Every muslim in malaysia have to adhere to another set of law (shariah) on certain stuff on top of the normal civil law. If you're malay it's a bit more stricter, that being said.... The majority has accepted this.

The pandan drink with 'selasih' seeds in English is 'basil seeds' which has many benefits included to control your blood sugar, improve cholesterol, good for gut health and many others. Meanwhile 'asam boi' in English is 'salted dried plum' which is good for sore throat and as remedy for cold and cough, and 'kedondong' in English is 'great hog plum' or 'ambarella' is good to bolster immunity, improve eyesight etc

I haven't been to Petaling Street and Central Market area in over 2 decades. Used to be one of my hangout spots back in the day. From your video I saw some changes in the areas but not to the extent where it's unrecognisable from 25 years ago.
Central Market used to be where you could see kids from different subcultures and countercultures intertwined. Metalheads, punks, skinheads, rastafarians, hardcore kids etc. I used to be one of them kids back in the 90s 😂. It's so different now from what I saw in your video.

Hi chai. Great to see you work so hard to promote West Malaysia especially Kuala Lumpur. Have you ever explore the truly Malaysia yourself? I mean EAST MALAYSIA--SABAH AND SARAWAK States in the continent of Borneo with billion years of the ancient rain trees forests. Great adventure surprise and more fun. Hope you are able to do aseries of videos soon to introduce Sabah and Sarawak too...

Normally back lane is not pedestrian friendly....where rubbish bin is kept...expect some form of unorganised rubbish here and there ...until recently back lane is upgraded for mural paintings or street art which is good actually, making the back lane accessible ...

If I may go into further detail, I'd like to say that many people, especially foreigners, confuse the terms "Malay" and "Malaysian," which are both differently recognised in legal terms. The definition of a “Malay” in Article 160 of Malaysian Constitution defines as a person who professes the religion of Islam, habitually speaks the Malay language, and conforms to Malay custom. However, it is not genetically referred to a particular race, instead, generally referred to a group of various tribes who originated from Malay Archipelago such as those residing from Southern Thailand and the Philippine to down south Indonesia like Riau, Javanese, Bugis, Minang Archean. Whereas Malaysian is refereed to anyone whose holding Malaysian passport including Malays, Chinese, Indians, Sabahans, Sarawakians and others.

Many years ago, on a connected flight to BKK, i had the chance to spend almost a day in KL. I remember that street well. Designwise, they do an amazing job but the quality is really not so good. Cheap clothing is ok but i'd not recommend cheap (bad quality) shoes. It's really bad for your health.
Great interview by the way. I really liked the conversation. Cheers from Koh Chang 🙋
