The brand new 6-inch Kobo Clara Color, Kobo Clara B&W and the 7-inch Kobo Libra Color ebook readers are released, so in this video I do a size comparison between the Kobo Clara and the Kobo Libra e-readers to help you decide before you buy! Both are excellent e-readers, one more portable than the other but still not so huge difference in actual screen size. The edge with the physical buttons makes the Kobo Libra e-readers quite much physically bigger without gaining so much more screen real estate. Both ebook readers are quite light to hold in the hand though.

The screen is actually 36% bigger which is a lot. Portability is great on Clara but I really like to hold Libra 2. I think they are equally good and they do some things better than the other.

I bought a Libra. Kept it for a few months then replaced it with a Clara. I hardly used the Libra when I had it. Never seemed to have it handy. The little bit of extra size makes a big, negative difference. Clara fits in men’s pants pockets.

I have never own a pocketbook e-reader but reading pdf that you don’t convert to epub first usually need a larger display. So 7-8 inch is better.

Libra hade varit perfekt utan den breda kanten på höger sida. Förstår inte vitsen med fysiska knappar. Vilken är mest bekväm att hålla i när man ligger i soffan eller sängen?

Kobo Clara är helt klart bekvämast fast bara om man använder en popsocket på baksidan. Då kan man enkelt läsa med en hand. Jag gillar inte heller fysiska knappar

Thank you for the informative review, I am just wondering which of the two devices has more crisper and sharper text , also regarding the user experience, many have said Libra can be lagging while using sometimes, what’s your take on that…?

Both has the same dpi 300 so the Clara has a crispier display because it has a smaller display. And none of them lag for me because I run koreader on both and has done that from the start.

The new has carta 1300 display and the old carta 1200. Not a huge difference. Slightly faster and slightly better contrast.

The old Kobo Clara 2e black & white is codenamed "N506". Do you think the new one will keep the same codename i.e. it will be sold as an update of the old version or is it going to have a different codename given that it has different cpu (according to what I read from the internet) and thank you so much for your reviews..
