Really glad that Teal is feeling better, you had us worried there for a while. So relieved that it is nothing that can't be easily sorted. Changing medications is always a touch and go situation. Here in the UK the NHS decided to change Atorvastatin to Simvastatin as Simvastatin was a cheaper and now generic drug. Trouble was Simvastatins had side effects that Atorvastatin didn't have. With me it was a dry ticklish cough, with others it was muscle pains. Reverting back to Atorvastatin cough went.
So glad to hear Teal is better. My wife and I were looking for your boat last week when we went from LA to SD to Ensenada. Fair winds and following seas
OMG 😱 WOW ‼️ 💯 👍 Guys, such a great episode. Soooooooooo many things we could talk, yet you covered them already. Looking forward to next week. ✨🌊🌬⛵️🏝👙🌞✨
Talk about modernizing a boat you have done so much to your boat that i have never seen any one else do how great is that and doing so its your home that you have to do these things to. Peace.
It's very good to hear that Teal is getting back to normal. Any change in meds can throw a person way off the path. "Kelp", Ah Darn !!!!!! So harbors don't warn a sailor about obstacles like crab pots laid out around the harbor entrance. They should. Glad to see the "Auto Pilot" is working and life is good. Have a safe trip south. God Bless.
I live and boat in San Diego. The lobster pots and kelp forests can be a challenge. Stay in water over 85 feet and the kelp is usually not a problem. Stay in the marked channel and the lobster pots aren’t a problem. The military presence overhead can be noisy but as we keep telling ourselves- it’s the sound of freedom.
I guess the pacific is named because it is so pacific. on the east coast if don't think i have ever been in such flat ocean. Teal should get a little jealous, Lynn is chatting up the guys on the dock. Beautiful boat and beautiful crew. Teal is a blessed man. thx for the post.
Goodness gracious those tacos looked yummy. Glad to hear the big guy is feeling better. The joys of not being so young anymore. I’m right there with ya buddy.
Born in Port Hueneme moved to Northern California near Yosemite long time ago , just seeing your locations makes my heart sink that how much I miss the ocean and that area you guys are going through, thanks for the memories..
Fantastic news on Teal's bloodwork! This episode was especially fun for me. I grew up in that area. Lived for many years in Oceanside, and my two older sons were born there. We lived a few blocks away from the harbor and used to go there all the times. Sailed out of their a few times on friend's boats. My Dad and Step Mom lived just to north of the jetty in South Mission. You sailed right by. Would have been able to see their house. I spent every Sunday there, and a bunch of the summer, and used to sail my little Sabot around in there. And I learned to sail in San Diego Bay on my step father's Lightning. Also had a little 14' boat there where I dumped my young family into the bay at one point, and finished off my sailing days in San Diego with a 1950's wooden sloop we had in Goleta Bay in Coronado near the Coronado hotel... Happy times!
Mission Bay. Fastest track on the Hydroplane circuit. Surprised a Seattle crew did not mention that... Salt water, and with that man made island in the middle to absorb all the rough water kick up when going around said island, we always run on top and in calm water. Laps in the 175mph range. September every year.. Love San Diego...
That kelp goes on forever!! We go to Mission Bay all summer long. One weekend we went from Mission Bay to San Diego Harbor and got into seaweed so thick I got afraid we weren't going to get out! But we did.
I used to sail out of Dana Point, Newport and Long Beach. I used to get to Newport early in the morning for a sailing class I was taking and it was a kick to see the fish jumping out of the glass like water you get mornings when the air is dead still. I remember lots of times during that morning class when there was no wind and we'd be stuck a long way from the sailing center so the instructor had to ferry people back and forth in her Zodiak so some could go to the next class and the new students get on the boats.
Nice episode, great that things are getting worked out. By now you're in Mexico, hope you all had time to drive up to Valle De Guadalupe for some incredible food! Hasta luego...
Great news about Teals health and the autopilot. 👍👍👍 My wife wants to know when a cook book is going to happen. And what’s the measurements on the items for the fish taco batter. Of course we love the show and can’t wait for the next one. Take care. God bless. Stay safe.
Great episode again this week, so glad Teal that your feeling better now, but my dog Jack said how is Compass …lol Loving the sailing now that heading more off shore, look forward to the video every week…… Jack n Steve ..🐶😎
It is rarely, if ever, a good idea to change a successful medication regimen unless there is an excellent, compelling reason to do so! Changing more than one thing at the time even further complicates the issue as you don’t have any way to be sure which one is the problem causer. Additionally, you must always remember that the “placebo” effect is VERY real. Placebo effect is not right or wrong. It just is.
The last time we were in Ensenada was to board the Solmar V and go 214 mile Southwest to Isla Guadalupe for cage diving with White Sharks. 🦈The trip of a lifetime!
Teal, glad your feeling better. To bad you were so busy going through that kelp bed it would have been a good place to drop a fish hook. You guys have a great time. P.S. Tacos and Tequila coming up.
I love seeing the Dolphins. So beautiful. Teal, I am so happy to hear you're okay. I like the fish batter recipe. Lihn, does it have to be a specific type of beer? I don't drink, but I can get different selections of single cans. Your Fish tacos look so good. Please forgive me for appearing stupid, the kelp, is it alive? Does it swim? How dangerous is this kelp? Is it only in shallower areas? Mexico here we come! I'm excited!
We all know the side affects of most medications, at least all of mine have one thing in common. This week I was in the hospital and they were planning to do surgery, so they added a stool softer and I tried to explain, all my medications do that, their is no reason to give me that medication, but they did anyways. Glad you are feeling better Teal and happy that you all can continue your journey.
Need to go pretty wide around the tip of point loma. The kelp forest right near the tip is pretty big. Good luck going to Ensenada. Be extra carful passing Rosarito beach in the dark; there are some huge tanker offload buoys for PeMex out there with no lights on them that were not on our charts last time sailing down there. As long as you're pretty far off shore, you should be ok. Also keep an eye out for the tuna pens once you get closer to Ensenada.
Glad to see you feeling better Teal, wishing for a new video by the end of this one, would have liked to see a little of the steering working, stay safe folks.
Glad you got your meds sorted out I love your channel
Fish taco's have never appealed to me.... Until now. Looks scrumptious!
That's the best video of dolphins playing near your boat and around it. Peace.
absolutey gorgeous and Mission bay california is gorgeous.
Gotta love Dolphins- busy chasing dinner, yet have time to ride a few bow waves...
Be safe Basik crew on your passage!!
YOU LOOK SO MUCH BETTER CHIP TAKE CARE!!!

How exciting to enter into Mexico 🇲🇽. I look forward to seeing all the Baja anchorages....which I last saw 22 years ago.
So glad to hear Teal is better. My wife and I were looking for your boat last week when we went from LA to SD to Ensenada. Fair winds and following seas
Teel, Er....My Dad had an old ststement you used to use at times like this. "You can't shine a Tennis Shoe!"
Great news to hear that Teal is OK!
So exciting. It’s like Christmas Eve!
Very pleased to see Teal back up and running. I did notice one of the cable retainers wasn't quite as straight as the others. So are you really OK?
OMG 😱 WOW ‼️ 💯 👍 Guys, such a great episode. Soooooooooo many things we could talk, yet you covered them already. Looking forward to next week. ✨🌊🌬⛵️🏝👙🌞✨

How did I not know about this channel... Great show.
Liked the music choice with those great dolphin shots. They are such amazing creatures and so incredibly evolved for their marine environment.
Glad you are feeling better Teal. Fair winds and following seas Basik.
The only think better than fish tacos are shrimp tacos or a combination of both! YUM
Caught in the kelp beds in San Diego. Brings back memories.
Great news about Teal and yes Teal, you ARE looking good. :)

Linh, when you said “we’re sailing!” I couldn’t help but recall Weekend at Bernie’s…. 😂 at least you weren’t strapped to the front of the mast!
You guys were listening to Above & Beyond as you were anchoring in Mission Bay? They’re my favorite group!
So glad to hear the teal field feel better :) can't wait to see you guys in la paz!
Mission Bay/San Diego .. those are my old college days stomping grounds 🤣 - I miss the wooden roller-coaster.
Happy travel
Good to see you found what your health issue was Teal.
Wow.....looks like you drifted into the " Sargasso Sea " there.
Autopilot, fish tacos, and (most importantly) healthy blood work…life is good for the crew of SV Basik! Happy for you!
Great news about Teal's health! Wishing you good luck on your passage.

Chopsticks come in handy for so many things. I use them on my reef tank for odd jobs that need to get done.
Great news about Teals health and the autopilot. 👍👍👍

Teal, glad your feeling better. To bad you were so busy going through that kelp bed it would have been a good place to drop a fish hook. You guys have a great time. P.S. Tacos and Tequila coming up.

"ve con Dios" 🙏⛵
Linh broke out the Thickened Epoxy juice? Glad Teal's getting better.
The giggles at Teals expense we my highlight. Find more kelp patches please. Incredible editing as always.
Glad to hear that Teal's health is well and is feeling his best....Safe and happy sailing...
So glad to hear Teal is healthy and back on track…..we had to sell our boat due to a skin cancer diagnosis. Great news….
We are sorry to hear about that. Prayers to your speedy recovery.
When you get to Ensenada try one of those clam cocktails. Almejas
As an old SD Sailor the kelp bed is an easy mistake to make, glad you worked your way out easily.
Us too!
Awesome another episode!!
🌺🦋🐬 The crew needs palm trees and white beaches ⛵️🏖🏝🐬
So looking forward to seeing your beautiful family adventure 🏖🏝🦋🐬⛵️🌈🇦🇺🇺🇸
How far south are going
Teal, I am happy for the result, about this tickling to death thing, that's a no as Emma needs her mum.

Good new about Teal's health. I know how a change of medicine can be bad. Decades ago a change in medicine for epilepsy was nearly fatal.
Glad you're feeling better....was it your statin that had been changed? Good you caught it early.
Love watching those tacos look great I’m glad you’re doing good to you Teal let’s get to Mexico
Nice video
Sailing though the kelp forest looked like a sci-fi spaceship caught in an asteroid belt. 🚀✨

Teal, how is that water maker project coming along?
We will be covering that topic in one of the next few episodes.
Glad to see you feeling better Teal, wishing for a new video by the end of this one, would have liked to see a little of the steering working, stay safe folks.
More to come! Thanks Royce!
