I grabbed up an R10 in 2018. It has been a wonderful bow! No problems, very accurate and reliable. At this point, I consider the R10 as one of Ravin’s original bow designs that helped develop Ravin’s reputation. It has been a death ray for deer.

i have an excalibur micro 335, it's just over 6 years old, i love it,, raven and tenpoint both make excellent bows, but i like how simple my excalibur is

Imo ravin is the top brand for accuracy, with the roller design All of the research and engineering went into the bow it’s self, but the mounting bracket that holds the crank and the arrows is what I have a huge issue with they kind of suck, and I wish they had a different lighted nock system, you can literally damage your arrows trying to turn off the lighted knocks and then you can also make your bow explode which after talking to Raven Most of their warranty claims for blown up bows are from using lighten nocks. I did a video on it and you can hear it cracking the arrow when you try and turn it off for that reason I don’t run the lighted nocks anymore I have the R 20 model and absolutely love it

Were you using Ravin arrow lighted nocks??

Your optics gotta be positioned more forward on the Picatinnyrail...the crank will always scratch the cap of your optics....even in case of gentle decocking....

I sure wish the cranking sequence was quiet, I could see that noise causing deer or animals to spook

So do you have to keep your finger on the button as you decock. Or can you take your finger off the button and continue to decock the Xbox so the handle doesn’t free wheel?

Any way to keep this quiet when cocking? Looks like a great crossbow. Good video. Thanks.

If you push on that little button which unlocks the crank, while cocking, it will be silent. It disengages the ratchet. Just don't let go of the crank with the button pushed. The crank will unwind itself quickly.

$100 string cable change once a year per Ravin recommendation, excalibur sting last for several years

    • @mrpush2532
      @mrpush2532 6 днів тому

My Ravin string last 7 years. I never changed it.
Bow shot way off last season. I forced it w scope. Shot a great buck with it. It popped in off season by itself.
Now would I reccomend this? No. But you could get away with several years before changing.
Just watch the cam timing marks and if it shoots way off at start of a season, your strings ready to go!
      Replace them then for sure.

That is why I bought a tenpoint way safer then the ravin if it had a better cocking system I would of bought it

What if you misplace the cranking handle? It should be built into the bow.

$1200 makes you mad enough to make that comment. You'd be REALLY pissed if you saw the guns I run. :)

It’s all how you look at it. There are a lot of more budget minded bows out there and they can be great at getting someone started, but there is a difference between those and the likes of a Ravin. The quality of build and materials is different.
On the other hand, if you have to explain the difference between a gallon of Mogen David and a bottle of 1937 merlot don’t waste your breath.
      😂

Yes not cheap, but it's a great bow. I've had Parker and other.cheapers ones and they just don't compare.
Had my Ravin 7 years, never changed strings. It popped this past off season on the wall.
      Humm. That's amazing.
I got it restrung, it shoots even faster than when new!
I've used in rain and snow, always worked flawlessly. Only thing in would like more now is the X model with the silent cocking.
It's really a great bow. I've tried some 10 points, just don't like them as much.
I've had an excal, great bow too but just way too wide.
      I'm keeping my Ravin!
