I love the Splintered Fang, they have a really cool gladiator aesthetic that mixes real world Roman Gladiators with an organic fantasy style. They look like proper pit fighters but also don't look like they were pulled straight from history or established fantasy tropes.
Also the subversion of beliefs where things like poison and trickery aren't considered signs of weakness/cowardice is neat because of the contrast with our perceptions of honor. We tend to project our own morals onto fantasy societies which should realistically have different believers due to how they developed.
Also they’re probably from Ghyran.

Wouldn't it be more fitting for the corvus cabals great bird to be a crow? I also like how the cable and the iron golems are somewhat parodies of the raven gaurd and iron hands.
Fan of the Unmade. One thing that wasn't is that they, being in the realm of death, saw that undead felt no pain and decided pain was the thing that made them living, and not dead like everything around them. That is why they revel and worship pain

My favorite of the Chaos Warcry warbands hands down is the Untamed Beasts. I'm waiting for the Sions as the small amount of background we've gotten so far sound soooo good. The Unmade are also amazing too.
My favorites are the Splintered Fangs. They worship of the Godbeast Nagendra, a giant Snake, and corruption by chaos is very Conan the Barbarian and Yuan-Ti to me.
I’m really thinking of getting a set of Unmade. What I’m thinking of doing however is tweak them a bit with plastic cutting and painting so that instead of the augmentations being prosthetic limbs they are instead controlled mutations into what they deem to be a "perfect form". This will also give them a reason to go to Archaon as to present their "perfect specimen" in hopes that he will accept them into his retinue because of that. Needless to say, they are a very delusional warband.
So the Cypher Lords are the Alpha Legion of the Chaos warbands.... interesting
Seems like all the warbands have a counterpart Legion.
My Warcry Starter set is coming in the mail tomorrow. Soooo super excited. I paid almost twice the release price for an unopened box but I think it's worth it. I really thought it was going to be in production longer than a year. I'm also buying Corvus Cabal, and The Unmade next while also using my Maggotkin and Stormcasts as warbands for a rich selection. This is how I'm planning on getting my friends into Warhammer. Great video as always!
They should've made the warcry warbands battleline if you're from the corresponding realm. I'd like to see entire Slaves to Darkness armies converted to be themed around these tribes.

My two favourites are the Splintered Fang and the Cypher Lords. The Splintered Fang just really remind me of the Conan movies and the snake worshippers there and the Cypher Lords are just really cool, because they're something evil from the Realm of Light, which is a cool concept!
I've got the Unmade, and am tempted to convert an army of them. Just don't like the monopose, and I don't feel like those models really lend well to being chopped up and being reposed...
I really enjoyed the tarantulos brood. I just wish they had more lore.
Imo, the iron guys looks the coolest, and the pain guys have the most fun lore.

Me and my brother have been getting into Warcry to deal with the long wait between Underworlds releases.
Really cool. Video. I’m in the middle of reading the short story book and so far my favorite story is about the unmade. Hopefully gw will give us some new models for these groups at some time.
I bet the 2014 Robocop movie would really rock the Unmade's world.
Cypher Lords are my favourite to play, but I kind of hate their name.

Why doesn't Warcry get more love from the Warhammer community? It's great, Necromunder and Mordheim but in the Eightpoints
I think if they made a more... tradition? campaigns system (the kind folks do with Necromund and Mordheim) we would likely see it take off a bit more
@@2Tough Ah, true enough! I suppose character advancement, injuries and some sort of treasure system would better align to Necromunder and Mordheim style. We may see that in a future release, never know! I'm sure of people give it a go, they would come to love it anyway. All the epic moments of a large battle but compacted into a 45 minute skirmish.
Wells model looks really awesome I'm going to be on but yeah different warbands of Chaos louder. Loyal to specific chaos God
I play cypher lords for the rules and abilities. I love the untamed beast story because [spoiler] was awesome, best twist in a novella ever.
My favorite lore wise? Probably Unmade. Their devotion is insane, and the way they destroy themselves to gain power is extremely interesting, and telling of just hoe chaos can warp your mind.

I’m a fan of the splintered fang. Not the best lore, but I love the look (they were fun to paint) and I love the serpent/snake style.
Mechanically, I also love the use of spears and such. 2” range has allowed me to punch way above my weight class (especially with leader’s net ability). I remember playing FEC and netted their leader, surrounded it and poked it to death safely.
The only downside is that the snake pile units were boring af to paint... good unit, boring model
I liked making each snake a different color and different breeds of real snakes. It added a nice pop of multicolor that was fun!
Another great video exploring the lore behind the various Age of Sigmar faction! Can't wait to see the installment on the upcoming Warcry factions! The Corvus Cabal are definitely my favorite of the original release.
Honestly i felt all of warcry was to replace marauders
Maybe not replace, but certainly FLAVOUR them. Kitbash and paint them in one of these styles!

Wish war cry was just not so aimed at chaos, I’m not big into chaos as a player. Just seems like they tossed everyone else’s troops as a afterthought. Thematically does not make sense to me that they are there
The Stormcast Eternal models in warcry are supposed to be scouts attempting to get close to the Varanspire to learn more about Archaon’s plans (which is why their units are gryph-hounds and scout stormcasts). Also the savage orks are likely just wild orks who live near the Varanspire and sometimes attack it. I don’t know about the other non-chaos warbands but those 2 make sense to me.
