What would be even better would be if the thousands of dollars the adoptive parents paid could instead go towards giving the mum a stable, safe home so she can keep her baby. Infant adoption in the US is just baby buying at this point. The goal should be that adoption never has to happen, but adoption agencies care about making money, they don't care about ways to help birth mums keep their babies.

I can't believe the system is so messed up that "orphaned" teens would rather live on the streets than living in a home where people are supposed to take care of you. I've said it once and I'll say it again, Dr. Manning is so judgy. She's rich and can afford a hospital bill, she was never homeless and has a ton of privilege in this world. Ethan Choi, on the other hand, is so understanding and compassionate. I can't think of any juxtaposition better than driving up to this delivery in an expensive car. She carries so much judgment over this girl it's appalling.

What are you talking about? Teenage pregnancy rates have been steadily dropping for years as a result of legal abortion, tighter laws, and better access to birth control. Even if someone's trying to glamourise it, it's not working.
You're worried about teenage pregnancy skyrocketing? Then you should be concerned that the US is trying to take away birth control and abortion rights, because THAT is what causes higher rates of teen pregnancy. Not tv shows.

If the shoulder was stuck i highly doubt an episiotomy would solve things, usually a shoulder gets stuck because of the bones of the pelvis not the muscles….

An episiotomy in the field is insane. It would be far, far better to put a hand in there (gloved ofc) and turn the baby and reposition the shoulder. That's what they'd do in hospital too. This was so played up for shock value & it's especially stupid given she already has an infection

@@kuroyuri04 Because she refused outright to go to the hospital even after both doctors said she needed to go. She doesn't trust the foster care system. And she's right, the foster care system is corrupt as all hell. In the 80s, 18% of all foster kids died while in foster care, IDK what are the stats for it now. but many kids in foster care get abused, neglected and even sexually molested -n that should be a capital crime. Is it any wonder these foster girls don't trust the system? Still a minor at 16, the hospital will just put her right back into it.
