Thank you! My Grandmother gifted her pearls to me before she passed away last year and my toddler broke the string the first time I wore them. I don’t want to leave a family heirloom with a stranger and your tutorial makes the restringing process look very simple.
WOW. Why didn't any of the women in my family teach me this, or even someone in school? Thank goodness for streaming video. I've never seen a knotting tool in my life. This is AWESOME. Thank you!
Thank you Angie, I do not know why everyone else who has made these tutorials has made it so difficult to tie beads. Your method is the simpliest way that I have ever seen, Again THANK YOU.
I'm so grateful for this tutorial. Thank you. I wanted to have my grandmother's pearls restrung but every jeweler I went to does not let you observe the process. I even had one scold me on the phone. This is the only thing I have from her and I can't stand the thought of something happening to them. Thank you for sharing how to do this in such a clear and simple way..
As a jeweler, I cannot imagine having a customer watch me restring their necklace because they didn't trust me to do the job correctly. I'm glad you were able to do it yourself.
I went to a jeweller I knew to get a heavy semi precious gemstone necklace done too. He sent it to his re-beader who, he said, had more patience to do the job and they did a good job.
I work in a jewelery repair shop, and it is outrageous the price we have to charge for restringing pearls. I try to tell as many people as I can to look at this video and do it themselves!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is the easiest and I can see what your hands are doing. I can finally work on some projects a couple of friends have given me!
Awesome tutorial! 👍 I was thinking a dental pick would work until I saw you follow through with your handy-dandy tool. This is just what I needed to know. Thank you so much! 😊 PS- I like your idea of threading all the beads on first because you can tie a knot at the end to keep them from falling off. 👍
Thank you so very much for taking your precious time to demonstrate how to do this. I'm guessing it would cost a bit to have this done professionally. I will (God willing) be attempting to double knot some strings of pearls recently purchased for gifts.
I took a pearl bracelet to a jewelry repair place and they said $44 and 2 weeks. For a small bracelet, not a necklace. That's why I'm here looking at this video 😂 gonna save myself $44
Thank you! I inherited my grandma's pearls too lol. It's a necklace and bracelet set and I never wear bracelets, so I'm going to restring the necklace and add the bracelet pearls to it ;)
I'm having a hard time finding the correct size of silk cord to string my pearls. If I have a pearls that have a whole size .6 what size silk cord size should I use.? I bought a size 4 would that be to big? I ask because I saw you used Size 2.
One more question, please because I think I ordered the wrong size thread. Did you order No.2 or No.6. According to the string gauge guide on Amazon, FF is #6.
I have a pearl bracelet which is made by thread by using wax. I want to make it newly but it is difficult to take out from thread. Please suggest me how to take out from thread
Take tiny scissors (jewelry scissors or even nail scissors), being careful not to scratch the pearls, and snip the cord in between each bead. That should work! If there's thread stuck inside the pearl, you can poke it out with a beading needle.
I'm excited about re beading my antique beads but I don't know what size beading needle? How do I figure that out, there is a lot online to pick from?????????
Nancy Meck It depends on the size of the holes in your beads. I'm not an expert, but I think the holes in pearls are usually smaller than in other beads, so you'd want to go for a smaller needle.
In your video you indicated size of thread is FF, yet the link you provided through amazon.com is for size 2. Before I place my order can you indicate if they are the same or not? Thank you in advance.
Again, Angie, thank you. I've strung up some pearls with this video.....no problems and they came out beautifully. I can't believe how simple your tutorial is! (8/27/2018)

Thank you so much! I purchased that knotting tool last year, but couldn't figure out how to use it. You really simplified it for me👍.
You made it look so easy by going slow. I appreciate that. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I've inherited several vintage pearl necklaces and bracelets and I would love to use them again
Thank you will try this. Will buy tools. The jeweler was quoting $100s of dollars for restringing my pearls. Now I’ll do it myself. 😊
Great! Have fun!

How far up the pearl strand did you cut the string? Right up against the metal start or a few pearls in?
That was so clear tutorial! Thank you!

So cool, I am going to try to fix some of my broken gemstone necklace and pearls that I seem to have a few of now.

Can you use crimp beads on silk thread?
I have used them on nylon bead cord, but I don't remember ever trying it with silk.
In your video you indicated size of thread is FF, yet the link you provided through amazon.com is for size 2. Before I place my order can you indicate if they are the same or not? Thank you in advance.
