The McMurtry Spéirling is a singe-seat, pure-electric track car that's claimed to be quicker than the Bugatti Chiron. In fact, McMurtry Automotive touts a 0-60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) sprint of under 1.5 seconds, with a capped top speed of 150 mph (241 km/h). McMurtry Automotive didn't disclose the output figures of the Spéirling, though it's mentioned that the EV has a power-to-weight ratio of 1,000hp/tonne with a weight of under 2,205 pounds (1,000 kilograms). However, the Spéirling's main differentiator is its twin fans that pull air from under the car. This system bolsters the touted instant downforce-on-demand that's even double its own weight, rated at 4,409 lbs (2,000 kg). That said, the Spéirling has more downforce than an F1 car at 150 mph. as per Motor1

The crowd reactions to the McMurty fan car at 1:40 are brilliant. You can't fake that kind of visceral _'oh my GOD',_ it leaps out of you when you see something extraordinary. I remember seeing the ID:R at Goodwood a couple of years ago and having a similar reaction - there's something about both cars that just feels freakish. You can tell that they're operating right at the limits of what the interrelation between traction and power will allow; they both come around corners like they're being chased by the devil himself. TBH the ID:R retrospectively looks even more impressive given that the McMurty Speirling fan car only just beat its time even though it had 66% more horsepower AND a fan sucking it to the track. Think about it like that and the ID:R's time wasn't quite as 'demolished' as a lot of ridiculous, clickbaiting YT channels claimed.
Or rather they didn't. Delta Motorsports make the chassis, like they did with the first venom. Only improvement is hennessey make the engine for this one instead of palming the job off to texas speed like they did with the original
4:18 - no-one's ever going to convince me that naturally aspirated engines are inherently better sounding than everything else when there are turbos that sound like that. One of the things I love most about car sounds is _character_ and the many different ways that turbos chitter or hiss or whistle or stutter etc. are like character traits, they bring a car to life and give it a personality. It's harder to distinguish a car's character when it's just a flat NA V12 scream. For example the Zonda R sounds incredible, but I also love the Huayra, because it sounds so distinctive, like a steampunk car, with the steady build of the low pitched V12 then the punctuation of the turbo hiss, like pouring water on hot rocks.
