The first one was funny tho he was lik “ hey I’m winning this you get back ima but you I’m the face”
I hate how they just smack the horses over and over when it’s clear they are going as fast as they can.
I watch horse racing with my family, and I go to the Keenland racetrack almost every year and I’ve never really seen stuff this bad before…
The rearing horse was Point Given. He was a habitual rearer, which is a dangerous habit for both horse and rider. He was retired to Three Chimney's Farm where stallions are routinely worked under saddle, but he was deemed too dangerous to ride.
Point Taken. 🙃
Just wondering if u knew Ruffian never wore shoes during workouts? Cuz yer obviously knowledgeable about horse racing. . .
I just fed that horses carrots at the horse park
@@Calebjones007 He's 25 years old now. He was a flop as a sire so I'm glad Calumet had the decency to retire him from stud duty and place him at the Horse Park. Some farms would have sold him off to a country where Uncle Ralph lost his shoes. He'll live out his days in honor at the Park.
@@noelharris1177 I never heard that but it would be very unusual for a horse of her size and way of going to not be shod between races as it would be hard on her hooves to take that sort of pounding and stay sound. Especially as her races were mostly 10 days/2 or 3 weeks apart, unlike schedules these days. That would be a lot of yanking off and nailing on of shoes that would be destructive of the hoof wall. I know of some young horses in training, but before racing, that are shod with glue-on shoes rather than traditional racing plates, but are shod with plates before they are raced. So if Ruffian trained barefoot it would be a unique situation.
For all the people whos saying this is abusive stfu horses are MADE TO RUN THEY ENJOY IT
sure 3-year-old Colts enjoy having people on their backs at like 1 year old and being forced to run at top speed there's a difference between running in a herd and being forced to run on the track
Yea sure 3 year old horses love having weight on their back and then they snap their ankles

They don’t hurt the horse
@@gabbyeetyou clearly know nothing about horses 🙄 My mother used to work at a racing yard, and she said it was absolute TORTURE.Horses were raced even when they were lame. And there is a scientific study showing a horses hind before and after being whipped w/ racing whips. After the horses hind has slashes of red.

EVERY. SPORT. CAN. BE. ABUSIVE. You cannot say that horse racing is abusive without also saying that barrel racing, show jumping, hunter jumping, pole bending, flag racing, reining, dressage, cross country, keyhole, polo, and every other horse sport is abusive. @lambicakesandlincoln503 yes but most of it is abuse and its a horse racing video so I put that ok??
This is so hard to watch if I had to watch something like this every week or month it would be TORTURE
How
Because they are torturing the horses like bruh look at that it’s so sad☠️
They aren't torturing the horses. Most horses that race want to race, without racing and running they would become extremely pent up and anxiety ridden.
@@SLWesternRider but the way they ride them and slap them over using crops and those horses have a high rate of getting extremely hurt because of how fast they are going if you don’t think I’m right you can look up: why is horse racing bad? Then you’ll see how bad it can actually be…

Ugh, racing is so abusive and it should not exist
Most horses that race want to race, any sport can be abusive. It all depends on who is in charge of the horse at the end of the day.
Horses love to run! Im unsure what you concider cruility. Also horses serve zero perpose today so without the peapole who have passion for equine activities, you dont have horses. Horse riding is literally just gonna be the death of the animal soon if people keep doing that we’re gonna have no horses
It isn't even abusive. Whips make sound not pain, riders should just sit there, not force the horse to run. Horses should enjoy running. They are an 800+ pound animal, if they really don't like something, they let you know. Trust me.
@@randomhorsenose they would buck you off, bite you, not let you on, neigh, gap their mouth, and make you feel uneven.
What I hate about racing is how hard they hit with the crop-
now, i know they need one, i just always think about how much it musthurt over time.
I understand your concerns using a whip never sounds great but in the last decade tons of rules have been put in place limiting the number strikes a rider can use and also the crops length and physical make up is softer. Like I can whack myself with one and it doesn’t hurt. To my knowledge injuries caused by whips are one of the last things the racing industry has to worry about right now.
Thanks for straightening things up with this person bc I would of been here for days explaining it to them 😂
@@SketchyTheHorseGuy About you being able to whack yourself and it not hurting. According to studies, horse skin is way thinner than humans, which makes them feel more pain than humans. Even if the whips are soft, they may still be able to feel the pain from being whipped. !! *MY OPINON* !!
The whips are foam 🗿
@@Levi_Yourproblemisme Yeah, well your opinion is wrong. The ends of the "whips" are encased in foam rubber - like what you find on a pool noodle. And, yes, you can whack yourself with those 360 crops and it bounces right off, no pain. Buy one yourself and try it.
You can damn well bet horses biting each other in a tiff out in the pasture feel a lot more pain than from these pool noodle crops and the horses have no problem with biting each other to show dominance.
And if a horse's hide was as thin as you think it is, how is it they can pull the hide off the same way as is done with cattle? There is reason why it is called "horsehide", not "horse skin".
I actually got to meet the horse who was rearing up and his name was piont given and he won 4 million-dollar races
Sure it’s abusive but not all of it is💀
Just for people to know. Not all racing is abusive. One, some horses actually enjoy it. And two, not all jockeys abuse there horses. It's the same thing with hunters, show jumping, cross country, dressage, barrel racing, speed barrels, poll bending, and even just regular trail riding. I'm not denying that there's no horse abuse in the racing world or just the equine world in general. But I don't really like how people judge every little thing. People take one look at something and declare it wrong or abusive.
Everyone keeps saying "Not ALL racing is abusive". But I think they are forgetting that these horses are started at 18 months, which is VERY BAD FOR THEM
You’re literally talking about he 2% of people horse racing. Professional horse racing is abusive and horses do not enjoy it

Yeah.. horse abuse is so underrated 🙄
The second last one just showed how important that race was to them, love that
Professional horse racing has faced criticism for its inherent risks and potential for abuse towards the animals involved. One of the main concerns is the physical toll it takes on the horses. These animals are often pushed to their limits, running at high speeds on hard surfaces, which can lead to various injuries such as fractures, muscle strains, and tendon damage. The pressure to win races can sometimes result in horses being raced before they are fully mature or recovered from previous injuries, exacerbating their vulnerability to harm.
Another aspect of abuse in professional horse racing is the use of performance-enhancing drugs and other medications. While regulations exist to prevent doping, instances of illegal substances being administered to horses have been documented. These substances can mask injuries, artificially enhance performance, or even endanger the health of the horse. Furthermore, the practice of using whipping or other forms of physical punishment to urge horses to run faster has drawn criticism for its potential to cause pain and distress to the animals.
Moreover, the fate of horses after their racing careers is a significant concern. Many retired racehorses face uncertain futures, with some ending up in slaughterhouses or neglectful situations. The pressure to maximize profits often means that the welfare of these animals is neglected once they are no longer profitable on the track. While efforts have been made to improve post-career options for retired racehorses through rescue organizations and adoption programs, the sheer number of horses retiring from the industry poses ongoing challenges in ensuring their well-being. Overall, these factors contribute to the growing awareness of the abusive aspects within the professional horse racing industry and the need for greater regulation and oversight to protect the welfare of the animals involved.
Lots of times the crops will be used to make noise, they won’t actually hit the horses.
I think you can only make contact once or twice.
This is NOT to say some places aren’t abusive or some owners and riders are.

The 2nd pic just shows how insanely tall horses can get
In the firse clip one name started with a y yibir i think and it went viral in the thoroughbred racehorse community or who reads up on it like me
I dont think horse racing is abusive also owners 9f the horse should know if the horse is hurt in a way to prevent further injury
Horse abuse🚨
Most horses actually enjoy racing. When they don't, that's when it becomes abuse. The whips they use are just foam crops, and the horses are bred to run, just run.
GET THIS IN YOUR HEAD: This is not dam abuse, the horses and just being horses, the jockeys are not hurting them, the whips are just used for sound, horses only race about once every 2-3 months. After a race they get 2-3 weeks off for their legs to rest, once they are back training, they will start out with trotting and they will not do a full gallop for about 2 weeks. All of the horses get fans in there stalls for when it’s hot, blankets for when it’s cold, they get fresh water, 2-3 meals a day, and they get walked around the barn. They get often vet and farrier visits and they enjoy their job!!

It’s so disgusting to see people use horses like that. I’m general, horse racing is just straight up abuse. I never watch horse racing. It’s just the fact they force horses to race, and I especially hate when people say “horses love to run”. Yes, horses do like to run, but do not like to be forced. So disgusting to watch- #SAVETHEHORSES

I hate horse racing, most of the horses where be riding when they are 2 years old!
If they are racing horses at 2 years old they would all have broken legs, they start training at 2 years old yes, but this almost never means riding this intensely
A lot of them are older but yes some are like racing at 3 or 4.
Yes definitely pictures
Why are they hitting horses to go faster? Isn’t it hurting them or not?
Just a reminder I hate anyone who supports this because every single one of these animals is abused if you support this I hope you know that you are supporting a very form and very widely spread form of torture please do not support the torture that goes on behind closed doors with racing

I get you guys r trying to defend horse racing but this is my opinion,
Horse racing can be abusive and it manly is because they may treat there horses well and all but if a horse trips or collided with another horse that could cause injuries and why would you put a young horses life at stake for money? And it has been proven that race horses die younger than normal horse or develop joint problems when they are older. Many horses enjoy racing but in this kind of racing it’s not that fun.And if a horse stopped winning and kept failing some people would just throw them away.I’m not going to go into anymore details because There is so much wrong with this sport but all disciplines can be abusive but this in my view just is.I respect your opinion but I stand by mine.
And also steeplechase is just abuse I’m not going to say anything else about it but it just is
Horse racing is abuse!!! over 600 horse die form horse racing a year and do you hear any other horse sport having that many horse die in a year. And horses from the age of 2-4 year old is when there bodies and drain are being developed the most and putting that much pressure on them killed there bodies. As well ad the people in the racing industry will use the horse till it can’t run anymore or is to old and will ether give it away, slaughter houses, and some people even euthanizes them. And if you don’t think that is abuse then fact check your self.
.
i wish racing would be banned.

do you know what annoys me? when people say race horses run all day everyday and get a very late retirement : ill answer all those with the correct answers. They only run once a month normally you cant race them more than once a month and they only race until they are 5,6 or 7 and thats only 5 years or racing horses will normally race for 1 to 5 years when other horses still ride the same discipline for years upon years so there it is racing is not abuse because when they hit the 100 meter mark you can only whip them 5 times or you will get finned or lose your jockey currier and its no where near to abuse compared to other disciplines so thats for all you stupid people who thinks they know everything
you know what annoys me idiots coming out and talks about subjects they have no clue about
