People forget JSN also broke his hand last year...

I don’t think Shane Waldron watched a single snap of his college tape because he had no idea how to use him. He used him like he was Percy Harvin, which he did fine with but he was at a huge disadvantage schematically year 1.

It’s like yall forget that JSN was WR3!!!! It’s a solid ROOKIE year for a WR3. Once Lockett leaves and he becomes Wr2 he will be elite. Y’all compare him to the other WRS picked to be WR1. It’s a ridiculous comparison.

Agreed, I mean I was impressed actually... Considering he was WR3 in a Pete Carroll offense, which already doesn't throw over the middle a lot and isn't that creative. He didn't get a lot of opportunities but he made some great/tough catches and felt super reliable. It actually felt like he was a combination of our WRs; he has some great body control and hands like ADB, coming through clutch like Kearse, and the quickness/awareness in short spaces to get open like Lockett (but with more stoutness/physicality, even though Lockett did take some shots in his time no doubt), also really great tracking over the shoulder and catch timing/adjustments. I think once he replaces Lockett, if we keep DK, he can fill in nicely where DK has weaknesses with hands/drops, with his consistency (just like Lockett's been doing).
I'd have to go back and watch his highlights, but just from the impression I got of him, I wanted them to give him way more looks. I remember being surprised by how reliable he was straight away being a rookie, it felt like he stepped up when they actually did give him chances, and I had little reservation when it was thrown his way by the end of the season. I'm excited to see what he can build on from it, he has a great array of attributes to contribute nice production, hoping Grubb feeds him way more opportunities.

@kylelee7140 There's a reason jsn beat out Garret wilson. People really dont know how silky smooth this kid is

Agreed. I think the comparisons are a compliment to him and his skillset which is clearly that of a wr1. You can feel the potential every time he gets the ball

He also had a cast on the first what, 3-4 weeks? Dude didn't really get rollin until mid season

Seahawks needa get him more involved. Replace Lockett or something that way the first wr taken in 2023 isn’t wr3

I think when the seahawks drafted him, it was always with the intention that he would be the third option behind Metcalf and lockett, his production is probably exceeded expectations for a 3rd receiver

@@mr.lucaln7097they drafted him as a third receiver who would eventually become WR2 after Lockett retires probably after this year

Anybody who has been watching Seahawks in the past 5 years know that we suck at screens and most of his catches last year were screens, that’s why we so happy to get the OC from Huskies cause he had 3 great wide receivers in college and he used them properly, Waldron system was horrible

Had multiple game winning touchdowns and also a really good highlight catch against the Niners. Problem was Pete Carrol refused to run an innovative offense

The game winning touchdown catch against the Eagles that he legit showed in the video, the game winning TD catch against the Browns, The one handed catch that he had on Thanksgiving against the niners and that just off the top of my head

1 rookie season hardly enough to point who was the best receiver in a draft class. Probably on their 2nd contract you can debate who #1. Not to mention Seattle was a vanilla offense. Pete carrol run the ball and play defense…. Ryan grubb oc, should modernize and open up the offense now with pete gone.
