Respect to both of you. You both know how to handle anything that comes your way. And Tori gets so much respect for having Wesley on her back and showing no signs of giving up or complaining. Love your adventures and learn so much.
Thanks for the great comment and I’m really glad you liked it. Tori can honestly be a glutton for punishment sometimes haha. We had some “character building moments” on this trip but I was happy I had what it took to turn things around.
@@JimBairdAdventurer The best thing Kathy and I do is to disappear to the middle of nowhere. It is in that place that we have learned so much about each other and continue to learn. We've been married for 33 years and never have we stopped learning who each other is. The wilderness is the best judge of character for anyone. The wilderness will quickly figure you out.
That is very interesting and I totally agree with you on that. Tori and celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary right after finishing this trip. We drove to a lodge in the beautiful Killarney village on Georgian Bay and enjoyed a steak dinner and a glass of wine. Im looking forward to many more years and learning more about her too. Thanks a lot and I’m really glad you enjoy the videos!

Thanks a lot for checking out the vid, please subscribe to my channel for more! For those of you wondering what the term dirtbag is about, it’s a tongue in cheek thing I added to the title. The term is used to describe hardcore backpackers or climbers who devote most of their time to this passion and may often be found sleeping in camper vans or on the trail more times than not. Great videos, and it brought back so many memories of more than 40 years of canoeing and hiking in Killarney Provincial Park. Just subscribed. Was watching the Yukon series before this one. Great channel, and this serie was exciting and different from all other hiking videos Ive seen. Greetings from Sweden.
Thanks very much, great to have ya and glad you’re enjoying the videos! I have some awesome stuff to come. A solo Arctic winter trek series I’ll start posting soon. This backpacking trip really didn’t turn out the way we thought it was going to and it was very concerning and stressful at times, plus the bad weather didn’t help much. We decided to keep filming the fiasco though and we were happy we were able to come up with a plan that still aloud us to have a good trip, help get our dog out of there safely and all.
What a great dad, I'm so sorry for your loss, buck couldn't have lived a better life I'm so happy I got to experience it through UA-cam with the Baird's, rest easy boy, and thank you Jim for sharing his journeys they were epic and my favorite videos to watch on UA-cam you and buck and fam as a team are amazing
Yahooooo.... You did it.......... You completed the adventure with all intact. So glad that Buck recovered. You both do wonderful with the baby and he should know he is loved so much. Those rough, rocky, water/rocks/limbs look like really hard hiking to me. You two make a great pair and are equally matched to face the challenges of adventures and life. Thanks for sharing. Hugs to all. :-)
Wow! I have watched the whole 3 episodes! Thank you for sharing your adventure! You are so honest not like some people who just show nice stuff and just pretending... thank you for that... this is really a good bonding with your kid and amazing wife! Btw, i’m watching this july 26,2020 late but for those people who are watching this time watch the whole episodes because you’ll enjoy this.... thank God you made it safe and buck is ok...
Thanks very much, ya, things didn’t go as planned on this one and the trip, much like the videos are not for the faint of heart. I’m really glad you enjoyed it! I think we ended up making the best of a not great situation and everything was fine in the end.
Yeah, didn’t go as planned but that’s the real adventure as you also said... btw cherry here from Japan... I also watched you and ted on Alone! I cried a lot on the end specially when your wife and ted’s wife were behind you... cried a lot! 🤣🤣 so I’m so happy that you and ted have youtube channel now i can still watch you guys grow and have more adventures! Goodluck and always keep safe!
That’s great to hear you caught us on Alone. I think a lot of people cried at that ending and I think it was the only time I’ve seen my dad shed a tear. It was emotional for sure. Thanks very much for your time in watching the videos and for your comments and support.
My wife and I were watching this episode thinking back to the last time we went camping with our kids. It was when our daughter was still nursing and we haven't been back since. You guys are really adventurous. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
That was awesome! You guys are amazing! Jim your a great guy! That's what good dads do. Anything to save the family! Tory ,you are a super mom! Great job! Wesley is a great little hiker!

Total respect for the two of you’s. This was an epic video that you both should be proud of. Lifetime of memories made here. This was not an easy trip and doing it with a baby on top of that and with good old Buck was just insane. Hats off to all of you’s. Thank you for sharing.😍
trisha harrison thanks a ton! It wasn’t what we thought it would be but in the end we did make some great memories and got to spend time in a beautiful area.
Wesley looks like he's enjoying himself its a good experience for him ur good parents ! U guys have alot of stamina and energy that takes alot of effort what u do good for you
That takes balls without a baby. Gotta hand it to you guys, that was one mind-blowing video. You have a lot of faith in your ability not to be afraid of the canoe flipping (among other things during your adventure) with Wesley in it, but yeah.....he is a lucky kid to have parents like you guys!
Awesome footage enjoyed every min. You are a great dad and tori a wonderful mom and she is beautiful.. the little guy is adorable a very handsome family . if ever a contest comes up for the best looking adventurers you better enter..It’s amazing to see your brute strength Jim and tori showed she is no weakling either. Love watching you both in motion.this is entertainment at its best.
I am so happy everything went well for the most part beautiful views it was like I was there without the weather lol thanks again Jim love your guys trips !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No problem and thanks a lot for watching. It got a little scary there with Buck getting hurt and then there were a few “character building moments” but in the end we still hand a good trip.

🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️ What an Amazing and Challenging trip you had. Love conquers everything.....I’m thrilled to hear about Buck’s recovery. I’m sure you would have still taken him to the Vet, to make sure he is alright. Hugs for Buck from us here in Australia. Young Wesley is a great trooper - Well done little buddy. It's amazing and inspiring to see ya just switch on beast mode like ya did, kudos for that. Thx for sharing the experience and the amazing places you go. Such a pleasure, you do a great job with it all, be well y'all!
Thanks very much Dave and thanks for watching. We will keep it up! Man, we had some bad weather and unexpected events on this trip but it turned out to be memorable and enjoyable in the end. Oh and my wife and I have a couple vids up on the channel that cover a trek we did in Alberta. We backpacked from Jasper to Grande Cache.
Catching up on some old videos Jim, and I have to say Tori was kicking some serious but this trip. Your whole family is awesome, the way you rolled with the punches and changed your plans based on what happened. I know when I went camping with my little one the past two summers (he was born in Feb 2018) I couldn't even imagine a hike like that. Wesley was so well behaved, our little one was always squirming and trying to get out of the backpack (even for the short hikes we did). I hope you and the family are about to get out again this year for more adventures! p.s. watching you lift that canoe onto your back at 34:00 made my back hurt!
Ya, things didn’t go as planned here at all. We didn’t know it at the time but it was a cancerous tumour on my dog’s right front chest that was causing him to limp on his right front leg, not joint problems. This was the first we’d noticed him slowing down. This was sep. and we figured out what was going on with him by Oct. the cancer was so rapidly progressing it turned out to be his downfall and he died after Christmas from complications due to the surgery trying to remove it. On this trip, in addition to the change of plans and “rescue mission” on this trip, the weather was also miserable! In the end though, it was a pretty awesome trip and and adventure and we made the best out of it.
@@JimBairdAdventurer I figured the cancer caused the issue, but I was not sure. Thanks for confirming. It is bittersweet to see the old videos with Buck in them. My son asks to watch "doggy videos" on UA-cam and when I ask which one he most often says "Buck the adventure dog". Sad that Buck has passed, but happy to see he had such a great life and lived with more adventure and fun than most people experience in their lives.
Ya, hindsight is 2020 because we didn’t realize it was likely the cancer that was bothering him in this trip until we realized he had it the following month. That’s awesome that you’re kid likes these! Ya, buck has a pretty awesome life for sure. He is missed.
Again, what an adventure Jim, you were unbelievable on this trip to do what you did. Hats off!! I can’t physically do what you are doing on these trips, but the next best thing is watching you. Keep it up as long as you can.
Hello Jim. Just want to tell you that your video's are amazing. Found you on the "tube", probably because i watch similar content. This episode with your family is truly an inspiration, for any man in my book. As Tori stated in the video upon your arrival in the canoe ( yes, that's we call them here in the states), you are a hero! Sorry I never heard of you, until this past week. I see you won "Alone", with your brother. Congrad's to you both. Thanks for sharing your stuff. look forward to watching more of your content! Oh, love your play on words! Makes me giggle like a kid.
Thanks a lot for watching and great to have you here at the channel! Alone was a tough battle but we pulled it off. The same year I walked across Arctic Quebec in winter and canoed the Porcupine River Northern Saskatchewan starting from the Northwest Territories, in addition to a couple multi-day trips in Killarney where this vid series was filmed. That year I spent five months camping out in, traveling through, and surviving in wild places in the Canadian wilderness. It was a big year but I haven’t let up a whole lot since! Glad you get a kick out of my antics too. Thanks again for the support and more to come.
@@JimBairdAdventurer your welcome and take little man as much as possible because it will not be long he will be doing them on his own enjoy them as log as you can

I am so glad you all are safe, and Buck resting and enjoying his retirement. Congratulations with your new "bote" enjoy it , and keep up with your exciting adventures, great family, God Bless you!
Thanks very much! Ya, this one didn’t go as planned at all and the weather was not in our side to say the least. Thanks for taking the time to check them out!
Indeed it does. Thanks a lot! I think I wouldn’t recommend going into any situation where they couldn’t be self sufficient if things went sour, particularly if there’s a baby along. 👶 🍼 👍
Love this. Such a beautiful family. I pray you can do this for 50 more years and your kids of which you will have more can finish out the century. Pretty heavy trail in some parts. Your wife rocks. What a view.
I use to take a ziplock bag of dryer Lint with me in my backpack to get the fire started then collect dry birch bark and back it along the way in case it rained which it always seem to do
Haha, sorry about the song! Ya, that little sleeping bag is great! It’s good to -9 and the ground pad slips in and out of a big pocket in the bottom so he can’t slide off of it.

Great video Jim. I loved it. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
No problem, glad you liked it and thanks a lot for watching!
The Adventurers...Jim,Tori, Wesley and Buck stuck together thru some high mountains and low valleys. Gorgeous lakes views. Family hiking and boating 😁 Thanks Jim n K
This is true, metaphorically and literally! Thanks a lot for watching!
@@JimBairdAdventurer It was no fiasco. It was a successful rescue mission by you both. Very enthralling to see.
Just incredible.
You two are a hell of a team.
Awesome film and thank you for sharing it with us
What a great dad, I'm so sorry for your loss, buck couldn't have lived a better life I'm so happy I got to experience it through UA-cam with the Baird's, rest easy boy, and thank you Jim for sharing his journeys they were epic and my favorite videos to watch on UA-cam you and buck and fam as a team are amazing
You're all pretty bad ass! Including Buck! Great closing sentiments to. Thanks for sharing
Thanks a lot! And no problem 👍
You adapted your plan and did not bail. Great stuff. Much respect to putting your family first.
We did! Thanks a lot! Buck seems to be doing very well. Thanks a lot for taking the time to watch.
Haha, I can relate. Thanks very much!

Beautiful Outro Jim. Thanks for taking us along with your family!
Wesley looks like he's enjoying himself its a good experience for him ur good parents ! U guys have alot of stamina and energy that takes alot of effort what u do good for you
It is so special carrying him in the pack as he giggles away
You have an amazing family! Love watching your adventures. Really happy everyone is okay.
Thank you very much!!
Simply awesome!! Thank you & God bless your beautiful family!
Thank you very much for the blessings and for watching too. It’s much appreciated.

Thanks a lot! We love Buck too!!
You have really a tough woman there dude.. Awesome and blessed video's we watched thanks for taking us on your adventure that Y'all had.. Shalom and love A in SA
I really enjoyed this series with your "Dirt bag baby" and dog. I found it entertaining, interesting, at times exciting, thank you!
No problem! Thanks a lot for checking it out and - the term dirtbag is a favourable term when it’s used in reference to hardcore backpackers (for the record). I’m glad you enjoyed the videos!
Great video Ironman Jim and Ironwoman Tori. What an awesome trip with Wesley and Buck. Beautiful scenery. Thankyou for sharing. Best wishes from Western Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Tori, you are an amazing Mom, Wife and carrier ! You had me holding my breath as you climbed WOW WOW WOW I take my hat off to you both including Wesley and Buck 🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰
Beautiful scenery. Great vlog 👍 xx
Thanks very much!
Jim, you are a beast man! carrying backpack and the canoe same time? That's sickness...lol
Thanks a lot, that was about 3.5 km portage and it saves a ton of time if you can do it in one trip so I do it when I can
Recently subscribed and boy howdy is it fun catching up on all your adventures. Glad so see you make the best of an unfortunate situation this time. Memorable none the less. It's amazing and inspiring to see ya just switch on beast mode like ya did, kudos for that. Thx for sharing the experience and the amazing places you go. Such a pleasure, you do a great job with it all, be well y'all!
Big thanks man and I’m totally going to be using the saying boy howdy if you don’t mind.
@@JimBairdAdventurer I'll be waiting on you to drop the phrase sometime in a video 👍
Great adventure guys thank you for sharing
The fun doesn't start until things go sideways. It looks like a fun trip and you both did a great job keeping things going right.
What a great family. I love that damn dog too. Nice adventure man.
Thanks a lot and yup, Buck is definitely lovable!
You guys are cool Man you and your wife your little kid that's amazing keep it up I'll be watching Dave here Alberta Canada
Awesome trip, thanks for the upload. Family trips are the bomb 😊👍🏽
Hey guys. Great vid! Fantastic to see the teamwork, the challenges, and the triumphs! Terrific to hear Buck is on the bounce back.
Nice trip glad buck started feeling better you all work together and made it work on a switching of original idea
We did and it was memorable and still a great trip in the end. The weather sure want on our side though. Thanks a lot for watching!
@@JimBairdAdventurer your welcome and take little man as much as possible because it will not be long he will be doing them on his own enjoy them as log as you can
What a great adventure!! I really enjoyed watching this!! Jim,Tori, Wesley and Buck! Be safe and God Bless all of you!!😀
Will do and thanks a lot for watching and for the awesome comment. I read it to Tori and she says tanks too!
Wow amazing people!!, I saw the 3 videos one after the one, and believe me I got very concern at times, but I knew you both know what you were doing.
Poor sweet buck. Wish he had some pain meds. I know he was hurting bad. Bless him
Man Tori Your a great cook on out in the bush that is something I would eat also !!!
Yum! It was good. Thanks for watching
amazing great job guys ..beautiful vid
Thanks very much
Wow we zowie...you guy's rock! Your brave. That hike was amazing. Keep on fighting the good fight!!
WOW, that seems crazy, but I've been told that before. Nature does bring us closer
Indeed it does. Thanks a lot! I think I wouldn’t recommend going into any situation where they couldn’t be self sufficient if things went sour, particularly if there’s a baby along. 👶 🍼 👍
mountain top always shows the most lover views/scenery
This is the truth!! Thanks so much for watching some of my vids and commenting!
What amazing adventure u all had there and nice nothing seriously happened either.
Love this. Such a beautiful family. I pray you can do this for 50 more years and your kids of which you will have more can finish out the century. Pretty heavy trail in some parts. Your wife rocks.
What a view.
Great series man. I felt tired just watching it! lol
Happy You All Made It Back ok !
Love the KD powder from costco! I always add dehydrated hamburger to round it out
Ya, it was our first time seeing it before this trip, good stuff. The hamburger would be a great addition for sure! We’ll give it a shot
WOW Tori!!! Girl, you are a warrior!
I use to take a ziplock bag of dryer Lint with me in my backpack to get the fire started then collect dry birch bark and back it along the way in case it rained which it always seem to do
Solid source of rudder I hear but I’ve never tried it.
We always took dryer lint soaked in wax and another ziplock with dryer lint soaked in a bit of lighter fluid. Worked great every time.
What a gorgeous little dog so smart so adorable x
Great video, Jim! Wesley is adorable! Thank you for sharing these experiences!
Now I have that song in my head!! LOL Love the little sleeping bag!!
Haha, sorry about the song! Ya, that little sleeping bag is great! It’s good to -9 and the ground pad slips in and out of a big pocket in the bottom so he can’t slide off of it.
great series. Glad Buck was ok
Great video y'all. Leaving Monday morning for a three day two night solo on an island in a local lake. Sittin south of ya waitin on another video.
Sounds pretty sweet. Thanks and enjoy! I’ll get Yukon Wild e3 up on Mon.
Thank You for love vídeo 👍🌲💐
You’re very welcome!
Yay, Buck!! Great trip!
Yaaaay Buck!! I love that dog....thanks so much!
Pretty amazing Jim. good on you both.
Thanks Scott, it was an interesting adventure and the first ep, not for the faint of heart.
Jim Baird, where did you ever find such an incredible woman like Tori?!? You guys make an amazing couple! Thanks for sharing this great adventure with all of us!
