- This is our 30th episode of Forgotten Favorites where we dive into some of our favorite retro videos games of all time.
In this episode we jump into Sega's Star Wars Trilogy Arcade Game which is being emulated from the Sega Model 3 Collection on Batocera using my HP Pavilion Gaming PC.
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade is an arcade game developed by Sega's AM Annex subsidiary and released in 1998. It is a 3D rail shooter based on the original trilogy of Star Wars films, released alongside their special editions. Accompanied by the Star Wars Trilogy pinball game, it is the second in Sega's Star Wars Arcade series; it is preceded by 1993's Star Wars Arcade and followed by 2000's Star Wars Racer Arcade.

Sega was so mean to not release this game, Daytona 2 and Super GT. I said to myself I would spend $20 to play this game at the arcade after I finish college. But I never did. Now 20 yrs later I can at least see it on UA-cam.
True it would have been nice for it to have hit dreamcast but at the same time it probably wouldn't have had the same look and feel.

Great taste in games!!!! This game was the reason I bought a Dreamcast. But it never made it in the Dreamcast library. I like the flight stick idea for Batocera.

Rogue squadron 3 on the gamecube the best one in my humble opinion, better than battle pod arcade i think, it was like the movies, especial the battle of Endor stage and the snow stage, this was the best one of the 1990's probably.

I set my Logitech joystick up with this game just the other day and I can’t quite get the calibration right. It jumps over parts of the screen and I can’t get it to be at least smooth, I know it’s already tough to be accurate. But wondering how you set this up?

I just found one on the ocean city boardwalk and I shit you not people were lined up watching me play. Thing needed the dust knocked off of it. I probably haven’t played it in about 10 years
What emulator plays this, and where can you get the rom?
so your stick isn't inverted for flight, and i doubt you played this on the real arcade. or you'd remember, torpedos is the LEAST of what that secondary button did. when it lit up, you hit it, and it would call in wing men reinforcement in space mission....
my brother and I would always play this in an arcade growing up. we would play this all the time. sadly, it has disappeared, and I wish to relive it what do you us for your pc? Or if anyone knows please let me know.

Somehow never saw this btd. Got you play it for the first time at Jedi Alliance Arcade in Spokane WA. Really cool and unique experience on an OF pedestal setup, playthrough 90% of the game.

How do you get this running on a raspberry 4? Cant get the Supermodel stuff smooth like this. It is the best arcade game ever.
I haven't tried on a pi 4. Definitely would need a 4gb ram version but may even need to overclock. I'm running it on Batocera with my gaming PC so the capabilities are much more beyond that of a pi 4.
I have that on my Batocera build too.
Tested it for a few mins so far but thats all.

I was never a frequent arcade goer back in the day but I remember checking out the Tekkens and Virtua Fighters of the time. (Lets not even start on Mortal Kombat 😁)
But man, this game would have been awesome especially back in the day I mean.
Thats the great thing about emulation though, we can play systems we never had access to back then and games we could never buy.

Couldn't agree more! Emulation makes everything possible. I myself didn't dive into the Wii console but with Batocera I've been able to experience what I missed out on all those years ago.
This game works well with a game pad controller. I used a Xbox controller and it was decent but definitely better with the joystick.
Would you make a video on Star Wars Battle Pod? It costs 30 to 100k buy a new system and it takes 15 minutes to finish. I say it's a fair deal.

Batocera with a gaming PC is what I used. Haven't tried retropie yet but it may work there as well. It's in the Sega model 3 collection.

You can download the rom and add it into Batocera or what emulation platform you are using as long as it supports Sega model 3. Batocera does which is what I used here.

Man haha I remember some twitchy pros that would just like...have some sort of double tap technique so they had a higher rate of fire? haha it's like finger tip pushups are the only exercise they do xD
Just had a thought if this could be made in Unreal haha. The graphics aren't so far off from how XWing Alliance looked on the PC. I totally forgot that game got the Unreal treatment and it looks awesome =D
