I canned this and had about a pint left over, decided to make casserole with it, OMG it was so good my bunch ate the whole thing. I took angel hair spaghetti and cooked al dante placed in small casserole dish, took the pint of al a king soup and thickened it further with some corn starch and heavy cream and poured this over the spaghetti, cooked at 350 for 20 min, added about 1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese to top and melted this until browned, let stand for 5 min. GREAT!!!
Just a suggestion: I like to use potato flakes to thicken the canned soups. Works great in split pea n ham. It doesn't finish thickening until the jars cool down and it's easy to adjust when you heat it up. 🤓
I know this is an old video but have to let you know the best thing I ever invested in was an industrial or restaurant chopper for onions celery and carrots snd green peppers chops so quick if you are doing big batch canning.
Yum! Looks delicious. Making this right now along with you. I didn’t add the thickener and canned. I will add the thickener when I make the chicken ala king but I must say the stock was awesome. Thank you!
Oh Linda my son and I made and canned your sweet onion jam.I bought a fifty pound bag of onions and I need another one of ur great recipes and excellent pressure canning onfo . You are my You Tube Rock Star of the kitchen. And I love you on my FaceBook too !thanks
I like the All American 30 quart pressure canner - SO HEAVY DUTY and heavy. LOVE that I can double stack quarts - which means I can process 14 quart size jars at a time. So awesome when making large batches of soup or when a couple cases of Zaycon meat arrives. I will be trying this chicken ala king recipe. Ultimate comfort food on hand to serve over rice or smashed potatoes.
I'm really impressed that you're not only preparing your soup, but also prepping veggies for split pea soup. To have the time to work ahead, is always a good thing. Your chicken ala king soup looks so good, but will need to purchase the therm-flo and wine before prepping. Thanks for sharing your recipe. :) Gretchen
You need a veggie bullet. We purchased one 4 weeks ago and the prepping of vegetables has been cut down by 85%. It takes longer for me to bag than chop..... put it on your wish list you won't be disappointed. Happy canning 🤗🤠😉
I so enjoy your website, and watching you cook! Always makes me hungry. I'm going to try this cream soup recipe. I have always been reticent about adding cream to canned food, but as you said, you're still here! Keep up the good work.
First off, I love the puppy cameo. Lol. Way too cute. 2nd off, I was raised on chicken ala king. Sad to say, it wasn't homemade but it was still good. I miss it. Yum. That looks awesome
Hey Linda, I've just made this soup after waiting for some weeks to access the thermflo. Oh dear, it's bliss. I'm canning it too. Thank you. To die for !
Linda, I always love to watch your videos and have tried a number of them. Love the tips and the canning instructions. I love to can...so practical and so rewarding! Excited to try the chicken ala king soup and the split pea soup. Just put up some turkey sausage, northern bean, and kale soup 2 days ago and 10 pounds of chicken yesterday. Interested in the Thermo-flo. Have never seen it! Where can I find it? Thanks Linda...keep the recipes coming!
Thanks Linda - I'd hadn't heard of ThermFlo. I'm going to try this recipe and also use the ThermFlo with a Zuppa Toscana recipe I can (add the kale when I'm ready to serve)
SWEET MERCY!!!! My pregnant belly needs some of this in it. HAHAHAHAHAA I can not wait for the canning video! :D I think I will make this tonight for dinner. I bet my guys here would LOVE it! :D Thanks, Mama! :D
Ok And I think i`m just gonna make this for dinner and yummmmm !Cant wait for the next onion recipe and ur onion jam is excellent and canned up beautifully .Got so excited i forgot to tell you that in my post.lololol...(O:
I wanted to see how the Therm Flo works because I've been curious about Clear Jel, as well, and was trying to guesstimate how much would be required to thicken chicken soup. I just canned 18 quarts of chicken soup that needed 3 cups of flour to thicken. The newly made batch of chicken soup was adequately thick but results are sometimes less thick than desired. Those products are unavailable where I live and must pay hefty online $$$ to get them; I'm not certain that the results justify the added expense but still researching and keeping an open mind. Thank you for posting the video.
+PixieTrailSprite Search for a local Amish Store. If it's a drive.....just save up some money and buy a bunch when you go....it makes the trip worth while. I go to Country View Bulk Foods and it is totally worth the 90 minute drive each way.
Rani Carlesco Thanks for the tip. However, I live on the west coast--not a lot of Amish living here. I did run a google search, and the nearest store is some 600+ miles away. Cheaper just to purchase it on Amazon, but thanks for the info.
hi i'm your new subscriber i'm from switzerland i have a question what can i replace soundflwo, or has another name here in switzerland i've never seen it thank you if you answer me❤️❤️❤️
Linda, I love all your video's. This soup looks delicious and I can't wait to make it. I have a question... I canned regular chicken soup with the carrots. The soup turned orange and looked awful but tasted great. Did I do something wrong or miss something? My family ate it but I would never give it out because it looked terrible. I would like to make another batch, I'm just not sure what I did wrong. Thank you in advance... :)
I made your cream of mushroom soup! It was delicious...until I canned it..it curdled. I am not sure what I did wrong maybe I used too much wine in the soup? So I'm kind of gun shy of doing this recipe but it looks delicious!
This soup looks amazing! I was thinking of dumplings, too. lol But then I love chicken and dumplings. Just made some yesterday. I was wondering if you're not canning this can you use a cornstarch slurry to thicken it? I'm on a gluten free diet so I have to be careful. Thanks for sharing Linda! Take care :)
Linda, when I click on your Zaycon link it tells me that it’s referring me to a site that is impersonating Zaycon. And I cannot get to the website. Is this a website issue or is your link broken or corrupt? (I’m learning so much from you!!!! I wasn’t ever given cooking or domestic skills growing up and I’m LOVING you and your channel!!! Thank you so much!!!)
Linda, I think there may be something wrong with my audio card, because I keep getting these weird overlaps watching your videos where you're talking over yourself during the edits. Do you know how I can fix my settings so I don't miss out on any of your valuable information? And as always, thanks for sharing this recipe with us. I look forward to making it. Incidentally, I've never been able to grow pimentos in my area, so I envy you for that.
Girl, you need to watch out for your back while you are young so you don’t end up with chronic pain. Those pots are heavy, fill them up with the pot already sitting on the stove, or near the stove so it can be slid over without you having to lift the whole weight. I bet it weight 30 pounds, or near about, when it’s full like that. You can’t do proper lifting techniques when lifting a large pot because of the way you have to hold it. Love the videos you make, you will see I am watching old ones for ideas. I love the soups recipes. Can’t wait to try these myself.

How long did you can it for? 90 min ?

One of my absolutely FAVORITES! Fantastic Linda!
Linda, can you tell me how to use ThermFlo, I'm new to canning but like the idea of thickening my soups. Thanks.
I know this is an old video but have to let you know the best thing I ever invested in was an industrial or restaurant chopper for onions celery and carrots snd green peppers chops so quick if you are doing big batch canning.

I just canned Zuppa Toscana last week! I added the cream when I served it. I still don't trust canning any food that has dairy in it.
Looks wonderful. You are amazing as always.
I love soup!!
Love your Canning recipes. Where can I find the recipes
I'll have to say that you and my granddaughter make me nervous with that left hand. LOL can't wait to try this recipe! Thanks!
Hello Linda! I just watched this video again because I want to try to can this and the split pea soup!
Looks great! Going to try this....
This looks so good!!!! What is the difference Between therm flo and clear gel? I have clear gel but no therm flo.
Thanks Bev
Where do we get the exact measurements for all the ingredients?
I HAVE to make this soon. YUM!
I need to find a copy of that old canning book you have, because their website doesn't have that recipe listed. :(
SWEET MERCY!!!! My pregnant belly needs some of this in it. HAHAHAHAHAA
I can not wait for the canning video! :D
I think I will make this tonight for dinner. I bet my guys here would LOVE it! :D Thanks, Mama! :D
Look at her Split Pea soup for the canning of her Chicken ala King from yesterday. She canned them both at the same time.
Love Bev

Ok And I think i`m just gonna make this for dinner and yummmmm !Cant wait for the next onion recipe and ur onion jam is excellent and canned up beautifully .Got so excited i forgot to tell you that in my post.lololol...(O:
Haha, I noticed the Puppy coming too. I like the Chardonnay with the Boil, I never think of that. This definitely works for me Linda, great Cook!
When I thicken soup which isn’t canned I used mashed potato flakes. Do you think that would work for canning?
I wanted to see how the Therm Flo works because I've been curious about Clear Jel, as well, and was trying to guesstimate how much would be required to thicken chicken soup. Hello! Looks delicious....doesn’t thermflo thicken as it cools? Keep canning:)

hi i'm your new subscriber i'm from switzerland i have a question what can i replace soundflwo, or has another name here in switzerland i've never seen it thank you if you answer me❤️❤️❤️
The first few screen shots show the soup in a ball jar.... how did you can this?
Can you please tell me what year the chicken Ali King recipe was in the old Ball book? I am trying to locate a vintage ball book
I have used clear jel in my tomato soup(canned) and it is fine. Can I use clear jel in this recipe?
Linda, I love all your video's. This soup looks delicious and I can't wait to make it. I have a question... I canned regular chicken soup with the carrots. You video ended before I could get the length of time to pressure can. Can you advise?
I made your cream of mushroom soup! It was delicious...until I canned it..it curdled. I am not sure what I did wrong maybe I used too much wine in the soup? So I'm kind of gun shy of doing this recipe but it looks delicious!
Linda where do we get this therm flo from. Sounds good
Thanks.
thanks linda
I think your video's are amazing have you ever consider writing a cook book?
Love your plastic knife and tray for scooping up veggies. Where did you find them? Thanks
A dough scraper works well...
Take care :)
you probably could use arrow root to thicken with no gluten
Idon't like canning vegetables as long as meat. I can quarts of veggies 40 minutes and pints of meat the correct time. Then combine them tomake meal
Can you not xanthum gum to thicken and can with it?
onion jam?? how do you do this and what do you eat with it

Where do u get thurmflo from

Where can we get the complete recipe of ingredients?
Hey Linda check out Steve Henderson turkey soup video YIKES this scared me!!!
Holy crap. I just went there and watched his video. You were not kidding about scaring a person. I would never touch his canned food.
Thumbs up!
Should have made a ton of French onion soup with all those onnions.
