I cried when she gave her baby up for adoption. That's a mother's true love right there 😥
Yeah so true 💪🏻💪🏻❤️❤️
Yeah same thing
Im going insane. The first time I read it, I thought you said abortion. I watched a different video a while ago and no need to argue. In sorry- I don't know why'd I write it though.
What would be even better would be if the thousands of dollars the adoptive parents paid could instead go towards giving the mum a stable, safe home so she can keep her baby. Infant adoption in the US is just baby buying at this point. The goal should be that adoption never has to happen, but adoption agencies care about making money, they don't care about ways to help birth mums keep their babies.
@@Marzi29 Unfortuantaly this is not how the world works. People suffer for the benefit of others. But indeed your point is very valid.
I can't believe the system is so messed up that "orphaned" teens would rather live on the streets than living in a home where people are supposed to take care of you. I know it's just a show but the CPS in North America is indeed broken in real life, especially in Quebec (in this case, it's call DPJ)
it's not just North America... there's systematic issues worldwide in regards to orphans.
@@Mia_M not in most of Europe
Yeah, CPS is totally fucked. I knew a girl who was in foster care. It lead to her having so much trauma.
@@territt16 Depends on which European countries you’re referencing. And I said the world, not specifying Europe but including it.
@@Mia_M non of the first world countries in Europe, the only first world country with these sort of problems is the USA.
i'm 16 and couldn't imagine giving birth, let alone on the streets then having to make that heartbreaking decision
True, I don't think I can either. I am probably just gonna adopt or something, IDK yet.
@@sillypotato53 Yeah, I cannot either.
My sister friend did at 16
No one should have to live like this, and unfortunately many people do. That poor girl, she shouldn’t have had to go through that
The teenager is an amazing actor
🥺🥺🥺🥺
Everybody knows why they do not want to go in foster care , and what a shameful part that is , for all of us , as humans. Some of us are so evil, that humans can't trust humans anymore.... The way she cried after giving birth brought tears to my eyes... The fact that she is so much more mature compared to her age , is just...
Foster kids grow up FAST. I remember being 11 years old when they took us away from our parents. My sisters and I were in the car. They had taken us for ice cream like always (CPS was always in our lives because my mom was epileptic) and I noticed we weren't going the usual way home. When I asked they said we weren't going home and that we were going to live with someone else. Both of my sisters burst out crying but because I was the oldest I knew I had to be strong for them. I never shed a tear and I hugged my sisters and told them it would be okay. I learned that day that I couldn't count on anyone other than myself and that I needed to grow up in a hurry. I was self-sufficient by the time I was 13. This is what happens to a person when their life is interrupted like that.
I can watch a lot of these episodes, with heartwrenching storylines, and barely bat an eye; but Laura crying and telling her baby "You're going to have a good life" . . . hoo boy, that had me tearing up
Laura went through all this just to give up her daughter that’s a true mother’s love ❤️ we love you laura
When I’m older I’ll adopt these kids that were forced to live on the street. I’ll give them a good home and lord of love and I’ll keep them forever.
This is one of the reasons I'm studying for a good job, to adopt homeless children that noone else will.
@@Thaisweetchillisensations That’s great. Thank you so much.
I hope you do you will be someone's Angel please do they need you

I STILL CANT GET OVER HOW GOOD THE LAST VID WAS
I've said it once and I'll say it again, Dr. Manning is so judgy. She's rich and can afford a hospital bill, she was never homeless and has a ton of privilege in this world. Ethan Choi, on the other hand, is so understanding and compassionate. I can't think of any juxtaposition better than driving up to this delivery in an expensive car. She carries so much judgment over this girl it's appalling.
@Aleema Khan She is still judgemental, her taking care of people gives her no excuse to be a jackhole to people of less privilege. She is so rude to this girl.
She is so annoying
I really dont like her character in chicago med
I don't think judgy is the right word. She just wants the best for her patients. But sometimes her words and deeds can be interpretated bitchy, i grant u that.
I would agree-if they weren’t speaking to a minor who didn’t even understand what her water-breaking meant. At hat point the age and lack of knowledge in the situation there in would be enough to consider her not in a state to make the correct decision for her life or her medical health.
This is all kinds of messed up. A 16 year old girl who is pregnant and is homeless living on the streets. And she's in labor on the streets in the freezing freaking cold. That's horrible.
And yet there is an increase of teenage pregnancy starting to become normalized and glamoured. What's so glamorous and wonderful about this young woman being in such a dangerous situation?
Of course it's messed up. The whole system is messed up. But how is teenage pregnancy being glamorised? It's common for sure, and being realistically depicted in this episode
girls living on the street can be subject to sexual violence. Same with foster care unfortunately.
What are you talking about? Teenage pregnancy rates have been steadily dropping for years as a result of legal abortion, tighter laws, and better access to birth control. Even if someone's trying to glamourise it, it's not working.
You're worried about teenage pregnancy skyrocketing? Then you should be concerned that the US is trying to take away birth control and abortion rights, because THAT is what causes higher rates of teen pregnancy. Not tv shows.
@@LordofFullmetal Yeah in the US because of that is so fucked up
it's dropping not increasing, do ur research right next time and do not go to untrusted websites
Yo what happened to the ambulance that was called lol
It came
They stop it bcoz the gurl don't want to take to the hospital
It probably never got called in the first place, you saw how they all were about hospitals
@@Alesha_Lewer But Dr. Choi told the other girl to call the ambulance and insisted on it when she refused to make the call.
No one called one
Laura died not long after this. She had Hep A and C. At least her baby, Anna, was healthy and got adopted by a good family. Laura got to see Anna with her new parents moments before she died.
If the adoptive parents had thought about adopting an older child instead of just wanting a fresh newborn, then Laura wouldn't have died at all.
@@Marzi29 Laura would have died anyway. She had had Hep A for many years and got Hep C from another street kid. It’s a miracle that Anna didn’t get it. If you’re so upset about people only adopting babies then why don’t you adopt an older child? Be the change you wish to see in the world.
@@kaylizzie7890 I think their point was that if they adopted her and if the system wasn’t messed up she wouldn’t be on the streets in the first place
@@kaylizzie7890amen! My cousin never got married or have children. So she adopted a teenage boy.
Oh man I was hoping for something better so sad how old was her baby when she saw her again
God this is the last place a baby should ever be delivered, frostnip can kill a newborn (frostnip is the less serious kind of frostbite but in infants and children it can be deadly )
The baby can die and have no breath
I absolutely cried when she gave birth😢😢😢

The fact that she was homeless, pregnant AND a teenager; just made my heart sink. 😢😢😢😢
How do people dislike this stuff
I can’t stop watching this on Netflix and UA-cam
Good job Laura!😭❤️
Laura’s acting is top notch literally
This is so traumatizing
The fact that she's 16 and a kid is so crazy
Not really a lot of girls get pregnant during teen years someone I know is about to have 1 in 3-4 months and she’s only 17
@@Goofy_Thief okay...? Just bcs alot of other teen girls get pregnant doesnt make it any less crazy, like she’s still a kid.
Just because she’s young doesn’t mean she’s crazy, a lot of teenagers that young go through pregnancy, yes some of them may not be fit to be mothers but others are and that doesn’t make any of them crazy or less crazy than one another. Getting pregnant as a teenager isn’t crazy because it happens to so many people.
@@paigesienna_8049 it is crazy though as they are still children. It is not unusual but still crazy
@@paigesienna_8049 It is fucking crazy. Stop normalizing it. Teenagers should enjoy being teenagers and not have the burden of motherhood that young. Some adults can't even handle the responsibility, what more a teenager not mature enough. The baby would only suffer.

same it literally scarred me
Saying that this is totally unrealistic is like saying that water is wet, obviously - but seriously, if this girl's waters broke 2 days ago, and thus she has had no amniotic fluid inside her keeping the baby alive inside her for 2 days - the baby simply CANNOT be alive.
Oh well it’s a show
Amniotic fluid does not keep the baby alive. It protects the uterus from infection along with the mucus plug.
Women have gone days or even weeks with no amniotic fluid because their water broke early. If that happens its an infection risk that needs to be monitored.
this episode is totally unrealistic for a number of reasons, but babies do not die in utero because of lack of amniotic fluid, that is simply not true
Yeah, that's complete bullshit. Your water can break and the pregnancy can be prolonged for a very long time with the proper precautions.
More likely there would be severe infection and kill them both
I was CRYING
she wants to help the homeless teenager on a streets she is not judgy
Yes of course
So sad
First of all, believe it was wrong for the teen to deliver her baby inside that small house. If she were in a hospital, she would have had medicine and doctors to help her deliver. Second, very few women give birth outside hospitals if the baby would come quickly. That is an extremely rare phenomenon. The likelihood of delivering a baby at home, in a car, elevator, or airplane is close to zero. Thirdly, it could be dangerous for Laura’s body to deliver a child at just 16. Johanna Elisabeth of Holstein-Gottorp delivered her first child Sophie, the future Catherine the Great of Russia, at the age of 16, and was bedridden for 19 weeks. Mary of Modena, the second wife of James II, delivered her first child Catherine Laura, also aged 16. Margaret Beaufort was 13 when she delivered Henry Tudor, later Henry VII. Because she was so damaged, she could never have children again. Giving birth in the Hospital is the best choice. If Laura had any family members, they could attend the birth of her daughter.
I can't believe that a teenager gave birth
you better believe
Poor girl she had to give birth while she was homeless and sick.
So somebody knocked this poor girl up and left her and the baby on the street 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Why wouldn't they send an ob/gyn?
Netflix is cool.
Why is the girl homeless whete is her family
True
Just here
In all seriousness though, babies don't need to be born in the hospital, an doctors don't need to deliver them. It's perfectly safe to deliver just with a midwife's help, very few extreme exceptions.
bruh what?!😭is it a joke
@@inabafatema4606 No, I'm a German, we have been doing this for centuries. The concept of a doctor delivering a baby is actually strange to us, except if something is wrong.

Probably because it’s not a real delivery.

An episiotomy in the field is insane. It would be far, far better to put a hand in there (gloved ofc) and turn the baby and reposition the shoulder. That's what they'd do in hospital too. This was so played up for shock value & it's especially stupid given she already has an infection
A very sad film
