I watched this with my wife and friends last night in IMAX, and we all loved it. I was expecting it to be as bad as Covenant, so I was happily disappointed in that sense. It could've been longer, but 119 minutes was time enough to tell a story like this. While many will feel like it's "fan service (it was in the positive sense)" or show the full movie in the trailer (it really didn't). In an ocean of bad horror remakes and sequels, it felt like a refreshing wave. I genuinely felt like a scared kid all over again when I watched Aliens at the theater in 1987. By the movie's end, I was excited. There were elements being given to the Xenomorph species (I won't go into details, so you'll have to see for yourself), and tying in elements from Prometheus and Covenant, and other Easter eggs throughout. Fede Alvarez definitely did the series and science fiction horror as a whole some justice with this one.

Loved every bit of it. Actors are great.
"More action needed" has never been a major complaint with any of these movies. Nowhere in your review did you bring up anything of substance. How's the plot and character development? Or are they just meatbags to be slaughtered? Did you ACTUALLY care about any of the crew? Will any of them be as iconic as Ripley, Ash, David, etc.? Did this movie bring anything new to the Alien universe?

I saw the first 2 as a young kid (questionable parenting choice!) and they’ve been among my favorite films my whole life. I have NOT enjoyed any alien film since then and have written off the franchise. I saw that this was coming out and ignored it UNTIL I stumbled upon Ali Plumb’s (BBC 1) film podcast, which has a new episode talking about the making of the first 2 alien movies and a little about the inception of Romulus (with a short interview with the director). It’s FANTASTIC. Check it out! So, got excited and watched this trailer. I mean, if you’re going to do another Alien movie, this looks RIGHT. And I LOVE that I don’t recognize any of the actors. @ViViX9999 Agreed, the film was a fantastic entry. Beautifully crafted into a mix of Alien, Aliens and Prometheus. Perfect blend. Cast, especially Raine and Andy were awesome.
