The definition of evil these days is pretty unclear. It appears to have more to do with circumstance rather than actions. If we continue this trend, games and media are going to have to keep using Germans (or conservatives provided they continue to demonize them)

@@randeli7785 Jacks always been evil, he and the rest of the court of Blades came from the void and took over albion before the old kingdom was made and had to be stopped by William Black, the first hero who went on to become Scythe
@@sz-nurek I'm going to have a guess at technically no as she did sort of merge with the protagonist at the end of that game. We won't even know if Fable The Journey is cannon to the whole story of Fable until people get the game.

I’m honestly surprised they never did a remastered version of any of the Fable games…
For the love of god, I hope character creation is a thing in this. Did they remove rifles and pistols?
But that's like removing the charm and quirkiness from Fable's combat. I, for one, absolutely loved those combat flourishes and slow-motion camera effects, whether it was in close quarters or from miles away with your rifle.
It sort of looks more like the time period of fable 1, which had bows and crossbows. Im only saying this based off the lack of industrialized or clockwork aesthetic of fable 2 and 3. So yes it is possible this one may have bows and crossbows again instead of pistols and rifles.
Rifles and pistols only came in the sequels the original fable has crossbows and bows
Guns came with Fable 2, not on 1

The Hero of Oakvale would absolutely style on these fools.
Technically, The "GREATEST HERO" of Albion, Lore wise, would be Scythe the Necromancer BEFORE he was Scythe the Necromancer. Y'see, it's never stated outright, but in Fable (the lost chapters, anniversary, Flavor Text in 2 and 3) its implied that Scythe is the Heroic Remains of the Hero of Oakvale and Theresa's Ancestor, who slew the King and Queen of blades, but was corrupted by the sword of Aeons, turning him into Scythe, a mere Echo of what he once was. (It's also implied that Scythe is STILL out there, in the later games.)
But yeah, Fairly certain his name wasn't Humphrey. However... Humphrey DOES look a bit familiar. We have no idea WHERE in the timeline it's set, but that's CLEARLY Castle Fairfax, so Bowerstone Exists... Meaning this COULD be a Prequel, and Humphrey COULD be, seeing as he seems to fill that role, Destined to grow old, and telepathically Tell us "Hero, Your Health is low. Do you have any food, or potions?"...
I can't recall, but did the Guildmaster ever have a listed Name?
And that "girl who made the wrong choices" that "wants to make it all right" with that staff that's growing vines, was wearing a VERY familiar SCARLET ROBE. Could it be A certain Heroes Mother?(by the same name?)

It'd be interesting to see how the gameplay works out because by premise, this looks like a Karate Kid story in a fantasy setting.

It's possible, I mean I'm sure there will be an amount of customization, but the MC here feels pretty characterized, so I wouldn't be surprised if she was canon. If it is optional, then I do gotta give them props for using her in the marketing instead of the male PC, since for most games with gender-selection the male version is used for most promo-material or is basically implied to be the "canon" version of the two.
You choose between male and male pretending to be a female.
Considering the cutscene references the hero directly as being a "She" probably not.

The only game to do main characters right is Mass effect. They had a character customization, also they had cannon male and female characters that were pretty equally promoted in commercials and advertisements. Pretty much pleases everyone.

You don't customize your character, outside of clothes and MAYBE dye your hair and hair cut later on.
at most you customize (pick) the gender. Which they may have. Your character changes based on what you eat, do, and say. Which with the retired hero we can see they have black then blonde hair... Change of morality. That's why the main character is only a fair build with brown hair n eyes, in a middle state before any changes made through what you do.

Honestly, people crying aside, I think that would actually be pretty novel. We usually see the male version of the PC as default in like....most media, so leading the marketing with the female PC would be a nice change of pace.

I’m a little worried after seeing this. The fable games were special cause it allowed you to make a character and have them act however you wanted (the name “fable” literally represents that idea). This trailer gives the impression that you’ll be playing someone else’s fable instead of your own
None of the fable games ever let you make your own character. You pick either male in fable, or male and female in 2 and 3, and then you change them with your choices. I swear none of you have actually played fable.

All this trailer talked about was choices. I don't see why everyone seems to think that the things she said in this trailer are not possibly dialogue/choice options that are pre-voiced like in Mass Effect.
Also it seems clear to me in this trailer the big bad is the hero he is actually talking about, as she clearly has some of the character morph traits (dark aura) from playing "Evil" in past Fable games, hinting at what the player character could become by also making Evil choices. I think this game is setting up perhaps a *Choose a hero to support* kind of story, where you choose between Humphrey and HER, whoever SHE is.

At the end of it all we will just have to play it and find out ourselves if its good or not. To say theres barely any gameplay or no gameplay is just a lie... Do you really want game trailers to start being like movie trailers where you see the whole plot and all the big set pieces before its even released? or do you want to see creative cinematic trailers that show off a bit of gameplay that shows you enough to set the tone and feel of the game without spoiling it?
These fable trailers have been great... I hope they keep doing them like this.

it kinda seemed like they went a realistic approach from the beginning, they were just limited for the hardware of their time. I think you feel the artstyle changed too much because it actually has been THAT long since their last game, that the next would surely be that massive jump in graphics. The vibe of this trailer felt very much still like fable to me.
@@airanator1212IDK, there were other games at the time of Fable that tried to take the more realistic approach even if the graphics were limited. Compare Fable to Morrowind, Fable clearly has a more cartoony artstyle than Morrowind.

That’s what i was thinking, since this game is going to be out after all these years since the 3rd we’re probably getting a lot of characters lore, in my opinion we should not judge the game based on the character, still i hope we get a male character too

Looks like they’re bringing “back” the Queen of blades (I forgot if that’s her name or not) if y’all know the lore there’s 3 blades IIRC Jack being one of them but the MC says “she’s back” and the red cape might have given it away. This game might be peak.
I heard it was a full on reboot. I don’t think it has anything to do with the original games. I wish they would bring out more information to ease worry’s of old school fans like myself.

Best game every. Fable and Fable anniversary are still my favorite games to play. I can not wait for the franchise to be restored to the original vibe with this new Fable 4 game. It looks absolutely magical already. So excited for it

@@josesalgado1870 You do realize you can download Unreal Engine 5 and if you know how to use it make a video with "gameplay" that looks visually better in minutes, right? Walking around isn't gameplay.

I still remember fondly playing the beta version (even investing some cash in it) of FABLE LEGENDS. I still till this day cannot figure out why it was cancelled. I thought it had huge potential and was really fun.

Wait so is this a reboot of the series? Cause Albion was already in the Industrial age by Fable 3 and this is set in the same setting as Fable 1.
