What about a brand new move? Adapt "Alolan Whip"! Type: Fire BP: 80, 85, or 90 Effect: guaranteed critical-hit if the target used a protection move. Also breaks the protection. * * reference to grabs (including Command Grabs) beating shields in SSBU.
2:56 Scorching Sands is actually Ground. I know you were talking about it later like with the Coalossal matchup as a ground move, but its just a goofy little editing error
I know others have mentioned it, but Fire Lash would be huge on it. It’s only 80 BP instead of 120, but it will always drop the target’s Defense by 1 stage. This not only gives it use in allowing Incin to deal more damage with Fire Lash or Knock Off, but you also can allow teammates to hit harder as well. Plus, lowering the foe’s stats while striking them seems like a heel wrestler move, and I can see it represented by Incineroar literally grabbing the wrestling ring’s ropes, igniting them, and whipping the opponent with them.
Calling it right now, legends z-a is gonna give us mega inceneroar with a combo ability of huge power, magic bounce, friend guard, intimidate, and all the ruin abilities. Then theyre gonna give it a +6 priority dark fakeout that has 150 base power, cant miss, hits through protect, guarantees an omni stat boost, while setting up max spikes, toxic spikes, and stealth rocks, weather of choice, and also helping hands its partner. And it can be used any turn incineroar is out. Oh and give it wonderguard for good measure
It's an interesting point but I actually think Dynamax was a net benefit for Incineroar. Dynamax meant that one pokemon could be so so impactful for three turns unless it switched so intimidate slowing physical dynamax attackers down was so important. Also stuff like will-o-wisp, snarl, and parting shot compounding this meant that incin felt like it countered dynamax mons better than anything else. Yes losing the ability to fake out is meaningful but I think it was far outweighed.
Dynamax was a good format for incin because incin was the best Intimidate pivot, but it's usual role of a fake out user was what was a detriment from that format, the format nerfed incins old role then gave it like a billion buffs was more the point I tried making but that may have got lost. Hell incin was even a kinda viable max wincon itself on some teams so it definitely wasn't bad in dynamax, just its main role was no longer
Bitter Blade and Sacred Fire are such good moves ❤, but I was thinking Fire Lash. If Incineroar got Fire Lash, it could serve as a recoilless option for a Fire STAB, and it can reduce the Defense stat of the opponent. A useful tac against Stamina mons and also support slow allies. IN THEORY 😅
I think giving bitter blade to incineroar can work as there are other moves and abilities that do the same thing with different names. So gen 10 can add a "new" move that is just bitter blade with a different name. I also think giving incineroar a stab priority move would be a good buff as then incineroar a option to revenge kill ghost types or a priority attack that can be used more often than fake out.
fire lash would actually be amazing, it wouldnt even need to worry about a high damage move it can just spam fire lash. Its a stab equivalent of acid apple or acid spray.
Z:A may just give it a regional form beforehand since most people have Litten(Andre the giant was French), Scorbunny(soccer is popular in France; could get a triathlete form for a change of pace), & somehow Torchic(roosters are the national symbol of France, now answer the fate of Galarian Slowbro & Lumiosan Blaziken and their Mega Stones) getting Lumiosan forms since Snivy & Piplup are near-assured their slots.
Something to note about giving Incin Trick room or tailwind in gen 10(despite it realistically never getting it) is that it would be a major buff if we went back to a closed team sheet post tera(also probably wouldnt happen, I have only wateched while open team sheet has been there, but closed team sheet seems to be behind us at least in tournaments).
They need to give Incineroar, False Surrender and a new status move, that drops accuracy by 1 stage for 2 turns (cannot stack), basically use Eddie Guerrero and Tajiri as the basis for incineroar
My first thought before watching the video is give him wild charge and taunt but I think he already learns taunt I feel like too many of the moves you suggested are too much specific to one or a group of Pokémon to be given to Incinaroar
the point was more to discuss how difficult buffing incineroar would actually be, because nearly any move you even potentially add onto its moveset would be so circumstantial that you're maybe using it as a 7th/8th move at best since its moveset is so perfect already; like this is the extent it would take to get a true new staple on incineroar
Mega incineroar is just two incineroars, doubling all of their base stats, and having the new ability tag team, which applies intimidate twice every time it switches in and gives it the second ability of Inner Focus (like As One for Calyrex). Is able to learn every status move, and every fire/dark move.
While a priority move of any kind is the *last* thing Incineroar needs, let's be honest. It feels like a crime that it lacks Sucker Punch. Fits thematically but would probably continue the trend of it being over the top. xD
All starters get a second base ability, and Incineroar gets a special intimidate. Kalosian Incin could be the Fire starter in AZ, getting more attack for less speed, and being fire fairy. (Please GAMEFREAK, just give us good competitive mons with every remaining combo, plz
If Incineroar has gotten to the point where the majority of Incineroar have the same moveset, I think the only buff it can get is from new held items being added Like maybe an item that doubles stat debuffs the first time a Pokemon debuffs an opponent
Its such a salt in the wound that I absolutely hate this things design and how it deviates from what Litten and Torracat were going for, while it's god damn everywhere
Tbh i get why certain moves make sense, but i feel like lore wise, incineroar wouldn't make sense with most of these moves. However dire claw and last respects make the most sense to me. More than ruination which is a signature move exclusive to ruin pokemon. Also, given that youre trying to keep incin alive, last respect does serve as a possible reverse sweep option that could ABSOLUTELY be absued by incin with tera.
mega inci capable to lower both attacks with the mega ability sooo, intimidate drops atk by 1 then it's mega and drops enother time atk and sp. atk by 1 stage with the +100 in stats for def and sp def nothing could knok it out
Incineroar needs no buff except for Smash and Singles.. The man is already a monster (literly) in VGC but, scorching sand is a must have cause flareon have one and bitter blade or pollen puff is good for him, but he have leech life but at also good for singles...
