  • Watch this POWERFUL speech where Eric Adams discusses his plant-based journey, and removing processed meat from school menus!
For the first time ever, New York City has welcomed a vegan mayor. As of November 3rd 202, former police officer Eric Adams won the race and in doing so also became the city’s second Black mayor.
From January, the 61-year-old will take over the position with the key message of ensuring public safety following the fallout of COVID-19.
The plant-based politician announced his candidacy last year, where he deplored the ‘dysfunctional government’ for mishandling COVID-19 and causing swathes of New Yorkers to get sick as a result.

If one only look it would be simple to realise that the schools are the reason that majority of adults are unhealthy. From ages 5 thru 19 most people eat more meals in school than they do at home. This fact makes me believe that schools where also designed to propel people down the path of unhealthy eating. It didn't cost a dime for most to become unhealthy but it will cost them to become healthy. Becoming unhealthy was somewhat free when you consider the school diet but becoming healthy and remaining healthy will cost.

I work at a school and must say that (at least in my city) the crap the kids who don't eat school lunch bring is about as bad if not worse than school lunch. Chips and those Lunchables things and other junk food. And they also have a "snack time" with food that parents donate to the class which is often junk food. It's sickening. There's an obesity epidemic here fuelled by our location of two interstates crossing which has created an excessive amount of restaurants and fast food and poor eating choices at home.

but this is the back door -- through the health side. Many people have attained vegan consciousness starting out this way. It's a great start given the realities of people's resistance to caring about animals.

Mayor Eric Adams says it well- all of us know family and friends with degenerative diseases- caused by animal parts in their diets. We all need gardens and to teach growing our food in schools everywhere. Plant-based diets can also be part of churches' and mosques' educational programs.Every educator and spiritual leader can take part in this resurrection of our society's good health, starting with espousing those foods from the plant kingdom.

I have an immense distrust of anyone in government, at any level or position. However, I am hopeful, at least in the area having to do with people's health issues, that he will be a great advocate. I can not speak to other issues that will come across his desk at Gracie Mansion.

Everything he said is the truth. Unusual for a politician. I went whole food, plant-based 8 months ago. I was 66 years old, asthmatic, overweight, pre-diabetic, high blood pressure. My doctor had me on blood sugar medications, blood pressure pills, 3 asthma medications. I am now at a healthy weight, normal blood sugar, excellent blood pressure, no more asthma attacks, and off of all my medications. It's funny when family members who I have not seen in a while look at me and ask if I am ill. We have become so fat as a society that when we see an older person with healthy weight we assume they are sick.

Seed oil. 150 yr's ago there was no type 2 diabetes. No heart diseases like we have today. It's the chemicals & the processed foods the food producers make & we eat.
Eliminating seed oils is a major start!!!!!!

People have been consuming seed oil for centuries and doing just fine, the main thing is quantity (with respect to your lifestyle) and the quality (which seed, how it's grown, how it's processed, etc)

He is right, there is not a health care problem, the problem is the food/diet of individuals following the SAD (standard American diet). It's about time someone with a testimony of health problems speak up about the food and dead meat industry that know their products are killing us. The drug companies are probably not liking the sound of this.
