grow. This is just one example of how it’s not a cheap copy of dm
