My wife does not cook! It is pure torture when Line shows her dishes. I'll just have to make my breakfast a little bit sooner - toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon (Lox). After that - I am not sure. Maybe turkey burgers, maybe just beer! Teal - you are a lucky man to be so well-fed. :¬) Webhead USA
I spent some month camping in Baja, where I met an old Baja Hand who used to smoke Barracudas with the roots he got from old dead Yucca cacti. Unbelievably delicious even weeks later when wrapped in paper towels and kept in a refrigerator.

Umm Hmmmm, Would that coyote talk be about our dog getting bit on the rear by a coyote while prowling the beach?! Yeah, we had to scare it off by screaming and hurry to get Auggie(our dog) and hurry to put some stuff to help with the bite!! Also, I hope you guys had put all the fresh water away because those pesky bees are annoying all the time and will keep coming even for the smallest amount of fresh water!! FISH ON! nice catch Teal. Not sure which is better, watching teal reel in a fish or seeing what Linh creates with it. Fair winds and following seas Basik.
Oh gosh Teal that Dorodo could have pulled you in. That was a big fish. Good catch Teal! Loved seeing all the delicious meals Lihn made out of it. I loved looking back out toward the ocean seeing where SV Basik was anchoraged. Beautiful scenery. Love seeing the Dolphins. So glad to see you Teal, Lihn, & Emma. I hope the storm turns away from you. Looking forward to next week.
Linh, I keep asking when you're going to be publishing the Basik Cookbook, and you've not done it yet. So I'm asking again... PLEASE publish a cookbook! SO happy to see Emma enjoying life. Well done. Teal, that Dorado looked really good. Nice catch! I just have one word for you with regard to those hatches: Screen. Fair winds folks! ⛵
That's a nice fish. Good thing you have freezers. Having a great cook, helps as well. When I first went cruising, we only had an ice box. Catching a fish was a blessing and a burden. Having to eat it before it went bad, made for an interesting menu. On the Bees, fast jerky movement make them more likely to sting. Slow and smooth is the best way to move. Hope y'all had a good Thanksgiving.
Loved the watch... Great job. Bee's, ah, NO THANKS... Don't do things that fly and sting!!! I'd have been sooo,, out-a-there!!! Now I understand why no one lives along the shoreline.. no way there would be so much uninhabited land here... 400 ft, wow. Never knew it was so deep. I live on the Gulf of Mexico in FL, heck we have to go out 30 miles just to get to 100ft. Your fishing over there must be outstanding...
Watching the behavior of one on Lin's skin and the fact that they would have to be able to make a distinction between salt water and fresh, it appears the Bees are probably incredibly sensitive to moisture that is relatively low in or free from salt. No doubt it is essential to production of honey and judging from the scenery would probably normally be quite difficult to obtain except from plants and any dew that might occur in the mornings.
Oh you…… lol. Great one! You traded for yellow fin tuna. There’s a different species called a yellowtail. They get to be about 70lbs and average 20-40lb and will use all your might and you will be amazed. 40lb line and a sardine “fly lined” or a jig on the surface or bottom. Often called Hamachi.
Any guide from Loreto has California jigs. We bring them lots. Ask in advance for “surface irons”. Long diamond shaped jig thats painted mint, sardine, bird poop, scrambled egg, yellow and they run shallow and wobble! They are across the channel from loreto for sure. I’ve caught many there. They will “rock” you at anytime. Delicious!
Guys I hope you are keeping a watch out for rattlesnakes while you are hiking around in that terrain. It looks like prime rattlesnake territory to me. You probably would want to keep compass on a short leash when you venture inland. Interesting picture and information on the strong currents there, was not expecting that.
@@Drifter6942 Perhaps that explains why my kids are in their 20's and don't seem to be in a hurry to move out 🤣 They're good kids and i'm not pushing them out either.
Is it just my imagination or do your episode views go up proportional to your cuisine cameos! The only thing better than that would be for you to film me sampling them! Do the bees actually come out looking for nectar and pollen on boats? I sure didn't see anything on your hike ashore that the bees could use.
Really enjoy the episodes that you put out. Just wondering, does Emma still do school work and play her violin. Haven't seen it in a number of more recent episodes.
Emma does 3-4 hours of schooling every day, seven days a week, year round. She does get travel days off if they are longer passages. You will see a violin segment in next week's video.
They actually work well. As we approached the beach Emma was so excited to see her friends that the camera went idol. We will show how they work for us in future videos.
Great catch Teal ! Also, great job Linh at filleting that big fish and making it so useful! Have y’all tried any of the insect related smoke devices on the bee problems? Just a thought. They can bee😉useful at times here in Florida (mosquitos, gnats, and no-see-umm). Don’t forget-we love drone views! Stay safe ⛵️
Hi guys! I hear putting out a buck of fresh water would or should attract the bees to the bucket but at the same time it would probably attract more bees. Glad no one is allergic to stings! Ouch Guys!! 🐝 😃
We have tried that and all it does is create a swarm condition. These bees live in an arid environment and are instinctively attracted to your vessel no matter what precautions you take. The bees in the Sea of Cortez only live 30-60 days so they have to survive by finding a sip or two of water from passing boats.
When in Rome you do like the Romans do. Drive bees away naturally with cucumber peel, peppermint, and/or cinnamon. Water and vinegar in a spray bottle is too stinky. Swatting bees in your dreams is an indication for your emotional desires.
