  • Walking you through the zero procedure for a crossbow with an adjustable FPS. Here are the steps if you don't want to watch (you will need a rangefinder): 1. get on the bag at 10 yards. 2. get close at 20/30 3. Zero at 50 (for a Ravin, your scope may differ) 4. Once zeroed, confirm the fps by testing the hash marks at a different range; helpful if you have access to a chrono. I finish up with a 100 yard shot for fun! The Caldwell lead-sled holds the bow reasonably well, though you could use bags or whatever you have. Remember, if the calibration is off... turn speed ring higher if you're shooting high, lower if you're shooting low. valhallaoutfitter.com

Dave, at Wyvern Creations has an excellent video explicitly explaining how to zero the Hawke and Ravin brand scopes.
Not taking anything from your video……
what yours does that his doesn’t is that you verified at distance, which EVERYONE should do once the scope is zeroed and a lot of people don’t.
Something for everyone to keep in mind is that strings and cables stretch and when they do ATA (axle to axle) measurement increases which will give a slightly shorter draw stroke and a slower arrow which will throw off the scope’s reticle hash marks.
For recurve crossbows it’s just a matter of keeping brace height in spec.
With compound crossbows ATA and timing need to be checked/adjusted regularly.
