Thank you so much for the most "detailed" tutorial for knotting pearls I have watched! I love that you use several pearls with knots at each end, to increase durability. Some tutorials I've watched only go back through one pearl and that doesn't seem that it would make the necklace as strong. You are a born instructor. Hugs, M.D.
Great tutorial. I usually find that key steps in any how-to videos are “obscured by fingers” but this is really well set up and zooms in on tricky bits. Thanks!
I inherited a string of pearls from my sister who passed away in 2016, but haven't been able to wear them because they were broken. Thanks to your wonderful tutorial - I have just completed knotting them successfully and can finally wear them.
I've been knotting pearls off and on for several years, usually only once or twice a year. Because I can be forgetful (I'm 76) I always check for a video to remind me of the beginning and ending using french wire. I have to say that this is the best video I've found (and I've watched a bunch!). It's just what I need to kick-start my memory when knotting pearls. Thank you so much.
My grandma was a jeweler and when I was 13 she taught me how to do this. I’m now 29 and when she passed away earlier this year I ended up with one of her broken pearl necklaces, and the idea was that I could fix it to remember her but I realized I needed a refresher. This tutorial is perfect, I’m in the process of re-stringing the necklace right now and soon I’ll be able to wear it!
The best tutorial video I have found for Pearl knotting with a single strand of silk. Very clear instructions and helps that it is so close up so you can see the detail of what you are doing. This technique with the tweezers gives consistent knots right close up to the pearls. I've just tried it to make a bracelet with great results! Easy to do once you get the hang of it. Great instructions for finishing the ends neatly and securely too. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and explaining everything so carefully!
The absolute best tutorial covering the professional method of stringing & knotting pearls or beads. Every detail is clearly explained as the demo shows each step in the process. No extra chit chat & no missing oversights, just straight to the point. All the essential information is provided, complete from start to finish. It also includes a brief overview of the parts to better understand how the pieces fit together. A comparison of various fresh water pearl types, a description of thread size in relation to diameter of the drilled center, selecting a clasp style, purpose of French wire & special adhesive to secure the end knots. I enjoyed every bit of this well planned presentation & I'll return to purchase supplies. Thank you for sharing your expert knowledge & passion for creating beautiful jewelry!
This was a fabulous tutorial. I have sat and watched a number of videos on pearl knotting and this is the only one that actually got through to me of how to do it! I went from start to finish without a mistake and the pearls look very professionally done. Thank you, thank you. :)
This tutorial is incredible. It's by far the best one I've seen! I didn't really understand what exactly needed to be done and why until watching. Thank you so so much!
This video is most informative and easy to follow. This lady is also very pleasant to listen to. I can't wait to try stringing my lapis lazuli beads following her tutorial.
I have watched so many tutorials about this, and most of the instructors are not thorough, and half the time, you can't see what they're doing because their hands are in the way. THANK YOU for this top-notch video tutorial!!
Great tutorial…. I really resonated when you said “ Every Jeweller should know how to string pearls, as some day you will be asked to fix a broken pearl necklace… “ Can’t wait to make one now.. Thank you ❤
I've been watching several pearl-knotting video tutorials, and this is the best and most clearly explained without too much extra talking. Thank you so very much
What an absolutely brilliant tutorial, I have a broken pearl necklace and dont want to have to take it into a shop to have re strung, so this is the ticket !! Thank you so much, you are a fantastic teacher !! I have subscribed for more of your interesting content .....
Thank you for the clear video as well as with the live audio. I was able to follow everything well at a perfect pace, very happy with it! I just had to search a bit for the right thread, but that also turned out fine:) You are a perfect instructor!! Britt
My daughter and I would love to wear these and I cannot wait to make them for us. It would be a traditional pair to pass down to our girls. Thank you so much for showing us how to make them have a great 2024 and years to come.
I’ve only knotted one strand of pearls . It was in a class. We used lobster claw clasps a clam shell connection w/glue and a jump ring. Everything was fine but there was a successful explanation on how to tighten the knots. We used a pin to slide the knot up to the pearl. Your use of the needle tweezers makes it much easier to understand.
That was a great tutorial. I have never used the French wire, and your directions were very clear; your demonstration of how this process is done was was at a great pace. It was very easy to follow you. Thank you.
I've just completed my first try at re-stringing my pearls and found your demonstration extremely easy to follow. I am very pleased with the results. I have saved myself a lot of money and I have a better string of pearls because I only discovered recently that they had NOT been knotted by the jewellers (supposedly a professional!) for re-stringing as they were originally. So as you can imagine, I am so glad that they didn't break! Now, thanks to your excellent video I won't have to worry now. Thanks a million!
I learned exactly what I needed to know from this... an excellent tutorial. Well planned, beautifully executed, and the pro tips about the silk and knots, tweezers - well done. Thank you.
Yes, pay close attention to the part where she explains about the tweezers sliding towards the pearl--I didn't pay attention at first and experienced some frustration with knots that didn't quite sit flush. Rewatched it and voilà! She explains it exactly, and I was able to finish the necklace with no other problems and end up with a very professional-looking string of pearls. Thank you!
Oh my, what an excellent video! I love love love pearls and have no less than 8 or 10 strings of my mother's and grandmothers. Now I can repair ones that need a new clasp or restring and knot them. You re a genuine learning experience. Thank you so much.
Your knotting tutorials are the GREATEST and this is another fantastic one, especially because of your awesome close up! The close up is the most important part of a beading tutorial and your is great! Thank you.
Thank you! I´m about to make my own pearl necklace and I knew that I had to learn about how to do it in the proper way and not just buy a thread and get going. This explains a lot to why the knots are important and why we need to secure it a lot.
At last someone who has taken the mystery out of pearl knotting very clear easy to understand instructions thank you thank you thank you.have now tried this technique and thanks to you have made a good job even though I say it myself
Best tutorial I’ve found so far after several months of looking. Wish Inhad found it much sooner. BRAVO Spoilt Rotten Beads!! Clear, concise, easy to follow and yet quick. Now subscribed!
This is a brilliant tutorial and I use it all the time to remind me of the details. Thank you so much for being such a good teacher and providing such a clear presentation.
Thank you for putting this video up. I am sitting here following along trying not to screw up but I have so now this is the 5th time I have started lol. So I am doing it all again. I will get this finished. I think of me mum while I listen to you which is a good thing. I have about 8 necklaces that I am going to do for presents so I have a lot of learning and practice. Thank you
Totally brilliant video - thank you. I am a jewellery maker and designer with over 35 years experience, but have never had to string pearls. I am going to have a go now with your help. Watch this space. Phil (from philongold)
I have viewed many videos on pearl knotting and this one IS THE BEST ANYWHERE! So clear and precise right through completion of a beautiful piece. I recently viewed this one over again as a refresher and the projects are completed. Thank You for sharing your expertise with us!
Thank you so much for the tutorial. This video was the most easily understood and detailed one I came across. Well done. Now I can start stringing my pearl.
I have watched several videos on pearl knotting. I do think that your’s is the most specific and clear to understand. Thank you so much for this great video!
Thank you so much for your demo on Knotting pearl. Can't wait to get my French wire etc. and try this I loved the step by step it was easy to understand.
Thank you so much. My pearls broke some years ago and I had them re strung at the jewellers. I wasn't over impressed as one of the pearls hadn't been knotted correctly and moved about 3 or 4 mm over time. They have recently broken again at the French wire. I decided that this time I would 're strung them following your video. I used a dressmaking pin to get the knot close to the pearl as my tweezers were not like yours. I'm really pleased with the result. It may not be perfect, but a much better job than the jewellers did. Like all things in life, it takes practice. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this wonderful video!! I am currently re-stringing my wedding pearl necklace for my daughter to wear in her wedding and I find your instructions to be very helpful. Much appreciated!
Agreed, exceptionally great tutorial. I was taught this way in a class but didn't learn the method you showed for starting with a clasp using a French wire! Thank you so much!
Thank you for showing me how to do this. I’m sure I will have to eventually restring all of the strand, but with this information I was able to fix the end of my 50 year old pearls that had loosened at the end of one clasp!
So very extremely helpful! The french wire I ordered from Spoilt Rotten Beads was exactly what I needed! I've restrung my sister's pearls and will be doing mine next. Thank you, Spoilt Rotten Beads!!
I have already looked at a few videos on pearl knotting. I watched them to get an overview and try to adapt all of other peoples experiences into my own method, however this video is the best tutorial on pearl threading that I have seen and doesn't need any changes, it is a great simple method concisely and precisely presented. The camera work was also excellent. Thank you for your help.
A friend from church came to me with a beautiful freshwater pearl necklace she got many years ago- the thread had broken and she knew I did custom beaded jewelry and repair. I'd never done a nice pearl necklace so was a little daunted. But your tutorial had exactly the information I needed! From what kind of thread (silk) and size to the exact logistics and mechanics of how to tie the knits in between. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so very much for your lovely, step by step video. I own a small business and one of my customers wanted me to hand knot her beads. I had no clue what to do. I came across your video and the necklace turnout so beautiful. I now love knotting pearls and beads, I even made myself one 😊
AS with the comments below this is an exceptionally good tutorial with the Tweezers thank you very much you have made it look so easy with very clear step by step instructions.
thank you for sharing such an easy to follow instructions on knotting a pearl necklace. I would not have been able to restring and knot my pearl necklace without your help, I am so grateful to you. However I have not been able to buy a fish hook clasp (Elegance) so I reused my original clasp. Perhaps over time the clasp you mention in your tutorial are no longer available, in the UK but no matter I managed to complete my necklace and now after ten years in a draw I can now wear them again. best wishes JB.
Brilliant video! I love your method. I have just watched another video where the lady used a crimp bead and 2 knots between the clasp and the last pearl at each end, and I think that looks messy (unless you use a couple of crimp covers I suppose) but your method is a lot easier and looks so much neater! The only thing I will point out is that you say the thickness of the thread needs to be able to go through the pearl but it actually needs to go through the pearl twice so something to remember before starting. Otherwise, I think this is a fantastic method and your instructions are so clear...thank you!
Wow I am impressed with this tutorial, I think I was a little bit brave or stupid to think I could rethread my old pearls without any previous experience or knowhow. Thank goodness you have made it possible for me to achieve a good result with your detailed tutorial because I have already taken them off their original thread! I will now purchase the necessary products from your web page and thank you again so much for the tutorial, I will probably watch it several times again once I receive the items I will need to purchase to complete my job. My pearls are not expensive but they were a gift from my husband over 37 years ago when we were on holiday in Spain and I have been reluctant to wear them recently because they need new thread, and I was worried they would break but I have been unable to find a local jeweler who is willing to do the job for me in Lincolnshire UK.
Thank you for your video it’s very easy to understand, my language it’s not English, but I can tell you that your patience and the slowly way that you explain and watching the video makes easy to any people, I would like to having you next door of my home. Congratulations and I hope sincerely God blessed your 🙌 😉
Wow! So interesting and precise one has to be while knotting pearls in a strand! This is the first time I am watching someone with a tutorial on how how to knot pearls, and it’s so amazing. And how you insert the clasp first is also very clever! So wonderful to learn this. Thank you so much for the video! 😀
Thank you so much for this very detailed and helpful tutorial. I like the uncomplicated method you showed for knotting the between each pearl and the very secure way for attaching the clasp.
Excellent tutorial. I was lucky enough to have a TriCord Knotter to tie my knots, but your beginning and end of the necklace was very helpful. This will be a pearl necklace for my mom's 91st birthday on Friday. She will adore this necklace. Thank you.
Thanks for the demonstration. I've bought myself some fresh water pearls but have not got round to stringing them because I wanted to knot them for safety but didn't know how. After seeing your demo I feel confident enough to do it. Thank you.
My dear, how to thank you for this wonderfull and so convenient tutorial I have watched in the whole net!!! This is a perfect job and I never thought to be able to do the same but I DO. God bless you for transmitting this knowledge so perfectly. Nathalie, Paris, France
Those pearls are lovely, you explained everything very accurately.Very good filming and your instructions easy to follow. This is the best tutorial I really enjoyed! YOU ARE FANTASTIC thank you.greetings from Cyprus...
i watched so many other videos and almost gave up and just strung the pearls without knotting, this is so simple and my necklace looks so professional now : ) TY
Thank you. I understood everything you were doing. It looked easy enough...now I will get some supplies and watch again while I am trying to follow. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for the most "detailed" tutorial for knotting pearls I have watched! I love that you use several pearls with knots at each end, to increase durability. I've watched quite a few bead or pearl knotting tutorials, and this one is by far the best. Very clear spoken and visual instructions!
I've seen several variations on how to knot pearls, but this one is my favorite! I can't wait to try this. Thank you so much for this video.
This by far the best stringing tutorial video I've seen, the best explanation for how to use the French wire to attach the clasp. Thank you!
Brilliant- best tutorial ever. Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
I have wanted to learn how to string pearls most of my life - now I can! Brilliant tutorial - I have watched many others. Thank you

Genius!! I've been looking for a proper tutorial for pearls and beads. Thank you so much!!
Thank you! It’s been probably 12 years since I’ve done a strand and a customer needs theirs restrung for an event. Truly appreciate the refresher!
Excellent. Clear instructions. Good demonstrations. Thank you very much.
Thank you! Very clear, shows how-to with no new gadgets to purchase. Excellent!

And how you insert the clasp first is also very clever! So wonderful to learn this. Thank you so much for the video! 😀
