"you have to climb out, what are you doiiiinng?" had me dying of laughter
i liked that part too
I binged six or so climbing fails last night, i think this was my favorite. you found some treasures! deep water landslide was a classic, girl who couldn't place gear (hope she is ok), and the rope behind the leg pendulum, wow. Bonus baby sounds and your wife calling the dude out for cheating slayed me. Awesome job.
6:22 I don't think I 100% agree with that
I would argue that you should be trying stuff above your limit (how to find it outherwise?) And sometimes find yourself totally pumped to clip the next gear when trying a project.
Beeing at your physical limit does not mean beeing out of your confort zone, or doing something dangerous, you can do it in a safe manner if you know what you are doing. (and be aware of your surroundings and be able to assess the danger of the situation)
Ouch ! ! ! ! WOW Elyse shared my same reactions. The videos were a little small to really to see well. but still a great learning experience. Can't wait for the next video.
Hey man thanks for the content i have learned a lot. Just got out of the army and am getting into mountaineering and you teach me quite a bit about little things i need to learn.
At 3:05, it really looks as if the belayer totally loses control, and may even have let go completely before he hits the ground, and the last piece in has no slack, suggesting belayer error in the end.
hey josh, just found your channel and wanted to give some encouragement! keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll continue getting more and more successful!
means a lot thanks!
I super agree. Great personality paired w great content. Stoked on ya, man. I’m sharing your stuff around. Keep it up, brother! We need more fun and less heady climbing stuff on UA-cam and it’s not sacrificing the core lessons. You just compliment them w humor. Dope.
Nice you have a intro video now. LoL
Still gotta climb out though!
Glad I found your channel
The footage is pretty tiny in relation to the screen. Hard to watch on a mobile, sadly.
Nice, more of these bro!
Haven't actually climbed yet been watching a ton of videos in prep from the gym. ROPE BEHIND THE LEG!!!!!
You're wife gave great reactions
The girl who fell at 3:12, could it be that she didn’t put in a first piece to hold an outward pull and so her 3 pieces all reverse zippered or do you think it was just all bad placements?
Brother, would you mind making some video playlists that I could access similar vids? I’m trying to watch your fail series in order and it’s hard to figure out by digging around. Maybe you could also do a rope series like knots, hitches, and anchors or something and just a few diff ones. Thanks ahead. Your content is awesome
Thanks, good Point ill do that!
If you grab draws and cannot clip make sure you are using full width dogbones, thin draws can make your hand slide and it has been know for the biner to pierce the hand. ouch.
you have to watch video of santa repelling down rope and gets his beard stuck and docent have jumar to climb up so he gets stuck hahahahah
Santino Sunseri you think I haven’t seen that!? 🤣 lol classic
There are actually two different times that’s same thing happend! Crazy
Your wife's reactions were very similar to mine.
holy crap, recently saw one of the newer climbing fails episodes and they were pretty chill compared to this stuff. Some serious injury here
Be a good rock climbing dad man I wish your little family the best man cute couple.
"you should climb within your climbing limit" not really, basically you have to know how to fall and be aware when it can occurs. Nobody will ever push the limits of climbing without falling.
Fair point old school method was push the limits on top rope. And climb under your limit on trad but bolts have changed the game.
These 5 examples are amazingly usefu, poor rock quality, jumping off of the gear placements' side, climbing on the wrong side of the rope, poor gear placements, leading and trying to clip in when pumped. I'm watching every single video you've posted, Joshua. Cheers, Adrian
Adrian Calgary hey! Glad to have you on board 🤙🏻 cheers!
@@BetaClimbers My pleasure, I've added a couple of your videos on the Rope Solo Facebook group already, you need a boost for the fantastic job you're doing.
You're going to have to explain to me how you're supposed to get better if you don't climb over your limit ! For some reason top roping is not really a thing in france, so if you want to get better you're going to have to go take a few whippers !
Cheers
It gets into a ethics argument. When trad climbing, if others saw you climbing on something way over your climbing limits you would have been mocked. With bolted climbs the ethics have changed. And maybe for the better I think it has produced stronger climbers. However if some one was going to transition from sport climbing to trad they should be trad climbing under their limit especially if they don’t have years of experience placing gear. This is all just my opinion modeled by the ethics I was raised in so. 🤙🏻
@@BetaClimbers pretty sure that dude was sport climbing. it looked bad because the gopro fell off, i think he only fell one bolt though. tough to tell.
Unfortunately this is what people think about rock climbers.🤣 98% of us are strong and calculating. Use gear properly
If you dont wear a shirt at least wear a scateboard on your back
