I am UX Designer having the experience of 3 years in design industry and I never expected a 10+ years old designer to develop his portfolio like this, I mean no projects there, just the JPGs... Seriously?????? I am talking about the portfolio of "Kris".
I notice a tendency for more experienced professionals to skip more conventional ways of doing things but probably for different reasons. I suspect that Kris has a perfectly good reason to have a portfolio without many details of his work. It may be that the clients he works with appreciate this portfolio more than they would a more conventional one. All of this is speculation but at least it shows that there is no one size fits all portfolio approach.

Having a big backup of companies you've worked with is the best Thing you can Tell about yourself. He probably gets calls and then Shows some more
that would be my guess as well. But even so, it is still quite an unusual approach.
