What has made me come back to you every time is you saying “know that you are worthy of this time”, “know that you can always come back to this space when you need it”. I really feel relaxed and at peace when I follow one of your videos. My day feels better knowing I did yoga.
The reason I come back to you as a yoga teacher is two main reasons. First reason is, your work outs are a lot slower paced and easier to keep up with than some other teachers. I’m disabled so I can’t do a lot of the intense work outs. But most of yours are low impact and slow enough that even my poor handicapped body can keep up with! You also include alternative positions and suggest devices that can help certain poses. The second reason is the positivity. You insert so much positivity into your videos, by saying it’s okay if you can’t stretch all the way it’s okay, that I’m worth it, etc. It helps motivate me to keep going! Thank you for what you do!
i think the reason why i like your videos is because a lot of other yoga teachers will say “feel free to skip poses that aren’t comfortable” once at the beginning. you remind us all the time it’s okay to not be able to do a pose and offer genuinely helpful modifications all through out the class. other teachers say it’s okay to modify or skip, but you encourage us to modify and skip. i really appreciate that.
I usually don’t comment but what made me stick with you is you saying “know you are worthy of this time” and when you say “embrace the wiggles and shakes” you’re encouragement always comes in at the right times and it always makes me feel so welcome and seen
My favorite yoga teacher who inspired me to become a yoga teacher, she always said when moving into childs pose, "looong journey home" and to this day i can still hear her, i say it to myself now everytime 😊

❤ thank you - my first yoga teacher was an average person, a bit overweight, didn’t try to show off, spoke to us like everyone of us truly mattered. She charged next to nothing for her classes. She just really wanted to help us experience the practice. I have no idea where she is these days but I think of her often when I’m on the mat. She helped me discover yoga nearly 30 years ago! I think what made me return to you is your calming voice and generous timing with the video (no cuts, its like enough time to keep up), "do what's comfortable for you - this made me feel successful even when I wasn't performing certain yoga exercises. at times I feel like I need to be able to do certain exercises, here I feel at pace and so relaxed - :)

Well Bird, I think I can answer that question, I started with u about 2 yrs ago while living in a womans homeless shelter. As I was starting my healing journey and also just beginning to get interested in yoga, one of your videos popped up on my laptop. The very first thing that caught my attention was your beautiful look then your voice. So,what kept me coming back was the way you teach your classes, very calming,soothing for the mind and perfect pace for me. With that being said, you have been my teacher for 2 yrs,Im living in my own home now and you have been with me every step of the way helping me keep my mind body and soul nourished and I truly thank you for that!!!! Spending time with you is something I look forward to.

What is something that a yoga teacher has done to encourage me to wanting more?
While in Bali, it has been the feeling of being "welcomed"; that even "do what YOU can do" is comforting.
Online yoga that has encouraged me to wanting more, has been getting right into it and not a lot of talk; I have stuck with Yoga With Bird because as a single mom who has a WHOLE LOT on my plate - early morning yoga is my ONLY "Me-Time. The soft-flowing music and calming voice, allows me to close my eyes and follow the cues.
It's such a routine that even my cats (3) know that it is a "Zoom-Free" time and zone (LOL).

I appreciate minimal cues. When I find a practice I enjoy I like to return to it. But some yogis like to tell stories, long stories. I can only listen to those stories but one time which means I won't return to that particular practice. Which might be their purpose but why? This practice today was what my shoulders needed and I will use it again when my shoulders feel tight.
I’ve experienced yoga videos where the teacher discusses the news! I personally do not enjoy it but I can see how it feels very personable and almost like a in person conversation. However it’s not my thing personally so I understand where you’re coming from. Honestly, I’m just glad UA-cam exists because there for sure is a teacher for everyone and it’s freaking amazing to live in a time like this 🙌🙌🙌🙌🥰

I'm not sure how to translate it to English, but a yogateacher reminded me that yoga is not something you just can, yoga is something you do. The differens between knowleght and The practice. Meaning EVERYONE can do yoga.
