    Emulation Speed Easy Fix Here: ua-cam.com/video/w6vF3Dzc5_Y/v-deo.html
    And yes, I'm fully aware of the game the Sega 32X is based on, that's why I was trying to point out that just because they both have the words "Star Wars Arcade" in their names, they aren't the same game. I just misspoke and said "Star Wars Trilogy Arcade" when I meant to say just Star Wars Arcade. The dang names are too similar lol.

      I highly recommend you get the new SVN's for the Supermodel emulator. Years ago they updated it and fixed numerous things including the lightsaber issue on the bonus stage, sound emulation and much more. I love this game and might do this mod myself come tax time next year!!
      EDIT: This is the SVN I use. Game runs flawlessly with it.

    You might want to look in to getting a different version of Supermodel, looks like you're using 0.2a. I noticed that the lightsabers show up black and that scene where the Star Destroyer flies over, the engines have this weird rotating effect that's not supposed to happen. I'm running 0.3a and it gets rid of all the graphical weirdness.

    My dream would be to integrate this into the Star Wars cabinet. So you can play the included trilogy (played this as a kid) or switch to the Sega one you have here. Maybe even throw in some classic PC Rebel Assault too. Since they're all largely similar style fly/shoot games and should work great with that yoke. It would turn it into the ultimate Star Wars classic arcade.

    Got a question. Building my custom SW cab based off of yours. Arcade graphix has a SW Trilogy cab graphics kit that includes a bezel. Yet, you reference the dell monitor bezel for Tulsa Arcades. I don't need both bezels do I? I'd prefer the Arcade graphix one because it has the stars graphic that matches the rest of the cab. But, if the Tulsa Arcade one is specific for the size of the monitor I don't watt to get the wrong one. Thanks all!

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  4 роки тому

      the bezel graphic from Arcade graphix is simply a sticker to place on the bezel. It needs something to be applied to. You don't have to use the monitor bezel from Tulsa Arcades, you could attempt to make you own, but I just find it much more painless to use their great bezel, and then apply whatever graphics I need on top of the bezel. Tulsa Arcades has a few sizes available. Just tell them what monitor you are using and they will make sure you end up with the correct bezel size. They have great customer service.

    Question...Did you just use the arcade1up space invaders as a shell for this? And is the part with the flight stick and large buttons custom or is that part of the arcade1up cabinet too? I just bought one of the ultimarc controllers and I want to build one of these for me since it's my favorite arcade game of all time.

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  4 роки тому +1

      Yes I used a space invaders Arcade1Up cabinet as the shell. The control panel was custom made by myself since the original space invaders control panel holes would not have lined up how I wanted. Diyretroarcade and 99livesarcade are two very good 3rd party vendors with websites that sell custom control panels if you don’t have the time or skills to make your own. I can vouch for their quality and highly recommend both companies

    If you’d really like, you could find an actual arcade board for that game and see if it’ll fit. Someone did that to a mortal kombat 2 arcade1up to make it a mortal kombat 4.

    Amazing videos!!! I know I’m late to the game on this based on all the prior posts, but this game never goes out of style. One detail I was not able to find any information on was - How/Where do you actually find the game? Once you do the build, how do you get the game? Also, with your insight and the new technology available, if you would be so kind to update the product list, that would be wonderful!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that you see this comment. 🤞🏻

    Ok another question. Is there a specific way to mount the joystick to the control panel? I went on Ultimarc's website but I could not find any specific installation instructions for the flight model. Did you have to take the black grip apart in order to mount it to your custom board you made or is there an easier way to do it?

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  4 роки тому +1

      corwin8919 the PCB under the control joystick is held in by 4 screws. You can easily remove the screws and rotate the PCB board to be orientated in any way that helps you

    I don't know how much it costs, and how many man-hours to put everything together... but an original SWTA goes for not less than 3k on ebay, has been for over 20 years now. If you can make this repro for less than that... I'd consider buying it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one!

    Aside from the TMNT cab we got, I think a Cruis'n trilogy sit-down racing cab would be awesome.
    My Chuck E. Cheese had a Star Wars Trilogy cabinet. I was never super great at it but it was always super fun! Does your event button flash when it's supposed to in-game? Not sure if that was a thing that happened or if I'm remembering incorrectly.
    Nice job on the mod by the way, it turned out great!

      my event buttons don't flash, they just stay on. There is a way to get them to flash, but its a pain and in the long run, something I decided wasn't worth the hassle to mess with.

After about 30 dollars in training, I was able to beat it in one credit. Much to my surprise, I only achieved the second best rank. What else could I have done? I find it funny that when Vader and his cronies appear in the Death Star Trench your told to shoot down the one on Vader's side first, but there are two Tie Fighters accompanying him. LOL!!! (Maybe I always mishear it).

    How did you use the USB encoder with the ultimarc flight stick being that it is analog? Didn’t you lose that functionality as an analog stick? I’m stuffing to figure out how to connect my led buttons with the joystick so my system thinks it’s all one controller

    • @cooltoy

      Ultimarc joystick is its own encoder, the usb encoder I used is just for the separate start and action buttons.
