Replacing the already-taste depleted chicken with a fresh-cooked chicken , changes the richness of soup twofold; nice ideas for Canning in this video. Thank you

Glad you got some rain, even if it wasn't much. We were in the mid 50s this morning, but no rain at all. Still and all, I'll take the cooler temps! If I didn't have to eat a bite before I faint, I'd still be out in the garden! It's glorious!
I started adding ginger and turmeric to my soups and stews, and a lot of other stuff. They're supposed to be powerful anti-inflammatories and good against infections. I figured it couldn't hurt, right? Tastes fine too.
I hope your folks all get better real soon. You are doing a great thing making them this wholesome restorative elixir. Blessings, sweet lady.

What a glorious sunrise!! I am so glad y’all got a little rain with the front. It totally missed me this time but it sure is wonderful feeling outside!
That soup looks really good! I like to make stock in the crockpot. I just let it go all day long and it comes out really rich that way. I am excited to try out my canner this weekend! I might have to make a batch of chicken soup to go in it. 😋 I appreciate the tip on closely watching the gauge, I will be sure and do that!
I will continue prayers for healing for your family. Is Greg’s brother feeling better?

Glad to see you canning on a glass top stove. So many people think you can’t do that. I add a couple of cloves of garlic to my chicken soup for additional health benefits. Continued prayers for your mom and nephew!

I've got a stainless victorio water bath canner I use as a stock pot sometimes. I refrigerate some broth to let the fat separate and let it solidify, easier to scoop it off the top. I Crock-Pot tougher meats to tenderize for freeze drying for pre cooked protein.

The sunrise and the greenhouse in the background was spectacular! I would really like to try canning I’m just not so confident in it. I guess the best thing to do is just try it.

Have you thought about growing figs? My LSU gold figs have produced some large figs where the brown turkey and cold hardy have not. The ones outside freeze back to the ground every year up here where I am. Got a good crop in my greenhouse in the tubs. Freeze dried pineapple is outstanding. Just throwing ideas out there for yall. Ya'll should research raising quail or chuckars , you can put a lot of meat up in a year from a couple dozen, plus you can use the eggs just like chickens. Chuckars will be white breast and quail will be darker. Don't pay attention to people that don't use the leg meat, there is plenty there to save. You can make stock from them if nothing else. I save the gizzards but they require peeling the inner membrane off . I'm not a liver eater so that goes for fish bait or dog food.

Hi Jill. Just wanted to let you know how great this morning's video was. I really enjoyed it. My husband LOVES Chicken Noodle Soup and we buy it by the case at Sam's. I didn't see your video until later today because I was busy canning 11 pints of chicken stock and 7 qts of chicken noodle soup. No sense putting the soup in pints because he eats it so much. Anyway I guess great minds think alike huh!!! Glad you got at least a little rain, and aren't these temps great? We haven't gotten anymore rain since Tuesday night and that was just a sprinkle. Oh, isn't tomorrow the first day of Fall. I love Fall!!!
Still praying for you and your family. God bless

I bought an electric roaster pan this year that allows me to process 2-3 chickens at a time. I like to run my canner at full capacity.

I made the most delicious chicken NOODLE soup using wide egg noodles. Can I can leftovers. Everything is already cooked. Will pressure canning turn the soup to mush or should I just freeze? Thanks

How long would you leave them in the bath if you don't have a pressure cooker for canning?

Gosh, I don’t know, but I do see people that use the Amish Canning method and I think it’s four or five hours. Be sure and do your research.

You probably can, but it may be mushy. I would add when you were heating it up.

When picking chicken apart, I use latex gloves . You’ve sterilized everything else, why not go further and use gloves. I’m sure you washed your hands, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
