Why this Old Seremban Town remains slow in changes of its townscape, could be easily explained, if those who visited Seremban spend more time discovering it. Port Dickson is only about 20km from Seremban and KL is just about 50km away. Port Dickson for lurking, resting, and relaxing, KL for window shopping, entertainment, and working, and after all the hustle and bustle in KL back to Seremban either by KTM commuter, bus, or just drive. Going to Port Dickson is just a kind of going to your backyard. Slow drive in the morning to Port Dickson, enjoy swimming, light breakfast there, and back home in the afternoon and have your lunch by the seaside restaurant in Port Dickson. Back to Seremban -home sweet home. Tranquil. For that simple reason, it is not worth something modern and a wasteful concrete jungle in Seremban due to its nearness to Kuala Lumpur. So with hotels of different stars, we have it in Port Dickson. So, Seremban and its vicinities, stand proudly with big bungalows, villas, and spacy residential areas with 5 stars amenities. The likes of Planters Residential, Arden of Forest Height, Seremban 2 palatial residents, Sendayan Residents and avenues, and many more. Worth mentioning the only City Town with 4 Exits to and from the North-South Expressway in Malaysia. Senawang Interchange, Port Dickson Expressway Interchange, Seremban Interchange, and the Ainsdale Interchange. Further to that Seremban is part of the Greater Klang Valley. On both sides of the NSE or PLUS from Seremban to KL condos, high-rise residential are sprouting like no more tomorrow. All in all, Seremban Old City proper will remain serene still. Agree. You can go to KL using lekas highway. From seremban to putrajaya, alamanda is only 45 mins away. Can go jalan jalan cari makan to kuantan and kemaman via kuala pilah or jelebu and muazam shah. Cheers

From KL, u can explore so many places like Cyberjaya n Putrajaya. Heading south, u can visit Port Dickson n then head to Melaka. Just one to two hours from KL, there r many towns n cities n interesting places outside KL.
I Like Negeri Seremban, their house is very unique, it’s really different from other type of house. Especially the type of Minangkabau house, it’s very beautiful
oh dear, you came to seremban! once when i had to take 2 visiting filipinos around to experience some local sights and scenes, i took them to malacca because i couldn’t think of anything interesting for them to see and experience in seremban. but they liked malacca a lot. 😅 seremban is a sleepy town to me because it’s where i sleep at home after a hard day’s work in kl. 😆 i’ve read somewhere some years back that there’s about 30,000 people living in seremban who also work in kl and i was one of them. but i’m glad you got to see and experience some parts of seremban with all the “boring” things they have to offer. happy to learn that you enjoyed your time here. 👍🏼
You sound normal for a learner. Malaysians are generally very forgiving when it comes to language speaking. If you pay attention, Malaysians speak broken English, Malay, Chinese, Cantonese, Teochew, Hokkien, etc. We all know it is broken, but we don't really care, as getting the message across is primary. 4:12 Seremban Wet Market - a very very interesting market. Very busy. Too bad it was closed when you passed 4:16 Oldest mosques in Seremban, more than 100 years old. If you walk straight up that road, you will see a beautiful old Catholic Church and further up an amazing looking Hindu Temple. Maybe even pass the beautiful park. Seremban's charm lies in its laidback kind of life and secrets that basically locals know. Lots of KLites buy homes here because still affordable and travel to KL to work. They mostly live in Seremban 2 area which we oldies consider more hip 😂 We moved back here from Australia and love Negeri Sembilan! It's all about the beach, nature hikes. cave exploring, masak lemak cili api, siew pao and exploring hidden gems away from the city. So glad you saw the beauty of this underrated city, though. Hopefully, explore the state too, one day.

Best Murtabak and Nasi Beriani gam or hujan panas is Negeri Restoran near the terminal bas. If you walk towards the state administrative buildings you will find a Restoran selling delicious cendol, Sharff Cendol.

As a Negerian, if you prefer the city life, u will find Sbn boring as it is not as vibrant as KL. But if u prefer a more quite life, u will need to visit outside of Sbn town to experience the kampung lifestyle.

Di Malaysia people always use bercakap ( berbicara ), pandai ( pintar ), kedai ( toko ) pukul ( jam ). Bicara, pintar, toko & jam always use ini Indonesia.
Here's the tips, the more remote places you go, the more authentic food you'll see. For vegetarian, you may try a classic traditional malay dish synonym to Negeri Sembilan called, 'Gulai Lemak Pucuk Ubi'. But warning, it may be very spicy but extremely delicious.

Wow, very long walk you embarked there, from the Temiang area all the way to the downtown. Seremban is very scattered , another part is Seremban Dua (a new township), u need to use vehicle to reach there. Next part of Seremban is Nilai, about 30 minutes drive from downtown.

From Seremban, there is another really small village called Broga. You'll be blown away by its raw beauty. There is a hill where it's primarily vegetable farms. You won't be able to see a single electric pole.

Teluk Intan had undergone such drastic changes within 3 decades that I hardly recognised it. During my short stay (just a couple of hours to visit a relative) I saw nothing that could trigger memories of my teenage years growing up there. Anyway I thought I was the only one with such an opinion regarding comparisons between TI and Seremban. Apparently not! Loved your video by the way.

Seremban is really great and temple is there as well.Cookie shop was with friendly staff and oh you guys in Penang for Chinese New Year.This year Chinese New year of Rabbit is quite early,i think black rabbit is really fast.Though black cat is also involved in this year.That legendary bread roti marjerin manis,sadly new generation these days of Malaysia are kinda strange i guess so.Supao is wonderful and yes definitely worth waiting 2 days. and thank you for sharing this insightful video about Seremban.
Pat/Guila I strongly recommend you both should visit Taiping,Perak stronghold during British time before independence..The township is just beneath the famous Maxwell Hill and not forgetting Lake Garden 🏡 beautiful architecture buildings left to us by British administration after 1957 August 31st..A lot of first things during administration of country like first railway line,prison,club,muzium,golf ⛳ club,rubber tree,swimming pool(Coronation pool public) filter by mountain stream water beside and near the foothill of Maxwell Hill(bukit Larut)...Food is gorgeous and extremely delicious 😋🤤😋.Stay for few days not forgetting there is British WWll cemetery site before the Coronation Swimming pool one four burial site in Malaysia the other one is Changi, Singapore two I forgot..
Seremban have many delicious food place u can go and eat. Im living in Kuala Lumpur but working in seremban for almost 9 years. Frankly speaking, i do enjoy working there. It is really peaceful and relaxing. If u loves greenery pllace, maybe i can bring you hidden green area in Kuala Lumpur.
The old Seremban town used to be traffic jam before. To solve that, they built Seremban 2 town with proper bus/taxi station. But than so many merchants moved to Seremban 2 as old Seremban is slowing down. Much worse when many shops in old Seremban were closed due to covid.
negeri sembilan is titled darul khusus meaning the special state. it is special because its native malays follow two systems of property inheritance - one from father to son and another from mother to daughter. and the sultan of the state titled yang di pertuan besar meaning great raja or great sultan does not automatically ascend his throne, he has to be approved by four of his subordinate district chiefs first, and they are of orang asli (aboriginal, the first first austronesians in peninsular malaysia) descent.

It's the gateway to Malaysia and where many foreign offices are based at. It caters to a lot of international community. Interesting that you guys like exploring the non-touristy places. Hope you guys would do that if you guys is in Kuching.
Most towns and cities along the east coast is historical as those are the main settler back in the day - from KL to Seremban to Melaka and down to Muar and Batu Pahat in Johor. Batu Pahat is the closest to Indonesia and have immigration office and boats to travel across the Straits. It's common for the Indonesian people in the south to use this route and stamped their passport for re-entry to Malaysia. But it largely remains a small non tourist town, with big population 😄
All my life i have just realised that i have never visited seremban properly 😅, but anyway heads up during CNY many businesses will be closed in penang, at least for 2 days (and day before)
Whilst the large cities, skyscrapers and mega malls are impressive, I feel far more comfortable with the old area's of cities and towns. New malls seem to go out of favour very quickly, then fall to ruin because there is a newer latest fashion one built which is sad. At least this is what I have seen happen to an extent in Sarawak.
You guys look very rich and fancy but very humble too. But wearing that nice blazer under the sun, isn't it too hot. I like cassava leaf cooked with coconut milk too. In malay we call it pucuk manis. Add some cinnamon and nutmeg, delicious.

No... U guys actually walked passed the Hong Kong Meen that's near your hotel... It's nearer to the BMW showroom..I swear to God, that's my fav food in Seremban heheheh. My fav dish is za jiong meen. It has minced meat in it but I'm sure they'll happily take the meat off your dish if u request them too. Why I recommend this? They put 2 types of sauce into the thin noodle which I adoreee ahurjensbek!! But if u want a completely vegetarian dish. We have got Lei Cha, it can be found in Restaurant Hao Kai Xin. Anyways, u can find lei cha in Selangor too. There's 1 near the Petaling Jaya weekly night market that I fancy too. Next up, if u come back to Seremban again, u have to try the Teo Chew food in Ainsdale!! It's a little middle out of nowhere but it's goodd. They're not fully vegetarian shop but I always order these 3 dishes - peanuts, pickled vegetables & tofu too!! Ask them to 'lam zap' /add sauce on your rice!! My brother living in Selangor can't even find this TeoChew style in Selangor hahaha. Thank u for showcasing Seremban!! Here's the tips, the more remote places you go, the more authentic food you'll see.
For vegetarian, you may try a classic traditional malay dish synonym to Negeri Sembilan called, 'Gulai Lemak Pucuk Ubi'. But warning, it may be very spicy but extremely delicious.
Gulai lemak pucuk ubi. "Pucuk ubi" means "singkong shoot" that you like to eat.

Wow, very long walk you embarked there, from the Temiang area all the way to the downtown. Seremban is very scattered , another part is Seremban Dua (a new township), u need to use vehicle to reach there. Next part of Seremban is Nilai, about 30 minutes drive from downtown.
Your videos are awesome....remember the Straits of Mallaca have been the busiest shipping and trading route in the last 1000 years of human civilisation ( only recently superseded in shipping volume by the Straits of Dover). From Seremban, there is another really small village called Broga. You'll be blown away by its raw beauty. There is a hill where it's primarily vegetable farms. You won't be able to see a single electric pole.

Thanks for this. When I revisited Teluk Intan in 2015, after an absence of 32 years, I was immediately reminded of Seremban! Teluk Intan had undergone such drastic changes within 3 decades that I hardly recognised it. During my short stay (just a couple of hours to visit a relative) I saw nothing that could trigger memories of my teenage years growing up there. Anyway I thought I was the only one with such an opinion regarding comparisons between TI and Seremban. Apparently not! Loved your video by the way.

Dear Veggies, this is a really good video. I fully agree with you about how lovely the old shop houses are, and it's a pity to see some of them in a broken down state. Seremban is really great and temple is there as well.Cookie shop was with friendly staff and oh you guys in Penang for Chinese New Year.This year Chinese New year of Rabbit is quite early,i think black rabbit is really fast.Though black cat is also involved in this year.That legendary bread roti marjerin manis,sadly new generation these days of Malaysia are kinda strange i guess so.Supao is wonderful and yes definitely worth waiting 2 days. and thank you for sharing this insightful video about Seremban.

Pat/Guila I strongly recommend you both should visit Taiping,Perak stronghold during British time before independence..The township is just beneath the famous Maxwell Hill and not forgetting Lake Garden 🏡 beautiful architecture buildings left to us by British administration after 1957 August 31st..A lot of first things during administration of country like first railway line,prison,club,muzium,golf ⛳ club,rubber tree,swimming pool(Coronation pool public) filter by mountain stream water beside and near the foothill of Maxwell Hill(bukit Larut)...Food is gorgeous and extremely delicious 😋🤤😋.Stay for few days not forgetting there is British WWll cemetery site before the Coronation Swimming pool one four burial site in Malaysia the other one is Changi, Singapore two I forgot..

Seremban have many delicious food place u can go and eat. Im living in Kuala Lumpur but working in seremban for almost 9 years. Frankly speaking, i do enjoy working there. It is really peaceful and relaxing. If u loves greenery pllace, maybe i can bring you hidden green area in Kuala Lumpur.
The old Seremban town used to be traffic jam before. To solve that, they built Seremban 2 town with proper bus/taxi station. But than so many merchants moved to Seremban 2 as old Seremban is slowing down. Much worse when many shops in old Seremban were closed due to covid.

The signature thingy is the pork siew pau. But getting smaller and expensive. I never heard of vegetarian siew pau.
Most towns and cities along the east coast is historical as those are the main settler back in the day - from KL to Seremban to Melaka and down to Muar and Batu Pahat in Johor. Batu Pahat is the closest to Indonesia and have immigration office and boats to travel across the Straits. It's common for the Indonesian people in the south to use this route and stamped their passport for re-entry to Malaysia. But it largely remains a small non tourist town, with big population 😄
All my life i have just realised that i have never visited seremban properly 😅, but anyway heads up during CNY many businesses will be closed in penang, at least for 2 days (and day before)

Whilst the large cities, skyscrapers and mega malls are impressive, I feel far more comfortable with the old area's of cities and towns. New malls seem to go out of favour very quickly, then fall to ruin because there is a newer latest fashion one built which is sad. At least this is what I have seen happen to an extent in Sarawak.
You guys look very rich and fancy but very humble too. But wearing that nice blazer under the sun, isn't it too hot. I like cassava leaf cooked with coconut milk too. In malay we call it pucuk manis. Add some cinnamon and nutmeg, delicious.

No... U guys actually walked passed the Hong Kong Meen that's near your hotel... It's nearer to the BMW showroom..I swear to God, that's my fav food in Seremban heheheh. My fav dish is za jiong meen. It has minced meat in it but I'm sure they'll happily take the meat off your dish if u request them too. Why I recommend this? They put 2 types of sauce into the thin noodle which I adoreee ahurjensbek!!
But if u want a completely vegetarian dish. We have got Lei Cha, it can be found in Restaurant Hao Kai Xin. Anyways, u can find lei cha in Selangor too. There's 1 near the Petaling Jaya weekly night market that I fancy too.
Next up, if u come back to Seremban again, u have to try the Teo Chew food in Ainsdale!! It's a little middle out of nowhere but it's goodd. They're not fully vegetarian shop but I always order these 3 dishes - peanuts, pickled vegetables & tofu too!! Ask them to 'lam zap' /add sauce on your rice!! My brother living in Selangor can't even find this TeoChew style in Selangor hahaha.

They learn bahasa while they are in Indonesia, it is difficult for them to learn bahasa while in Malaysia, Malaysians usually speak english when talking to foreigners.
