- Star Wars Trilogy Arcade gameplay was running a little too fast in my previous build overview video. Simple fix though, I just needed to download the newest version of the Sega Model 3 emulator. This is cabinet is so awesome. Favorite star wars game off all time is KOTOR and this game is a really close second, with shadows of the Empire on N64 3rd.

Xwing vs tie fighter. Got it soon after I got my first pc and was my first online multiplayer experience. That game was such a "blast".

John Smitherson there are quite a few great Sega model 3 games out there to play. The Jurassic Park Lost World shooter is one of my personal faves.

I enjoy your videos. I have fond memories playing the Atari Star Wars Arcade, both stand up & the sit-down versions as a kid. Was only able to play the Empire version a couple of times before they were taken away for newer machines. Was able to play ROTJ later on. The Trilogy game came along when I was recovering from a kidney transplant 20 years ago. I’d go to the mall to walk to get exercise and my strength back. The arcade there had this game and I was able to sit and play for a while to take a break. Favorite I think is Knights of Old Republic.
what an awesome story, thanks for sharing! I can imagine that was a rough bit of time there for a while recovering from the surgery. Nice to hear that the arcade was there to make the rehab process a little more pleasant.
This version of Star Wars looks awesome. I hope arcade 1up brings this out except I like the yoke better than the Joyce stick

Awesome build! I'm building a pc based multicade machine with swappable control panels and will be using my GRS S.W. yoke for both Trilogy and Battle Pod.

I loved this game back in the 90's...even just watching people playing! My favourite Star Wars games ware probably Knights of the Old Republic and Tie Fighter. Awesome games!

I've definitely considered it, I just need to spend a weekend playing with the technoparrot emulator and try configuring it with the joystick. Should be doable though.

Original Clone Wars game for Gamecube was 1st SW game I ever beat. Love the Lego SW games. Would love to have a cabinet like yours. Can the Arcade Trilogy be Moded to the Legends cabinet?
CanDo Entertainment the only way to play it on the legends cabinet would be to hook the legends cabinet up to a PC and wire a usb encoders into the controls sadly

Great mod. I am working on my own Star Wars themed cab as well. Was wondering if you were able to dial in the analog stick properly with this game and supermodel3? I have an analog stick as well and I have the same issues with it seeming to be jumpy and not as smooth as I would like. If you could share your settings for the controls or a video showing how you calibrated it that would be awesome. Keep up the good work!
You gotta do a video at least on how to map the controllers for this emulator. I can't get correct mapping for any game so far.

I honestly thought in the first video you just sped up the gameplay in editing. To think you were actually playing at that speed is a little nuts.
@Randy Smith some of the speed of the previous gameplay footage was due to me editing multiple clips shoot in different frame rates, but yea overall the game was still running too fast originally. Very happy that it was just a simple software fix to correct it.
Do you think a raspberry pi 4 8gb ram version be able to run Sega Model 3? It runs Dolphin, and Sega Naomi (which is the same engine as Sega Model 2) so it might be theoretically possible. I'd love to build a full size version of this but unfortunately I don't have the room for a cab, so I'm thinking of building just the control panel with the analogue controller and event buttons and with an led powered raised marquee header, kind of like a fightstick version I could play on my TV. I'm just trying to figure out how I could make it work lol.

I downloaded the files you linked and fired it up. It's playing fast for me. I notice it in the countdown timer. Can you share what settings you're using? Are you using the 32bit or 64 bit one?
Same for me too. Only sometimes it is fast and sometimes it is slow. Were you able to tweak it and get it to work?
Loading up swtrlgy for me makes it fast...loading up swtrlgya is normal speed
Awesome cab, great job on the video too, quality stuff here. Did the original arcade game have just a joystick? - seems like a lightgun would be better. If someone figures out how to mod the A1UP Star Wars cab, do you think this would be fun to play with the yoke? - seems it would be great for the space sections, but not the ground based or lightsaber sections? maybe a yoke and a joystick... somehow? any thoughts?
I have the Star Wars cab, and I am really hoping someone mods it to play other games like Road Blasters, Spy Hunter, and now I want this game too!
My suggestion is that you team up with Retro Ralph, Glen and ETA Prime and do an awesome mod of everyone's favorite A1UP, the SW Cab..... Please!
I seem to always get visual glitches on the Hoth level regardless of settings
Love this mod...do you play any other games on this machine, or is it 100% dedicated? I’m thinking about doing a similar mod w a flight stick and accelerator so I can play battlepod on it too...
I play a few other games on the cabinet as well, but obviously its somewhat limited by the buttons. I mainly play afterburner and galaga besides star wars lol
Did you use any particular settings in supermodel to get this working right? I have a similar setup to you but can’t get the target to stop jumping around. I turned on vsync to get the frame rate settled and have played with the other settings but haven’t found a magic combo. What did you use?
Thanks for the video! You've inspired me to start my own build. I have installed the flight stick, but up and down do not seem intuitive to me, as they seem to be reversed. Is there a way to switch that in the emulator settings?
Got the ultimarc joystick and is it me or is the up, down backwards?? Saw you said the controls are flipped for lightsaber battle...so did you reverse them to play backwards? (Pushing forward makes crosshairs go down and pulling back makes crosshairs go up). I contacted Ultimarc and they want me to shop the stick back...but seeing this...this may be why it seems wrong.
Hey CoolToy! Comparing the emulator to the original Arcade...the red event buttons would light up during certain times on the Arcade game - how much is that missed using the emulator version? Thanks!
I just installed this on my Star Wars cabinet, its running on a Core i5 3.2 Ghz with 8gb RAM. The original version I had ran too fast like yours, this one seems to run slightly slower than full speed. I also randomly run into the game going to a black screen after selecting my level. I'm at a loss.

I downloaded the same SVN build but when I start SWT the video is crazy quick and the sound is very delayed. Vader sounds like a slow robot - sounds awful

I think this thing looks and plays amazing! I picked up a used rampage arcade 1up do you need to have a vertical orientation monitor arcade 1up or does that not matter to do this mod? Can we buy the marquee just like yours and is the art work hard to apply?
it doesn't matter which cabinet you use if you are trying to do this same mod. You would just need to mount the monitor differently if you use one that was vertical originally. The marquee artwork and cabinet artwork can all be purchased from arcadegraphix.com and its a simple process to apply the graphics, just make sure you take your time and dont rush it.

Hello. Can you let me know how you fixed all the graphical errors. I just got trilogy working on my PC. Using swtrilgya rom. This is my wife's favorite game and our apartment is crazy small so we can't get an arcade cabinet. I'm trying to find a hotas/flight stick that would work so she can play as close to the real thing as possible. Any input or recommendations would be awesome. Thank you for this. The lockdown has her really depressed.

So I got the computer and the monitor. I downloaded the emulator and put the roms on there and got it working. Game speed though is all over the place. Sometimes it's normal, sometimes its super slow, and sometimes it really fast. Any suggestions?

Did you check throttle in the settings?
Do you know if supermodel3 will run trilogy (at the correct speed) on a pi3 (I'm trying with a 3 v1.2 (not B or B+))? if not on a pi3 then maybe a 4? finding reliable info on this is difficult.
Supermodel 3 will only run on a PC currently

The stick seems to be a little jerky.
@Ultimo I'm still dialing in the sensitivity settings on the stick, but overall I'm very pleased with the performance of this stick and highly recommend it.

@max19116 not at this time as the only way to play it currently is via emulation. It's not been released on any Streaming platforms anywhere.
