Once you engage the brake on the King it's not going anywhere. As long as you don't park on loose gravel or rocks that is. Beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing!
It’s a cool trail with lots of cool stuff to see. I’ve never ridden a Brute other than a quick test ride in a parking lot. Sure was impressed with the power.
Nice riding country! Bonus sheep & rainbow to boot! Beautiful scenery in Idaho. We’ve got mud and more mud here in the lower half of Louisiana. Yea I own a 2019 Polaris 450 sportsman and the only way the engine break works if the automatic clutch is engaged, you can’t let off of the throttle. I would say not good for mountain descent.
Thanks for watching Lane! One of my neighbors has the new 450 sportsman. We’re planning to do some riding this spring. Lots of guys own the sportsman series here, so they’re making it work somehow. I’ll make a video when we get out and see how they do head to head in this country. Thanks for watching!
Cool, are you pulling a drag with it or what type of work are you doing with it?Haven’t used mine much for work yet but will eventually get a snow plow for it.
We do have cats and bears are also a possibility. In the 12 years or so since I’ve been here I’ve only see one female cat with 2 kittens and one single black bear. Always better to have someone with you but I still end up alone quiet a bit. I try to be prepared and not take too many chances. Thanks for watching!
You ride in the most beautiful areas, I am jealous. It does not get much better than riding your atv in those areas and then to fish these small streams......it looks so fun, do you have grizzly bears up there?
It is an awesome place to live and ride and I try not to take it for granted. There are more and more grizzlies in Idaho and some of the places I ride definitely have them. It can be a little unnerving for sure
I’m new to quads. I want one to go camping on and exploring in the snow. I have experience on motorcycles and 4wheeling but only ridden a quad once. I have no clue what to buy. I like Japanese stuff for reliability. I have a drz400 and I love it. But I want 4x4 and the ability to carry more. I’m 6’1 225 lbs. I live in the mountains too. The quad needs enough power to haul my ass around lol. I don’t want to race or hit big jumps. The riding in this video is what I want to do. Any suggestions? The kind quad looks really cool. The grizzly looks cool too.
Thanks for watching! Sounds like your purpose for wanting a quad is similar to mine. Both the King and Grizzly would be excellent choices. Quads do pretty good in snow depending on depth and type of snow but can get stuck pretty easy too if they high center on the snow so be prepared. I have chains for all 4 wheels, but they are really designed to help provide better traction in icy situations more than snow. I’m similar size and weight and the King fits me perfect. Get the 750 and you won’t have any issues with power. Also get the power steering version if at all possible. It really makes a difference. I love the DRZ and recently had a DR650. They are both great bikes! Check out my long term review on the King for my opinion on its CVT. In just about every situation the CVT is the way to go, but there are lots of different CVTs and the only ones I really trust are the Yamaha and Suzuki. Regular geared transmissions have their place too but overall I’d go with the CVT. Good luck and welcome to the channel!
@@aaronkelley7448 thank you for helping out. From what I’ve watched and read I’m definitely staying with Japanese bikes. The Honda looks so lame tho haha. The kawi is cool but I think it’s between the grizzly and the king quads. I know Yamaha has a kidiak too but I don’t know much about it. Should I buy new or used? I know with motorcycles it depends on who you buy from. I maintain my stuff and I don’t beat on it but most people thrash their stuff. New stuff loses value but older stuff can have a ton of hidden issues. Thanks for the reply!
Agree with you on the reliability of the bikes out of Japan. I wish Honda would build the Rubicon with a 750 or 850 motor but they don’t seem to be moving that direction. The Brute is super powerful with its twin 750 but burns through fuel quick. The Kodiak is pretty good but I’d just go with the Grizzly if you choose Yamaha. You nailed it on making sure you buy from the right person if you go with used. Lots of folks head right to the deep mud and water holes and sink their bikes. Then they don’t service them as needed. Ivy seen bikes with very few miles look like garbage and I’ve seen bikes with super high mileage that look and run great. Right now used bikes are bringing a premium and good ones are hard to find. You will pay close to MSRP on a new one and will probably have to order it, but that’s what I’d do.
They are all public land and many of them are common well known trails. No problem sharing those locations and may even provide some basic directions. Some of the hunting and fishing areas I’ve got to be a little more I’ve got to be a little more vague😜
Man another awesome ride. Some how I’m going find a way to get out that way. Engine brake on my new 2021 KQ 750 I noticed right off sometimes it’s a little to much I have to give it just a touch of throttle to make it a little less. How much fuel did you use on this trip. You inspired me to maybe make a few videos and post them on UA-cam of the area over here which is nothing compared to what you got over there it’s beautiful over there unless I go to the eastern Oregon or central Oregon but I’m like right on the coast range. If there was a way I could send you pictures or short videos of where I’ve been I would. Thanks for the video I love them keep them coming.
Thanks for watching Brian. The engine braking is definitely more aggressive on the 19s and up. It wasn’t as abrupt on the 18s and down. Send me a private message and we’ll figure something out. I’d like to see some of those pictures and short videos.
@@district12tribute28 I ended up with a 2018 kingquad 500. My dad got the Honda rubicon 520 and I like mine way more. The cvt seems better, it’s faster and seems to make way tighter u turns. I also like the gear selector on the Suzuki better than Honda.
Hey man. I'm buying a quad like tomorrow. Haha. Do you believe a very clean unsnorkeled 750 kq with 1000 miles is worth 750? I mean everything straight and good. Pls reply and I liked the video immediately. Ty for the time
Hey Terry thanks for watching. What year is it and does it have power steering? Sounds like a clean bike. With prices as high as they have been for used bikes 7500 probably wouldn’t be too bad, but just a little over a year ago it would have been too much. Don’t run across too many Kelley’s with the “e”. Got to stick together!😎. I’m working on another video tonight and hope to have it up in a day or two. Stay tuned!
The 18 is a great bike, the only thing I really miss on that year is the handlebar mounted headlight. If it’s in good shape and has been maintained I don’t think you can go wrong.
Some areas are much worse than others in the state. I was recently up near Island park and they had taken lots of trees out and it looked much better. Hopefully they do more of that in other parts of the state.
Thanks for sharing your video, that is some beautiful country you live in!
Thanks Jesse! Glad to live in a place with so much beautiful country to ride and explore.

Great scenery on your ride and got some fishing in to nice !
I always try to do a little fishing or glassing for animals when I get a chance. Thanks for watching!
This was a great video. I really enjoyed it. I hope to do this in the Spring.
Wow, what a great ride! Love coming along on this one.
It was a fun ride!
Using park on a steep incline is hard on the transmission hence why Suzuki and kawi dont have park
Makes sense, just a bit unsettling. My Traxter had both and that would be my preference. You could set the brake and put it in park.
As always great videos, thanks to you I see places that I will never see in real life. Thanks.
Are you from Italy?
@@aaronkelley7448 Yes, near Lake Como
I would love to get my BF 750 on that trail. Nice riding. I ride mostly in the Gulf in TN. Not many four wheelers like that kinda riding.

The long ridge about 9:30 - I would love to pitch a tent at the highest point for an overnight view of the stars
Would be a great view for sure!
Great video of respectful ATVing.

Yep cvt is far superior to dct. The only brand that hasn’t switched yet is Honda but to be honest they aren’t very good anymore
