    Hey Guys, Love the channel and watching you. A suggestion before heading out of the US is to talk to a vet and see if they can give you a small supply of medications for Compass so you have a just in Case supply if he gets ill.

    How does that little tiny doggy gate keep Compass inside the boat? My 8lb wonder at 13 would be over that in a second, and his jumping skills have gone down considerably! He used to be able to jump from the floor to the top of the kitchen table. I was very sad for him the first time he tried that and could only make it 3/4 of the way up and slid down the side of the folded down table top. Now he has steps to furniture, but can still make it up onto office chair, but steps help him to bed and to the couch and a lot less misses and falling down.

    I used to take my Nacra 6.0 catamaran over to Catalina in the evening by myself and sail at night with just the moon as my guide. I would sail right up to the a morning ball but before I got to the ball, a police boat would come over and direct me to one. All I had was a paddle because the wind is supper light because Avalon is in the lee of the island. Then I would take my camping equipment that I had previously packed into a dry bag and swim to shore and walk to the tent camping spot behind town. I'd wake up in the morning, have a bite to eat and head back. I've done that about 20 or so times. I did it on a Laser once as well. A Naple Sabot 1/2 way and a first generation windsurfer 1/2 way once as well.

    The compass does not have to be in the salon area, you can put it in one of the hulls. I did see an issue with your location for the compass and that is the close proximity of some electrical wiring, some appear to be 110v. Electricity does interfere with the compass, so if you have issues with the compass as you turn on items this could be the issue.

    That's a great idea to have two anchors mounted right in front like that! You should also have an extra one for the transom but make that one a large storm anchor that you break down and store. If you get into a hurricane, do as Captain Rick Moore did. He set two anchors on one chain and it worked perfectly. He has another video after going through two hurricanes in one week about how his anchoring system ended up working. He didn't move at all. Here is the set up video ua-cam.com/video/mziorTXQ5vY/v-deo.html

    You, of all people know the phrase, "plan your work, work your plan".
    Work before play!!!
    You were in the port, finish up that auto pilot. Should have finished that entire project before the sail over to the island.
    You too could have used that sail as a test before, you leave country!!
    What's another week!!! You've really got a lifetime...

    • @genewaddlerandomstuff2122
      @genewaddlerandomstuff2122 3 роки тому +1

      Perhaps they were going by another phrase, "live your life". I believe he was short a part to finish the autopilot. Why sit at an expensive dock waiting when they could be enjoying life and then move on down the coast. There was at least one more stop before leaving the country. If they don't finish something right now, it only affects them, no one else.
