No Alan Grant/Norm Breyfogle is crazy, but I do respect the lack of Hush and, as a big apologist for it, the inclusion of War Games. Though I definitely have a lot to argue with your top ten lol (mine would at most include Year One and The Long Halloween too)
While I like a lot of Batman stories, I have 2 favorite Batman run which are Tom King's Batman run and Scott Snyder's Batman run. I have a lot of Batman mini series books: The Long Halloween, The Dark Knight Returns, The Mad Monk, & Night of the Monster Men. But what got back into Batman was the storyline called Under The Red Hood by Judd Winick.
The sequel should have been considered. You're right. But the original storyline, I couldn't do it. I almost placed it on the list just because it's well known, and Jim Lee's art is great, but I dislike the story too much. To me, it marks the beginning of the fall of Jeff Loeb.
@@damiantirado9616 “Bush” ...ha.ha. That was...funny. I agree with you actually. But just because he’s overrated doesn’t mean the story wasn’t a lot of fun to read, and it’s certainly better than a lot of other books on this list, especially rules of engagement. I’d rather see cool drawings of Superman snd Batman fight than just “Bat cat bat cat bat cat” monologue story.
Batman 1 (1940), no hope in crime alley, night of the stalker, a vow from the grave, autobiography of bruce wayne, annual 14 the eye of the beholder, dead reckoning, annual 2 some of these days.
Why isn't "Bruce Wayne R.I.P." (Batman 242) considered part of "The Demon Lives Again"? Also, no "Case of the Honest Thief"? No "Messiah of the Midnight Sun"? No "Deathmask"?
@@umar-x7x There are some good stories from the era, and great artists, but these would be read as curiosities not for pleasure. The modern Batman first comes to the scene with the work of Denny O’Neil in the 70s.
Yeah, that was a mistake. I’m not a fan of silver age Batman, that there were a few issues that should have been included. A second video might be called for.
I find it shameful that there is barely any golden age stories on here, that's disrespectful to Bill Finger, and actually none from the silver age. The Silver Age wasn't all camp despite what most people think. Read some issues before and after Julius Schwartz became the editor of the book, and you'll see a night and day difference.
before putting the debut rip-off on the list, at least tell the truth about it. Bill Finger said himself that The Case of the Chemical Syndicate, was a direct plagiarism of Partners of Peril, a novel featuring The Shadow, that was published in November 1936.
And the joker was based on The Man Who Laughs movie, and Superman was based on a 1931 novel called Gladiator, and the whole idea of superheroes comes from pulp adventurers and the Scarlet Pimpernel. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s how things were those days, when comics were seen as disposable fare. While I very much enjoy this sort of trivia, it just doesn’t fit in this particular video
@comicbelief nope. Try The Grim Joker by Theodore Tinsley, also from '36 and stolen from a Shadow magazine story. Supes is a rip-off of Doc Savage, Fortress of Solitude and all.
@@KardboardKenny my point is this can be said of any character. The X-Men plagiarized the Doom Patrol. The Avengers copied the Justice League. There’s a 1950s sci-fi movie that’s pretty much the plot of the Incredible Hulk. Plagiarism is not an exception, it’s the rule

Bro why does this only have 4.5k views?
Thanks for all the recommendations
So glad to see Europa on this list!! Really underrated!

Surprised Hush and its sequel aren't here.

batman holy terror deserves a spot
I like how he skipped the Silver Era entirely cuz everything from that period is shit .

With all the great new miniseries and runs from the past few years, I think this video might need an update.
You might want to check out the two most recent videos uploaded 😊
You missed a few stories from the 50s and 60s
Only two stories from 1939 to 1970?

Batman prey and batman cult
Good reads
What about Arkham Asylum?
It's there. 4:40. It's a Top Ten. :)
@@comicbelief oh sorry xD
It really deserves to be in the top 10!
